How Would You Plan Long Term SEO (1 year and more)?
-
Hi,
I'm new to SEO and learning fast. Myself joined together with my friends have set up a string of websites each for different products to sell online. To start with we have finalized keywords, optimized the on-page using the on-page analysis tool and right now about to start working on link building.
For the first month we have planned to do around 20 bookmarking, 3 articles each to 15 article directories, 30 directory submissions (priority to niche based), business page listing in hot frog etc, 3 articles each submitted to 10 web 2.0 properties, 1 press release to 15 pres release sites, some Q&A links and few blog comments, 10 video submission and 1 guest blogging.
We have also completed setting up facebook fan page and twitter account and active in them too. For anchor text diversity we will be using keywords only in links from article submission and web 2.0. For links from other methods, the anchor text will be either website name or website url. And we will be targeting 4 keywords per website (2 keywords for home page and 2 for 2 sub-pages). The difficulty level of the keywords range from 40% to 60%. Now, I have few questions which I believe the experts over here can help.
1. For the first month we have planned the above link building, but hpw build links from different websites in coming month?
2. For web 2.0 properties we can keep adding articles to the same blog we have created or we need to create separate set of web 2.0 properties for each month.
3. Are we missing any link building methods or strategy? If so, can you please tell me the method?
I know some of the questions might be silly, but being a beginner it would be a great help to know the answer for these questions from this community.
Thanks,
Sridhar

You need to come up with highly unique and engaging content that will benefit users like in depth product reviews or writing about your industry, make it good and it will generate it's own links and social shares. Relevant business directories are still good, but will not get you ranking high on their own. Since you sell products try using product feeds to syndicate to other sites as well.

Thanks for the reply, I think I would stop the link building as of now and start learning about the link building from SEOMoz beginners guide. But from your opinion where do you think I can start my link building?

Scrap all of this and use the time to learn seo. These tactics may have worked 5 years ago, but you will mostly be wasting your time doing this. I advise totally against 'submitting 1 article to 15 press sites' or the articles. Learn about duplicate content.
1 high-quality, engaging article submitted on a relevant industry website will be worth way more than spun articles on low quality article directories that probably do not pass any value. Sorry the above strategy just seems weak and ineffective, you need to spend your time learning about seo and content strategies and SEOmoz beginners guide is a good place to start.

Will Moving Categories Affect SEO
I recently designed a new website to replace an old site. We managed to hold 90% ranking and traffic by keeping the same URS's and content. Now that we have completed that we are now updating the whole site. It is an commerce website. Some of the items we were selling we are getting from a new vendor. If I move these products from one one vendor to another will this affect SEO? Here is an example. I have a product called "Green Zipper Sweater". This product is Anchored via Manufacturer and Category. The URL and Title Tag are green-zipper-sweater. If the Sweater was made by "Nike Green Sweaters" and our new supplier is "Gap Yellow and Green Sweaters". If I change the the Manufacturer and now put it under "Gap Green and Yellow Sweaters" will this affect my ranking. We are continuing to stock products from the original supplier "Nike Green Sweaters" and we have an aggressive SEO plan and are ranking very well for "Nike Green Sweaters". We also have good product ranking so "Green Zipper Sweater" brings us a lot of traffic. I want to be sure I do not loose ranking for the product page "Green Zipper Sweater" and the Brand "Nike Green Sweaters" Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide. SEOMoz Crawling Only 1 Page
I entered a new site into my dashboard 2 days ago - everything looked kosher, there were a few hundred pages crawled and a whole bunch of errors. I came back this morning to start work on the site and SEOMoz has crawled the site again, this time returning only 1 page and 0 errors. I haven't even logged in to the site since the first crawl, so I couldn't have broken anything. Has anyone seen this before?

Why did SEOMoz only crawl 1 page?
I have multiple campaigns and on a few of them SEOMoz has only crawled one page. I think this may have to do with how I set up the campaign. How do I get SEOMoz to crawl more than one page on these campaigns.
