Duplicating Product Titles in the Page-Content
-
I have been debating this with a few others within my office and we would like an outside opinion on this issue.
This screenshot is of a new product grid I have been designing. I have decided to try something new for SEO that I have seen elsewhere. (see attached image)
The page-content below the last products on the page, now have a small paragraph that contains all the products "titles" that are visible on the page. The intention is to capitalize on multiple search terms by using modifiers to replace special character sets within the title.
For example:
46" 3 Seat Perforated Square Picnic Table = 46 Inch 3 Seat Perforated Square Picnic Table
Not only does this give a secondary search term that could convert but increases the number if instances of "Table" within the page.
Suggestions or Thoughts?
Thanks!

I seriously doubt you would be penalized, but Google (the algorithm) is going to know you are just duplicating product titles and not give it any weight and ignore it. Why muck up the page for your human customers?
-
Here is the reason I'm entertaining this idea.
Each page needs some sort of relevant content within. Most resort to writing a small paragraph or two on the products they have listed within the page, and will use filler words and search terms to improve SEO.
My problem with this:
So you write a paragraph containing 150 words, yet only 10 of them are search terms for the actual products on the page. The remaining 140 words then appears to simply clutter and/or reduce the value of the words you were trying to optimize for the page.
And to counter the problem I am suggesting avoid writing a bogus paragraph as filler content and drop an array in at the footer with all the products title to multiply the number of times relevant words are used within the page.
So, pointless content with minimum search keywords or product title array's? We just don't know if we could get penalized in the eyes of Google. That's the last thing anyone wants to happen.
Thanks!

Great advice and I fully agree with you that its really pointless and creates nonsense on the page to the human customer. The main concern I have is getting penalized by crawlers for duplicating the title a second time on the page.
-
It might help pick up some long tail searches, but Google's good at doing the modifier substitution by itself. I wouldn't do it, since it looks bad to a human customer using your site.

We changed our domain, I used the move tool in Google Search Console and I am having our site redirected and go daddy, and now I spoke with someone who suggest we do a 301 redirect for all pages on our site and I’m not sure that’s the correct move.
We just changed our domain name after 15 years. when I bought the new domain name I called Go Daddy and they instructed me to contact my google G sweet admin account and change all of our emails over which I did and then I went into Shopify who is my host and changed my primary domain there and then I went back to Go Daddy and had my old website forwarded to my new site. since then there has been nothing but problems with Google. my product feed from my merchant center account has been suspended three or four times now, I tried to rename and move all of my Google accounts from my old domain to my new one, but I am not an SEO person... after making the changes I have started google chats with analytics department with the merchant center with Google as they all keep saying that it looks fine but I’m not convinced because the product feed keeps getting disapproved. So I posted an ad for help and the Guy I spoke with suggested I do a 301 redirect for every single page on my old site, But I’m concerned that might confuse things further? I’ve already started the move in Google Search console And in Shopify I added the old domain back into the domains section and am having it redirectEd that way too... I guess I’m just looking to know which way I should proceed, any and all advice is warmly welcome thank you in advance Maureen

If your brand name is the same as your URL should you include it in your homepage title tag?
I have always felt that having your brand name in every title tag though-out your website when your URL is your brand name is a waste. The space your brand name takes up could be used for more valuable non-branded keywords. If your brand name is unique, the URL (and content optimized with your brand name) should be enough to have you rank #1 across the board in search results. Though I beleive this I still think it is valuable placing your brand name in the back of your homepage title tag. Example: Full Service Advertising Agency | Your Brand Name Any thoughts why you should or shouldn't do this? Isn't this useful for branded purposes? Doe this help click-though rate? Don't you want your visitors to know our brand at first glance of search results? Another argument I had for doing it was if it weren't important, than why does every search site do this? http://moz.com/ http://searchengineland.com/ http://searchenginewatch.com/ http://www.seroundtable.com/ Thanks for the help!

