Old data in OSE?
-
Hello,
I know the Mozscape was recently updated, but it's been a week and my site data ( DA, number of backlinks) in Open Site Explorer is still the same. The seomoz toolbar and my pro tools show my DA has increased ( I don't know of another way to verify my backlink count, so I'm not sure on that front). Any idea of the reason behind the disparity?
Thanks.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the reply. I understand how to pull numbers for the root domain, but I was just noting that the number in OSE is the exact same as it was prior to the most recent Mozscape update. It just seems odd that I would have the exact same number of links.
Also, any thoughts on why no update for the Domain Authority?

Hey Rich!
Thanks for writing in and sorry for the confusion there! It looks like the number that you're looking at in the Web App Competitive Domain Analysis tab is the total amount of links to the entire subdomain, but the number you're looking at in Open Site Explorer is the total amount of links to that page only. Sorry about the ambiguity there! The numbers at the top of OSE all pertain solely to that URL rather than to the whole subdomain or root domain, but you can get information about the whole subdomain or root domain by going here (as an example): http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/www.seomoz.org/a!metrics. Here's a screenshot of the numbers: http://markup.io/v/djd8djeptg5n. You can also look at all the links going to the sub/root domain by changing the filters in the "Linking Pages" tab.

Hey,
I seem to be getting some old data too - just links from websites that are no longer active. Don't think it's anything to worry about, just knuckle down on your site and check back in a week or so to see if any changes have been made. As long as you know what you've been doing (by keeping a log of it), there's nothing to worry about.
On the plus side, your DA has increased - that's gotta be worth a smile and a pat on the back!

Two PR 5 websites, but little to no link data in OSE. How??
As the title states - We've recently developed two sites for clients - within the last 4 months or so. With the Google PR update, both sites are sitting as PR 5 sites. I've tried to have a look in the OSE for the backlink profile of both websites, but I see nothing. Even Majestic SEO's fresh index doesn't provide much info. The DA of each site is 11-16. I would really love to see what's generating the link juice to these sites. Any ideas? The two sites are: https://bfore.co.za

Will SEOMoz offer URL data relating to Bot visits
Does SEOMoz in the future plan to report on Bot visits for each URL, when they are spidered and when they appear in for example Google's index ?

In OSE "Followed Linking Root Domains" = "links from homepages"
In OSE's, "Followed Linking Root Domains" are defined as "The number of root domains that have at least one followed link to a page or domain." Does this mean that if one of my competitors has, let's say, 1000 followed linking root domains, they have a link pointing to them on the homepage of 1000 other sites? Thanks for your help!

Using the 'Organic Traffic Data ' feature.
I don't have access to the clients Google Analytics Password. Can you set it up without being redirected to Google webmasters? Is there a way to insert a simple code into the website and then have SEOmoz double check the code? Thanks so much

Press Release - using moz bar/OSE is reading domain not page? How? Why?
A question posed by Christopher Glaeser from early today:low PA high DA, had a follow up response from him providing 2 urls from PR WEB for separate press releases: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/11/prweb8923419.htm (HP White) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 47 DA - 36 http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/12/prweb9051351.htm (Golfer's Advice) On moz bar Page Analysis/Link Data = PA - 1 DA - 96 I kept scratching my head as to how a press release of 6 weeks ago had garnered such attention from a company that would not seem to have a huge traffic due to more obscure product offering and scientific subject (Analyses of Armor Industry versus Golf Advice).

Then I realized that for HP White, Link Data was not about the PR. The url from mozbar was HPWhite.com not the above, I did not notice until I used OSE where same thing was happening. When I cut and pasted the above press release url for HP White and placed it in OSE this changed: PA - 49 DA - 96 (2 links 2 linking root domains) For Golfers advice (0 links from 0 linking domains) Note to all: the links to the PR WEB release for the HP included a low end directory type link and a link from PR WEB (. For Golfer's Advice there was not a link back to the release from PR WEB: Note that Golfer's Advice is a newer release (6 weeks). So, any link from HPWhite release would equal more juice to HP White and PR Web and Vocus. Any link to Golfer's Advice from release offers......???? to Golfer's Advice and who cares to Vocus and PR Web. So, I guess this begs a couple of questions: Why the mozbar link analysis difference for one versus the other? Does PR Web treat some differently than others? Who benefits most from me paying a PR Web to do press releases for a client, PR Web and Vocus or my client and I???? I have tried to order the images to make sense: L to R top, then bottom is last. Why is my domain not being indexed by OSE?
My domain: http://www.seoproim.com/ is not being analyzed by OSE for whatever reason. GWT and YSE can see the inbound links.... Whats up?
