Does Google really ignore Noindex pages?
-
Assume I may have some pages of my site that don't have a lot of text on them, and I have to keep them on the site. Let's say there are no more than 50 like this out of 400 great pages, and the ratio of great-to-short pages continues to increase.
If I no index the short ones, will Google really ignore them in search? Will they ignore them enough to not downrank my site due to the short, noindexed pages?
I know, theoretically, they are supposed to ignore them, but I don't always trust all the rules.

If you noindex the short pages, Google will (or at least should) ignore them in search.
This is a commonly employed tactic for large E-commerce sites to their indexed product pages to allow them to concentrate their efforts on the more mainstream product lines.
Everett Sizemore covers this technique in his E-commerce SEO pro-webinar

Yes according to Google:
"How does Google handle nofollowed links?
In general, we don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using
nofollow
causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. However, the target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without usingnofollow
, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap. Also, it's important to note that other search engines may handlenofollow
in slightly different ways."http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=96569

Separate service page for each key-word we're ranking in
Hello guys, I have a service-based website. Right now, I have around 30 commercial pages for different services, that we offer. I came up with idea to add service page for each keyword we're ranking in. For example, we offer home-construction service and we have 1 commercial page for this service. I will create 10-20 pages for keywords, related to home-construction services.

For example: bricklaying, Fundamental works, Landscape works, Concrete works, etc. I saw similar approach on this website. It's a link on bricklaying page: https://kiev.kabanchik.ua/ua/category/kladka-kirpicha If you scroll down you will see section with keywords, related to bricklaying and each keyword has separate page with duplicate content. My questions are: Do you know the name of this SEO tactic, so I can google more information about it? Do you think that it's good idea to use similar approach in order to improve your rankings for certain keywords? Is it a dangerous SEO tactic that may cause some penalties for your website or it's completely safe? Would you allow guest writers to have google adsense on your site
Hi, i am thinking of building a website where 30% of the writers would be guest bloggers and i was thinking about letting guest bloggers have adsense on the site. What i was thinking of doing was, allowing the guest blogger to have one google adsense advert on the page of the article but not sure what people think. The new magazine would be on one topic but i am worried incase the person kept on pressing the google adsense advert to get money in. The google adsense code would be there code, does anyone know if there is a way from hiding their code so they do not know which one is their google adsense advert, and do people think this is a good idea. This would only be offered to people who write good quality interest content. will be interested to hear your thoughts

Removing decent PA and PR pages?
I currently have some html pages that have camtasia videos demo-ing our products; however, these videos are WAY outdated and we no longer want to maintain them. The are only videos, no text at all is on the page. The pages have an average page authority of 40 and mR of 4. Should I just remove these pages or should I create a redirect to the homepage or product page? Or...? I have roughly 30 or 40 of these types of pages. Thanks for any help. Mike
