Sharing same IP address as competitor - Pros & Cons?
-
Hey there!
I was wondering is there were any particular 'Pros or Cons' to sharing the same server IP address as a competitors website which links back?
Site 'A' = http://goo.gl/N1JUO // Stockists of Site 'B' brand products
Site 'B' = http://goo.gl/fU9hc // Links to all Stockists of it products with a follow link including site 'A'
It is desirable for site 'A' to rank above site 'B' to reduce the volume of visitors finding other stockists linked to from the stockists page of site 'B' when searching for site 'A' primary broadest keyword. However, site 'B' is one of site 'A' best in-bound links. So does it matter that site 'A' is sharing the same server IP address as site 'B'.
Also should site 'A' have only 'no-follow' links to site 'B'?
Look forward to your input fellow SEOMozers
Cheers!
Ben

You want to avoid this. It makes the link less valuable because it looks like a site you own.
Both sites are on the same IP Address: 37.188.122.69
The important part is that they're both on the same C-Block - that's the technical way of saying that the third set of numbers is the same (122). You want to avoid that.
Regarding nofollow - I only use that for sites that I don't 'trust.' If there's a competitive site that I don't want to pass link value to, I try not to link to it at all.

Pagination & SEO
Hi We have automatically created brand pages based on which brand they have in their attributes. At the moment, developers have restricted the ability to properly optimise these for SEO, but I also wanted to look at how we should handle pagination. Example: http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/brand/manutan?page=1 http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/brand/manutan?page=2 http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/brand/manutan?page=3 Should we do any of the following - which I've found in an article: Put no follow on all links located on pagination pages Should we no index these pages as they are wasting crawl budget? - Don’t show links to page 2, 3, 4, 5… 10, 11, 12… at the end of your content but only a link to the next and previous pages so that you won’t dilute your page authority. Or does anyone else have any tips on how to handle these pages? Thank you!

Change of Address in Google Search Console
I have merged domains before and it went rather smoothly following the Moz Guide - https://mza.seotoolninja.com/blog/save-your-website-with-redirects . I've got a new challenge ahead of me though in that a client is buying the blog subdirectory associated with another domain. So it's the blog only, not the complete domain therefore a change of address for a site section doesn't exist. I believe the course of action will be the same except we'll just skip the change of address step since the original owner wants to maintain the TLD. Part of the contract is that we'll get the content which will be ported over to our domain and he'll maintain the 301's as requested and into perpetuity. Our domain is not brand new and has some credible links. Anyone encounter a transition of a partial domain before? Thanks for your help/suggestions.

Share Your Success Stories!
Sometimes, its nice to get a pat on the back, and it's always helpful to share tactics that work! The question is this: what's your biggest success story? Care to share any pictures or stories on how you got to the top? What do you attribute your success to? Here's one of our success stories - one of our clients wanted to be on the first page for the keyword "Morse Code." We never thought we'd be able to get them on the top of such a competitive keyword, but alas! We never gave up. Since this is a hobby website and not a website generating a huge amount of cash, it was easier to get incoming links from other people who were interested in the topic. I'd say we'd attribute our success to having great content and getting others to write blog posts and join in on the fun. What's your success story and how did you do it? showing-off-seo.jpg

SEO for Korea - Naver & Daum
Google and Yahoo have very little market penetration in the Korean markets. Instead, the popular search engines are Naver and Daum. Naver seems to like keeping traffic within its own network of sites. Does anyone have tips for what things might work to increase search visibility in Korea?
