Hi,
When a blog owner posts my article with a no-follow tag applied to the anchor text link pointing out I kind of get the feeling as soon as Google indexes this article with that tag applied its game over and that article is now dead, even if the blog owner changes it back to follow after Google has found it.
I do a lot of guest blogging and it seems as though when Google first crawls the new content for the first time and follows the link something extra passes through.
For example: I guest posted on a blog and the article was 'follow', I sore a increase in rankings for about 3 weeks, then the article got flagged in My Blog Guest that it had been changed and I noticed a no-follow tag had been applied.
Ranking dropped back down by the time I had contacted the blog owner and asked him to change it, which he did and still it is follow but I never sore rankings come back, it was like soon as Google had seen the article link was 'nofollow' changing it back made no difference.
I could be completely wrong as this is just guessing but its almost like when a link is tampered with it indicates its not a natural link.

I'd say we can only guess... There are so many variables here. Guest posts may go down the archive and thus the link value may be decreasing. Or possibly there are some flags - which would be not a smart idea though because I see dozens of blog who nofollow links with no intention (because of installing a new WP plugin. So honestly, I don't have the answer.

Hi, Like the robots declaration in the head section of a website (index,follow,etc.), Google should use the latest version of the rel tags to makes its decision to pass PageRank or not. The next time a page is crawled, if the rel="nofollow" was removed, Google should count the external link in its calculation of weight for the intended site. In plain English, the link should be counted and you'll get your juice.

You may have a point. Or maybe the link was simply one that gave quick gains and then Google 'normalised' your keyword ranking after crawling the link.
It's fairly common for Google to take a couple of days if not longer to normalise rankings when you gain a new link and to put you in the correct position. This might just have been a case of you moving up and down and then stabilising.

Odd. Unique seo question - Can you help?

We have nearly 30,000+ paid members on the inside that put up real estate listings (properties for sale). The members do this on their own. From an SEO stand point it sort of feels like we have a huge team of content creators putting up unique content for us. To see what I'm talking about I'll drop some links so you can review: In this first link you'll see a member of ours advertised on the NYTIMES and the clickable anchored text waterfront leads back to us or I should say the members listing. Think of this on a mass scale. When someone advertises their public profile or their listing depending on the site they advertise on or the anchored text they use it's helping our domain. Again, all of this is happening on its own we aren't pushing SEO. This simply is real estate agents and brokers doing their job and in return our Domain Authority and Page Rank is climbing. Our monthly traffic is climbing. The number of keywords we rank for is increasing. This situation must be unique because wouldn't you say that in most cases with a website they have a blog. Someone needs to write good content then try to get it linked. But in our situation our members are creating (unique content) and publishing it. How do we capitalize on this though? or I should say capitalize in a bigger way? To help everyone benefit would it be to possibly teach the members some basic SEO. What if the name of their public profile was key worded or what if we explained advertising that listing, Sharing it, getting it on other sites would benefit them. To have them link back to their profile or listing page. Maybe give them a list of suggested sites? Maybe give them a list of possible anchored texts they could use which would be keywords we want to rank for? What are your thoughts? Morally Right vs Strategic 404 Question
Hey, I bought my domain name not even thinking of the backlink profile advantages. However, now I have about 140 links back to my site delivering 404 errors. Some with DA only in the teens, but some more. What would you consider the right way to go about this? Should I redirect them to my homepage? Should I try to disavow them? Any thoughts are welcome.

The No of Sites linking to www.apollopowersystems.com is 50 as per Alexa, but Moz shows that the no of sites linking is 23\. The no has increased in Alexa but in Moz the no is 23 since 3 months. Why is this Difference?

Are there any services similar to pingler.com
Hi, i always used pingler.com to drive traffic to my sites but for some reason in the past couple of weeks i cannot get onto the site, i think there could be something wrong with my ip address, not sure. I have spoken to virgin nearly everyday and all i get off them is to turn off my internet for one week to get a new ip address and see if that works, now there is no way i can turn the internet off for one week. So i am now trying to find another service as good as pingler.com as i cannot see anyway of getting this problem sorted unless if someone has any ideas. I would like to know if anyone uses services that offers what pingler.com offers and if they could please list them here many thanks

About Paid Ads/links - Question
My name is Benny, i am writing here from account of my uncle, because he is a pro member, and i am a student dont have money to pay premium package. Now, I have placed some ads/links on a strong domains, for about 8 months, i paid always, but about 6 weeks i was sick, on hospital, and i have forget to renew the links, and now are removed, and ranking down too. My question is, can i restore the links with same anchors on the same places again on the same sites, or what to do? it's this danger if a link was for a 6 weeks down, and now again to re-place, some of them are 3-4 weeks,and some 6 weeks, it's this danger to replace again or not? What do you suggest me?
