It's all about targeting the right keywords. Sadly it is an area that lots of people get wrong and then are left wondering why they don't have traffic.
However you are promoting a niche product, so you don't have to compete on the really big terms. You've done well on the villa terms - maybe start down another seem next: maybe luxury accommodation.
-
Thank you Mat for clarification.
Now I see how it goes per keywod tool of google and am not sure now what to target at all in my SEO to get the clicks . At the end GA tells the truth and I have not targeted good keywords even am targeting strong keywords and for example amalfi coast villas or sardinia villas but there is not guarantee that I will get clicks .
Can you tell me ones more please. How can I get real organic search resuts for particular keyword just as you promote on the picture you sent me . Thanks
-
See the attached image.
Broad match searches are 4400. Phrase match are 73. Exact match are 36.
Broad match is useful if you are doing PPC, but less so for organic search. In short they are saying that:
36 searches a month are match for "switzerland villas"
73 searches a month are made for phrases containing "switzerland villas"
4400 searches a month are made for phrases that google thinks are related to "switzerland villas". That might include "swiss hotels" for all we know.
As I said - it is VITAL to understand what those numbers represent if you are doing your own SEO work.
-
Thanks but dont get it simple as I am going on google keyword tool and it tells me global search is 4400 and not 73. Local Gb search is 1300. I do understand it is a phrase and it can be and switzerland villas and villas in switzerland villas switzerland but on all am in first 5 .
I dont get where you get this results of global search for this term 73 global monthly searches as I per google see differente as above?
Thanks
-
Sorry - that just isn't a great phrase. As a phrase match "Switzerland villas" only has 73 Global monthly searches. As an exact search [Switzerland villas] has just 36. Although kwt estiates are never particularly accurate at small numbers, you are not going to get more clicks than there are searches.
The broad match numbers are not really relevant if you are focusing on the organic term.
I'd broaden the phrases you are targeting. Chalets would seem to be a word with more potential for Switzerland.
-
does it means that is nothing if i have keyword switzerland villas or villas switzerland with search 4400 global and GB 1300, on the 3-7 position on .com and Uk google cant get not even a 100 cliecks a month for ?
-
Looking just at that first key term: (initials cdav). keyword tool shows 210 GLOBAL searches on a broad match. <10 on local. However switch that to a phrase match and it is <10 on global.
That means that any traffic from that term is a good thing. It just is not a busy phrase.
When doing keyword research it is absolutely vital that you understand the difference between broad, phrase and exact match.
I doubt that is the answer you were hoping for, but I hope it helps none the less. I would start researching additional terms.

sent per PM . Thanks
-
Can you share the keywords (by PM if not publicly)
-
I dont know . Its results by SEOMOZ. The keywords are good ..but simpple dont understand why isnt it shown as well and on the GA
Thanks for clarification
-
There are really 3 possible causes.
- You aren't ranking as well as you think you are
This is probably the least likely, but depending on how you are checking results you might not be ranking as well as you think. If you are using seomoz rank checker you can ignore this one. - Your click through rate in the results isn't good
Best way to check this is through Google Webmaster Tools. That will show you your CTR in the organic results. It could be that your snippet just isn't engaging people - They keywords you are targeting aren't as busy as you thought
The most common reason for this that I see if that people base their traffic expections on "broad match" in the keywords tool.
Hopefully that will start you off in the right direction.
- You aren't ranking as well as you think you are

Filter Pages
Howdy Moz Forum!! I have a headache of a job over here in the UK and I'd welcome any advice! - It's sunny today, only 1 of 5 days in a year and i'm stuck on this! I have a client that currently has 22,000 pages indexed to Google with almost 4000 showing as duplicate content. The site has a "jobs" and "candidates" list. This can cause all sorts of variations such as job title, language, location etc. The filter pages all seem to be indexed. Plus the static pages are indexed. For example if there were 100 jobs at Moz being advertised, it is displaying the jobs on the following URL structure - /moz
Moz Pro | | Slumberjac
/moz/moz-jobs
/moz/moz-jobs/page/2
/moz/moz-jobs/page/3
/moz/moz-jobs/page/4
/moz/moz-jobs/page/5 ETC ETC Imagine this with some going up to page/250 I have checked GA data and can see that although there are tons of pages indexed this way, non of them past the "/moz/moz-jobs" URL get any sort of organic traffic. So, my first question! - Should I use rel-canonical tags on all the /page/2 & /page/3 etc results and point them all at the /moz/moz-jobs parent page?? The reason for this is these pages have the same title and content and fall very close to "duplicate" content even though it does pull in different jobs... I hope i'm making sense? There is also a lot of pages indexed in a way such as- https://www.examplesite.co.uk/moz-jobs/search/page/9/?candidate_search_type=seo-consulant&candidate_search_language=blank-language These are filter pages... and as far as I'm concerned shouldn't really be indexed? Second question! - Should I "no follow" everything after /page in this instance? To keep things tidy? I don't want all the variations indexed! Any help or general thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks.0 -
How can you tell how many pages rank for a particular keyword?
I know with ranktracker I can see a page that will rank for a certain keyword. What if I have multiple pages that rank for this keyword? How can I see all pages that rank for it?

Concerned About Individual Pages
Okay. I've setup a campaign for www.site.com and given a list of keywords. So after the initial crawl we'll have some results. What I'm looking for tho is how do individual pages on my site rank for the list of keywords given. And then be able to go to a screen in seomoz with data for that particular page with recommendations and stuff like that. Is this what's going to happen or do I need to create a campaign for each url i want to track? If all will work as I'd like in the example above, should I then add the second list of keywords that some other pages should rank for? Will it get to be a big mess or can I relate the keywords to pages in some way? It seems like what I'm looking for is what this program should be... Thanks!

On Page URL's not updating?
I recently moved my site to Shopify which completely changed the URL structure. I went to my old pages and created permanent 301 redirects to my new pages on shopify. For some reason, the On Page reports are not picking up on one of the new pages. This is effecting my grading. Just wondering why this is happening & whether this may be an indication of a larger problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Image Asset pages shown to have Page Authority
When looking at top pages for my site in www.opensiteexplorer.org I'm seeing a bunch of asset pages being listed to have page authority. How could this be? Is open site explorer mistaken? Here is a page with a PA: 24 http://www.minespress.com/catalogassets/thumbnails/0000437_atx_software_compatible_folders.jpg

Finding page authority for a list of sites
I went to Distilled's linklove conference earlier this week. Many of the presenters showed spreadsheets where they had pulled in Page Authority for a long list of sites. What tool can you use to quickly do this? For instance, I want to be able to copy a list of 100 sites into a tool and have it spit out the PA for every site...anybody know how to do this?

Why did SEOMoz only crawl 1 page?
I have multiple campaigns and on a few of them SEOMoz has only crawled one page. I think this may have to do with how I set up the campaign. How do I get SEOMoz to crawl more than one page on these campaigns.

Keyword ranking - authority information
How can you explain that a website (not mine) appears on 1st place in Google (on the Keyword Difficulty Tool/Ranking Analysis) but the Page Authority, Page Linking Root Domains, Domain Authority, and Root Domain Linking Root Domains are much lower than the other websites on the list. Even when running the On-Page Report Card, this website gets grade F comparing to the other (including mine) websites that get better grades. I just want to understand which criteria I'm missing that can explain why a website appears on first place when it seems it's not well optimized. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
