We have written great content - how will people find it?
-
Hi
We have allocated resources to write some great content (how to's, best practice, videos) etc which will benefit customers as they will find it a useful resource.
We are using this not as a sales channel but as a trust and information resource to build a community
It is currently located about 2 levels deep in our website, what are the best ways of getting people to find these articles on the web?
I have placed some social sharing icons at the bottom of the page to Facebook and Twitter but are there other channels because at present the only way they will find this information as if they visit our website.
Do we also need to be practive and distribute this content around the web perhaps as a guest writer? which raises duplicate content problems as it would also be on our website or is there a better approach?

Time is what you need. The more you write and get indexed in google the more traffic google will send to those pages and future pages you write. Keep writing and then use social media to try and drive traffic to your site and help these pages rank better.
Tweet everytime your write something, put it on facebook and make sure you interact with people who are following/like your page that way they will be more inclined to help promote and share these pages.
I personally wouldn't put this content on another site as if their site is more powerful than yours and theirs get crawled first then you could well be in for duplicate content.

My Domain has a couple of badlinks decreasing my rankings, will disavowing them reduce my Domain Authority on Moz?
Good day Every Body, I have a heart aching issue, my site (nightwatchng.com) amassed a number carnivorous backlinks, I have lost rankings, i studied my search traffic and discovered that I have been hit by Google Penguin Algorithm Penalty, I was forced to believe that those backlinks were built to my site on purpose just so my rankings will drop, I know the importance of link building and thats why i follow the white hat technique. Now the big question is, IF I DISAVOW THESE TERRIBLE LINKS FROM GOOGLE SEARCH, WILL MY MOZ DOMAIN AUTHORITY DROP FROM WHAT IT CURRENTLY HAS?? I also want to know if the Algorithm Penalty will affect the subdomain (news nightwatchng.com) of my site?

Victim of negative SEO, but will this be believed if the client has not always been whiter than white?
A new client has come to me because they have found themselves in hot water with Google having received a manual spam action for unnatural inbound links. The sad case in this story is that I completely believe that the client has been a victim of an attack by a competitor. They finally made it onto page 1 in their competitive niche, and within a few days random links started appearing on spammy sites (often foreign language sites.) By the time the message came from Google about 2 weeks later several thousand of these links had been built. The first stage was to get the client to be very honest with me about anything he personally had done that might be considered manipulative. Unfortunately following some bad advice several months ago the client purchased one site-wide link (already in the process of removing it.) The same company that gave him this advice also built just under 100 links to his website (over the course of a couple of days) in early December. So - we know the client hasn't been whiter than white, and we are going to undo anything that he had responsibility for asap. We are also working to ensure that he is earning really high quality links in the right way (already have some great press coverage in the pipeline and are working on unique content.) My question is - given some past mistakes made by the client - is there any way that we credibly get across the fact that this recent huge volume of spam is absolutely nothing to do with him in a reconsideration request? Of course we can start work on removing these links and can disavow anything we can't remove - but my expectation is that should this be successful the same competitor is going to continue throwing spam links at my client. I appreciate that previous actions by the client would in themselves have been worthy of a manual spam action - but it seems far too much of a coincidence given the timing if this penalty was unrelated to the recent attack. I'd really appreciate any insights from the Moz community and will look forward to sharing our eventual success story as a YouMoz post! Tom

Will feeding a blog through a widget onto a wix site help rankings?
I have a client I am writing blog content for, however his site was recently redesigned on wix html5. They offer no native blog. I have used a widget to embed blog from another site, however does this help seo in any way? When people share on social media, etc., it is linking the embedded page, not the clients site, right? So it would not be giving any link juice to site. It also doesn't help for organic search of content if it is embedded, is that right? I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to overcome this issue. Would creating a "faux" blog on the Wix site work (as in multiple pages that I would then categorize and link to each other to navigate like a blog myself)? Wix looks like it has page length maximums too, so I'm not sure how I would get around that. It is also clunky to share on social media without a "share" button for viewer, but perhaps I am mistaken. Is that a ridiculous solution? What have other people done to deal with this issue and get better rankings with Wix platform? Thanks in advance for any input! I'm feeling a little frustrated with what to do.

Find simiar websites
We have a particular blogger that provides lots of links to our website every day. Can you recommend tools that provide data/analytics about other sites that might be similar as compared so we can partner with them as well? Thanks.

Finding links online that already exist as link juice based on search results
I'm curious about this, I can't find anything on the net that talks about it. I wrote an article about it on squidoo and have had no responses so I am thinking this is very rare subject. The question is I have done some backlink research with my competitors with linkdetective.com and found many links (even follow ones) related to sites that provide search results. Here are a link about what I am talking about as an example, I have found many more besides this one. http://search.lphant.com/es/webResults.html?q=free%20scrabble%20dictionary&hl=en&page=1&src=hmp_es&ref=1 My site appears in those results. When looking at the source there is no "nofollow". I found this page because linkdetective.com had this link listed pointing to my competitor. Are these valid backlinks? What I have been doing is adding these links to http://www.google.com/addurl so that Google knows about them. Is there something I am missing or are these valid?

How can I find all my "nofollow" back links?
I have reason to believe we're being penalized for having to many links with keyword anchor text, and these links are typically no follow. I wouldn't normally think a nofollow link could do this but I've exhausted all other options. Any idea how I can find these links?

Finding Writers for Guest Posting?
Having the toughest time finding writers. I've been pretty successful building links via guest posting, but the problem is I'm writing all the articles. It's seriously draining - and not scalable the way I'm doing. That said - anyone have tips on how to find high quality writers? I'm fine paying $50-$100 per article as long as it's great. Help?

Will No Follow Links count toward your root domain links for Domain Authority?
I am wondering if no follow links help, hurt, or do nothing when it comes to increasing page and domain authority? I know they are not supposed to pass rank and I have read discussions that some people suspect they still might, but I am wondering if I have a mix of follow plus no follow, will the no follow ones increase the count of the root domains linking to me and help boost my authority? Assuming of course the no follow links are coming from quality sites with high page and domain authority of their own. Thanks.
