SeoMoz says I have no link, when I know I have. What's going wrong
-
I know I have backlinks to the site, they are not showing up on SeoMoz. I've only recently started the account. Can anyone help?
-
As mentioned you may need to wait a little while for the index to update.
-
In the blog post that Highland mentions it says that the latest index consists mostly of crawls done in May, so any linkbuilding done after that won't be showing yet.
-
Also, if your site is brand new, it won't show any links. Usually, by the time SEOmoz comes out with a new index update, it already at least a month old.
-
SEOMoz doesn't crawl the whole web.
SEOMoz find new links every 4-6 weeks on its recurrent spidering paths around the web.
It now shows a link for me that has dropped out - with present technology vs practicalities business-wise it can't physically go real-time yet
-
Remember that SEOMOZ simply crawls the web, parses that crawl, and then updates its index. If these were recent links, they might not show up yet. Also, according to Rand's blog, the index has shrunk for some technical reasons. They are working on fixing them.

How much 'ranking power' would a link from a privacy policy page of a Big Brand have if the site content is totally unrelated?
Let's say that Site A is a large brand with high authority ( Moz shows it at 90 DA). Site A is about “Blue Shoes”. Site B is about “fishing”. If Site A links from their privacy policy page to Site B … would that inbound link carry enough weight in a way that could impact rankings for Site B given that the content is totally unrelated and it's a link from a privacy policy? I’m asking if the work to get clients/partners do this help. I have a hypothetical question for you all! Site A is a large brand with high authority ( Moz shows it at 90 DA). Site A is about “Blue Shoes”. Site B is about “fishing”. If site A links from their privacy policy to Site B … would that inbound link carry enough weight in a way that could impact rankings? Linking to press coverage, reciprocal links?
We have been generating decent online press coverage with links to our site thanks to our PR agency and I have been asked to link to the online coverage from our website in a 'press coverage' section. My question is would google consider links from our site to the online press coverage as reciprocal links? Thanks

Reciprocal links
Are they worth anything, if they are from relevant sites? I'm I better off avoiding linking back wherever possible?

Links aren't showing up in SEOMOZ resports
Hi, I've been building links to my client's website for the past 3 weeks. I know that there are several sites that link to my client's website now but SEOMOZ's link analyses says there aren't any sites linking to my client's website. Anybody know what's up with that? Sincerely, Rex

"Activating" Links - Do External Links Have to Be Clicked On to Really Have Value?
I heard an SEO talk about the concept of "activating" a link - meaning that if an external link to your site exists, but google doesn't detect that it has gotten any actual clicks, they will significantly discount or ignore the value of the link. Obviously between Chrome, toolbars, and GA, google does have a lot of ways to detect whether a link has gotten clicks. What is the SEOmoz take on this issue?

Should a site run it's own affiliate program to get inbound links?
I've recently signed an ecommerce client who runs their affiliate program through Commission Junction. If they were to bring their program in-house and eventually get all those affiliate links pointed to their domain, would those links be counted?
