What's the best way to get links from images?
-
I have a few images that I have taken recently and I was wondering what might be the best way to use them. Ideally I would like to get a few links or some interest via social networks. I know I've a few options including:
- adding images directly to the website
- adding images to Flickr or similar
- adding images to Google+
- adding images to Facebook
- adding images to twitpic or similar
I was also intending in keeping some images to include directly in posts.
Should I concentrate posting images directly on the site or use social networks? Which social networks work well for images? How can I use images to get links?

Don't forget the Pininterest - if you have good images, incredible SEO potential there.
Also, find relevant websites who might find your images interesting - not difficult if your pics are unique and not-so-common. You can allow them to use it if they link to you.

If you want to build links from your images then you will need to allow hotlinking from your site - there is a great piece of code from Patrick Atloft and also a Wordpress plugin that will mean you can get links via this method but the script can be heavy on your bandwidth each month.
As for using your images as part of your social media then Pinterest and Flickr would be good places to start.

Does posting links in comments on Linkedin count as blackhat?
Hello, I noticed a competitor site has started writing a post on linkedin and then adding the link to the article they are referencing in the comments section. I started to dig into this and came up with this useful post https://growthrocks.com/blog/linkedin-abtest-link-in-comment/ to me that all screams black hat, spamming and scamming... What does the Moz Community think? Sincere thanks for feedback and I hope you're safe - wherever you are... Rhiannon

Company FB Page Automatically Friend-Requesting Admins' Contacts
Hola, So today we added 3 or 4 admins to our company FB page. Our company FB consists of a 'profile' and that 'profile' has create a FB 'page' for the business. All of a sudden, the profile (not the company 'page') started to get a new friends. We thought this was weird as we weren't using this for promotion, we were using the company FB page. Anyway, when we dug a little deeper, we found the profile had automatically sent friend requests to all of the admins' contacts (around 2,000 people!). When we checked the friend request page, we realised we can't cancel all the requests, they have to be done individually! Why would FB do this? It might not be so bad if it was actually inviting the admins' contacts to 'like' the business page, but it's just adding them to the main profile's friend list. The only solution we can find is to deactivate/delete the profile and keep the company page with all the admin attached. Any ideas on this one? It's very weird and now it just looks like our fleldgling business is spamming people! Cheers, Lewis

Is it possible to get demographic data for a certain section of the website and only that area and not the whole site? Tools? Analytics? Suggestion.
I have a /blog/ section of the site that we would like to have separate demographic data for. But I am unable to figure out the way to create it in a custom report. Is there steps I need to include?

Why can't FB find this url?
The other day we updated an old blog post, http://www.kempruge.com/flashing-headlights-no-good-deed/, and while it uploaded fine to g+ and the page is live, for some reason, FB says it can't find it. This has never happened to me before, so I don't know what to do? I tried posting other links to FB from our site, and they all worked, so I know it's not a problem with our site. Then, I tried posting the link using other FB accounts, but they did't work. So I know it's not our FB page. I did do one thing that may have caused this problem, but not sure. After I updated this post, I scheduled it to post thinking it would do it immediately. I went to post the link on FB, before it was scheduled to publish in WP, and that's when I noticed it wasn't finding it. I went back to WP, and changed the schedule time. Once I did that, the page was live, but I can't get FB to recognize the page. It's like FB needs to clear its cache or something. Any ideas? Thanks, Ruben

Best way to utilize a BBC television appearance for Internet Marketing
I was just contacted by BBC and asked to appear on a breakfast program talking about psychotherapy. It is not certain that it is going ahead but more likely than not. Assuming it does what would you say would be the best way to utilise this opportunity through marketing (particularly internet marketing) afterwards? If this goes ahead I would be at the studio for 7am or so and be gone by 9am or so. My website only gets a few hundred visitors through organic traffic and my Twitter and other social media accounts were only started recently so have fairly low levels of followings.

Do's and Dont's for Facebook Html Satatic page
Hi All....just wanted to know if i can get some clarity on what is and is not allowed on the facebook static html pages. I build many that are brand oriented and am concerned about all the unclear rules that somehow i am not aware off....I do know that you cannot have any auto playing media on the page..like video and music....but not sure about a image slide show so i have made all slide shows to force manual. Can you guys share some of the cardinal do's and dont's for building these pages without unknowingly getting your clients page band......
