Can Referral Programs pass Link Juice?
-
Does using referral programs, such as by using index.php?referral_id=0001 pass any link juice back to the page index.php?
I'm creating a web app that ideally I'd like people to be able to link to and bookmark - so that they can pull up their own settings.
Is there any way that I can solve both of these at once? The use of PHP GET and the use of SEO.
I'd really like to get a solution as I'm developing my new website!
Any help would be appreciated!

I wish I could help you with that one, I'm not too proficient in PHP. Maybe someone else with more development experience can answer?

Yeah thinking about it that would be great,so they land on a long URL with a few php vars in, then these are $_POSTed to the new form.... The page is then 301'ed, and then the content is displayed?
Any ideas on how to go about something like that? I'll have a look around our friend Google in the mean time!

I would imagine that the use of canonicalization or a 301 redirect would be the way to go. Can you set it up so that it tracks the referral ID, logs it, then 301s to your main index?

Internal linking anchor text with automated ASP.NET link building
Hi Everyone I really need some help here, the problem I have must be one that many have. I have a simple e-commerce style website so 1 product page can in fact get 40-50 internal links to it. These links come from a mixture of: 1. The parent category pages that the product sits on (Rugged PDA) and in turn the 10 filter pages of this category page (Rugged PDA, ordered by battery size). 2. Alternative product list on other product pages, So many products link to each other as alternatives. From Google analytics we can see that visitors like to browse product to product seeing 5 alternatives on each page with titles like "Smaller", "more rugged" etc. 3. Manufactuer pages, so we have a link to each product from each manufacturer home page where we talk lots about each manufacture we resell. We also have links from images used in the website. So its a nice usable website but we're finding that Google is still telling us in Webmaster tools that it thinks some links are dubious and we're trying to find out why. We only now have 190 external links to the website, most are internal and from the website or our blog on a subdomain. The problem we think is that we generate the category and products pages all dynamically so the anchor text is looking the same. Will this potentially create issues for us? Dave

Can you get "link juice" from an outside company's/organization's intranet?
Will you get the same "link juice benefits" from a University, Government Org, or public company's intranet that are linked to your webpages – vs the benefits that you would get from links from their public webpages? Assume that the external webpages have very high Domain Authority, MozRank/Trust etc.

Changing links
Hi guys i wanted you views on changing the anchor text of links. I have quality links coming in but with year terms such as 2012 in there, if i want to change them all to 2013 for example would it be badly seen by Google? I cant say i feel comfortable about doing it but they are my links and are related to our products. Any advice much appreciated.

Links or Redirect?
My client's company has just acquired another company in the same industry and with that acquisition came two websites; companyname.com and companyname.co.uk. companyname.com has PA13 and DA10, companyname.co.uk has PA15 and DA10. At the moment, the two companies are to be run as separate companies but will become fully merged in time. My client's own website is brand new (PA1 and DA) and I'm wondering what is the best way to use these other two sites to improve my client's search ranking. Should I use the two sites to link to my client (these would be logical and natural links e.g. explaining the acquisition, under new management) or would it simply be better to redirect the domains to the new site? Many thanks

Do people think it is worth setting up a twylah.com page? Does it have value in adding link juice and content from our tweets?
I have seen the site www.twylah.com which produces a permanent page of your tweets for your fans or search engines to see. Has anyone experimented with this, and does it provide benefits, or is it just another distraction I should stear clear off. Any advice, thoughts or discussion appreciated.
