Submitting to directories all at once? i.e. within the same week or 2?
-
I have found a bunch of around maybe 20-30 directories that we seem not to be in, and that seem like they might be worth it from what I am reading…
My question is - is it a problem to submit to this number of directories all at once – i.e. within the same week or 2?
Or should I think about spreading the submissions around a month or 2?
Just worried that Google etc might through a flag with a bunch of submissions all at once…
Thanks

Submitting to 20 or 30 directories should not have any negative impact at all. Another thing to remember is that the engines will not find these links at the same time anyway. They will be found when each of those pages are crawled which could be days or in some cases weeks and months. So no, no problems at all.

Any time clients ask me "What is a 'safe' link velocity?" I say - picture this - if it's something that feels like it can be achieved by a human manually taking action, then it's safe.
So if a human can submit to 20 or 30 directories all in a week or two that's safe. Because that's what a full time marketer would do for any company. It's when you instantly get hundreds or thousands of links from potentially shady sites that sets of the biggest red flag. And there's other signals that also imply "unnatural", which get factored in as well.
Truthfully, I've seen a site get tens of thousands of links in a single month and not have a problem. Think about it - send out one piece of very good viral material, and BANG - thousands of links.

Central Index Directories
Hi all, I'm based in the UK and i'm looking to submit to a several directories under the central index umbrella, for example to these directories: http://findit.chad.co.uk/ http://directory.nottinghampost.com http://directory.burtonmail.co.uk/ I've filled my profile out and have submitted to one of the above directories, however when I sign in to one of the other directories it asks me to re-fill out all my details. Is there not a way i can submit to several of these directories by signing in without confirming my telephone number for each one ? Many Thanks in advance Paco

Stuck on page 2
I had a site that was ranking for hundreds of keywords, I got hit with a link penalty, got the link penalty removed by creating disavow file, reconsideration request. Last couple of months my site is stuck on page 2 and won't seem to move up. Thoughts?

Link Directories
Hi there, We're very shortly launching a new website so as part of our link strategy we will be linking to directories found with the Link Acquisition Assistant for various keyword searches. I was wondering at what point is it not worthwhile submitting to these directories with regards PA and DA? For example if a directory has a domain authority of 69 but the page authority for the keyword in question is only 1, would it be a waste of time? Cheers

Is bold text anchor link worth the higher price tag in directory listing?
Does it make a difference with Google if anchor link text is bold? The niche directory is offering regular lifetime listing for $199 (actual page pr 6) or bold for $349 (same page, same position). Also bold link has option of including email address. Does email address have any effect on SEO? Seems like a bad deal for bold, isn't it?

What does it mean to ping you web 2.0 backlinks?
We know that a major backlinking strategy is to create web 2.0 articles linking to your main money site. But these web 2.0 articles also need to be recognized by google, so people tell me I need to ping them? What does that mean?

Recently two of my clients purchased a listing in the Yahoo Directory, but they don't show up in the SEOmoz campaign analysis. Is there a reason why?