How to make use of those traffics on non-conversion page?
I am working on a website which sells eBooks softwares, most of posts on the site are teaching people how to solve eBook-reading problems and will lead visitors to download and try the software. But some posts are not related to the software, we just write it for traffic, for example: link-bait post such as top xxx romantic eBooks, free eBooks tools review, etc. These posts have got a pretty considerable traffic, but visitors just come here, read, like/share/comment, then leave. Is there any way I can make use of these pages to convert? Thanks

Rich Snippets on service pages and how to aggregate?
Question about rich snippets.. I want to showcase reviews of the SERVICE's offered but I am not sure if I should include them on the service page, a review page or both. For example, we offer snow plowing and lawn care services and each service has its own page. I have reviews for both services under the my "testimonials" page. So, a couple questions. 1 - Should I pace a single review marked up on each service page? 2 - Does the review need to be a google review or can I use reviews from other sites? If not, do I need to notate that somehow using the schema vocabulary? Example, I have a 5 star review from thumbtrackDOTcom, is it ok to mark up the review and include a nofollow link? (No follow because thumbtrack is actually a competitor.) 3 - When I looked into creating an aggregate rich snippet I got confused / concerned. Is it ok to list multiple services as a product? Example: <div< span="">itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Product"> <span< span="">itemprop="name">Lawn Care and Snow Removal</span<> <div< span="">itemprop="aggregateRating" itemscopeitemtype="http://schema.org/AggregateRating">

Rated <span< span=""> itemprop="ratingValue">4.5</span<>/5
based on <span< span=""> itemprop="reviewCount">4</span<> customer reviews</div></div<></div<> 4 - When I tested the code above, no stars showed up in the preview. Do I need to mark up products as well? Am I doing it completely wrong 🙂 Thanks for any advice!!0 -
Time spent downloading a page increased drasticly
Hi Guys, We have found increased "Time spend downloading a page" drastically. Our website: www.learnenglishindublin.com Our company is located in Ireland, so we moved our servers from US to Ireland at the beginning of December. Also before increasing 'Time spend downloading a page" I did: I have installed plugins JCH Optimize (plugin is optimizing CSS and Javascripts [merging them]) I have installed ScriptsDown - which is moving all scripts to bottom of site. Pingdom tools shows that site is loading average of 2.7 secs. Pages are cached. Gzip is used. Our SEO rankings dropped from 1 page to 2 page. We have gone up in Google Maps search. Image sizes are about 1.7MB Any idea how things have actually gotten worse after this “improvement”? Thanks, Olivia increased.jpg

Listing Products With Descriptions: What Order Should They Be In?
This is more a user experience / conversion rate question than anything else. We sell several levels of membership to our organization. Seven to be exact. They range from Student memberships at $35 a year to very specialized memberships at $4,500 - $6,500 a year. I looked for information on how these products should be listed, but found nothing. Currently, they are listed with the most expensive level listed first. It's the only one displayed above the fold. I believe this is a bad choice. At a glance to a consumer, it looks like a membership costs $4,500 instead of a more reasonable (and more popular) $500 a year price. I don't want to start with the $35 option either. That is heavily discounted for students. Would it be odd to list the best sellers first and then have everything else listed underneath? Or does it need to be in price order? So, if anyone has an opinion or has had experience with something similar or has seen a case study, I'd appreciate the input. Thanks

Keeping pages indexed but making sure they fill out a form before access - confusing Q's
OK so let me break down this little scenario we have going on. I work for a b2b company so we have a lot of gated content that is behind a form fill out - this is how we get a lot of our lead generation. Some pages that we have behind the form are showing up in search which allows people to view the documents bypassing the form. At first I thought, well why dont we just no index that page so that it does not appear in search. But then I thought it would be smart to keep the pages indexed to keep the SEO value, Is there a way to keep these pages indexed but make sure that when they click the link in the SERPS that they need to fill out the form in order to gain access to the document? Something on the backend that checks to make sure that the referral URL was completed or something like that? Anybody deal with this before?

How to improve Time to First Byte? Page Load Speed
I am working with a ecommerce site that is having major issues with their load speed. The ttfb is...wait for it...7911 ms. I am not even sure where to start with this issue. If you have any recommendations, it would be appreciated. Is it the clients servers that are slow? They have went through multiple redesigns and have some code that could probably be deleted but I don't think it would make it that slow.
