Multiple Listings in Larger City with Multiple Addresses?
-
My client's small biz is going after a highly competitive keyword phrase for a medium sized city.
Question. Currently has 3 biz addresses. The oldest is farthest away from Geographic location we are now targeting.
1)Would I be best served to change all listings to newest address
-
Or 2nd most common address and 2nd closest to geo-area
-
Go with farthest but most established address which has been address listed on website for the past year. Domain name has been owned for a couple of years.
When I look in getlisted.org oldest and farthest address most established has 55% completed, 2nd farthest is 23% and of course newest and latest but in-town is 0%.
Thanks for ideas!

Hi Again,
While it's fine to use the home address as one of the legit locations, the UPS store is taboo. It should be removed, web-wide, to avoid possible penalties of the entire account. You will need to let the client know that this violation of the guidelines could get him into serious hot water, and that he's going to need to invest in some man hours to find and remove any citations that exist of the business at the non-permitted address.
This will then leave you with 2 physical addresses (the home address and the other one), both of which can be optimized for without detracting from the rankings of either. Think about McDonalds and how many locations they might have within a given city.
What will be vital is that you make certain that BOTH addresses are using the 'hide address' function in Google Places as this is a service-type business.
Ideally, if one is starting a new business or moving offices, there can be some benefits to getting an address as close as possible to the centroid of the city, but again, theses would need to be legit addresses. It sounds to me like you've got 2 good addresses to work with and one that needs to be removed.
-
Sure. Out of 3 address, only one is where the biz is actually located, but the biz travels to customer homes for the work, they are landscaping company. It doesn't really matter where I promote trying to figure out what's best.
So the other 2 addresses are not actual (one is a UPS store/Suite# in town, the other is his home).

Hi Greenhornet77,
Like Moosa, I might need a bit of clarification on the scenario you are describing. If the client has 3 legitimate physical locations (not P.O Boxes or virtual addresses, but real offices), has 3 distinct local phone numbers (one for each location) and has in-person transactions with his customers either at his locations or at theirs, then you would want to optimize for all 3 locations, both on the website and in citation building. You are allowed to have a listing for each location, providing it meets the above criteria.
Does this answer your question, or do you need to provide further details about the nuances of the situation? Please, just let me know.

It's the suburbs,so the addresses are only 10-20 miles apart.
I guess that is the question, since this is such a competitive keyword, am I diluting my work by having 3 addresses?
-
I guess it depends on what type of business you are speaking about. If it is for a retail shop then you would want the location most relevant to a user. I am not sure what you mean by far away from a geographic location. A completely different city or the suburbs? You could consider using the Schema.org Organisation tagging and treat your preffered location as the head office. Also consider linking from your local search directories as it is remarkably overlooked how frequently they influence Google Local results (especially outside the US) . Domain age is only one relevant factor here. What is most relevant for the user and what is the matching localtion most capable of delivering?
I would then focus my internal linking structure with location relevance to your preferred "biz address"

I am not sure the question itself is quite confusing but as far as my understanding goes here is the answer:
If a client has 3 different business addresses in 3 different cities that mean you can include 3 listings for client so why choose anyone, why not include all and optimize them completely?
You can always get a way to completely optimize the listing and get reviews (in terms of local)... if this is what you are looking for.

If I get multiple links from one domain, will that help my rankings?
Hello, I have developed a relationship with a blogger in my niche. He has published a guest post of mine with a link back to my site. Does it make sense to keep providing him with content to build different links from different pages within the same root domain? Thanks! Ricardo

How do Domain Authority and the Price of a Paid Listing Relate?
I'm just starting to do some in-house link building for the first time. Having looked at some of our competitors it seems that they have paid for links on some B2B sites and I was wondering how the Domain authority and the price charged were related. The follow up question is then how do you estimate the ROI of a link? So for example looking at a site with a DA of 30 and a page authority of 17 how much should one pay for the link? How do you decide how much you should pay for a link - and whether it is value for money? btw I'm not interested in buying links I'm curious 🙂 Thanks for any thoughts

Should I use general keywords or city specific keywords for back link campaign?
I am working on a new client that offer appliance repair in all of california and I was wondering would it be ok if I just target general keywords like "appliance repair" instead of city specific keywords like "los angeles appliance repair" for the back link campaign . I am sure city specific would be better for rankings, but would the general keywords help local seo at all? What is the best way to go about this with out having to make a city specific page for all listings? thanks

EBay listing links SEO value?
Hi guys, Our website has an eBay widget which lots of eBay users put on their listings. We are thinking of using that as a way to get links from eBay listings. However, since most eBay listings will disappear after 90 days, is this worth doing and also will Google count those links? Many thanks David

Anyone have a list of paid directories?
I want to get into some good paid directories, but every list I have found out there is either just a top ten and repeats the same ones or is a list of 500 where I know most are worthless. Has anyone submitted to paid directories that has a list of good ones that are actually worth submitting to?

"Diverse" Links from same IP address worth the work?
Hi folks, This is my first posting, so please be nice with me 🙂 I have completed an all-new website (www.buy-hosting.net) , however the domain is bought and already exists since 2 years, but has no inbound links though. Now I start building links. I have some clients of my web design business, I could bring in links to my new site on their sites from different domains, some established and years old. However, they all are hosted at the same IP address. Is it a good idea for link diversity to post links on their site to my new one? I remember a thing, that only 1 link will be counted, originating from the same IP address. Is this worth the work of asking clients, posting links, etc.? Or is it even dangerous to my new site? Also, any other ideas about how to start link building are welcome. Is there a comprahensive list, something like a "startes guide with practical ideas" to link building? Thank you and kind regards
