Social or SEO?
-
all,
would you consider social bookmarking to be part of an SEO package or a Social Media Package?
thanks
-
I don't think you can really separate the two. As Rand pointed out a few months ago, likes and tweets play an important part in ranking now. So I would consider it a necessity for an SEO to be able to maximize social media exposure.

I would say that social bookmarking is part of SEO and social media - it is effectively an element of social media, but it is also commonly used within link-building strategies.
Also, with social signals now included within Google's ranking criteria, SEO and social media are becoming even more closely connected.

Social media and SEO are inseparable. For SEO done the old school way it is now very difficult to bring a keyword to #1 and retain it especially if it is competitive. You may achieve rankings for long tailed keywords with minimal social media but it matters in the long run. Your SEO program should include different levels of social media programs based on pricing.
-
I also think it is more closely moves towards SEO and now is part of the SEO strategies.

Odd question as Social Media done correctly impacts SEO. So yes, social bookmarking is Social Media and it does impact SEO.

Social bookmarking should be part of an SEO package. But its important to remember that digg is not a social bookmarking website, it is a social news site. Social bookmarking in its purest form is just delicious, jumptags and the like. If you have a few dozen employees, have them maintain regular social bookmarking accounts. Have them use these accounts to bookmark all sorts of stuff. Then when you have a new client, they can integrate a few of the client's pages into their bookmarking profils. This way you don't look like a bunch of spammers or unnatural users.

The two most recent Whiteboard Friday videos on the topic of correlation showed that the top-ranking webpages in Google generally have a healthy amount of social media exposure. This suggests that Google is using social media data to determine rankings.
Based upon that social media promotion can legitimately be considered part of SEO. So the answer to your question would be "both".
However, I don't think that having a team of people or robots bookmarking content is the best way to go. Instead if you have content that gets bookmarked on its own merits you will not have to go to the effort of bookmarking.
If you have great content tossing it out to social media sites will be like tossing gasoline on a fire.

Recommended Social Media Scheduling platforms
I am currently using BufferApp to schedule my social media posts. My scheduling gets messed up at least once per month, where I lose posts or days are skipped, etc. without any changes (and even when I can see the expected schedule). I have used Hootesuite in the past and I like it, but I prefer Buffer when it works. Is there something else that works as good as Buffer used to? Thank you.

Does Social Media hold value with SEO? If so then how?
Hey So I've been doing some research and it looks like theres a "human authority" and a "Page authority". I dont know if it is still relevant or if it has all changed because of Panda. Does social media still hold any SEO value? Do social media platforms like Pinterest and Youtube and twitter drive any valuable Anchor texts to your domain boostin your domain's authority or the page that it is linking to's authority?

I have 3 different niches - Should I create 3 different Social Profiles/hubs?
So I have 3 completely different niches. As in B2B vs. B2C, as well as markets that are not related whatsoever. Unless your grandmother that likes to sew, just so happens to also love to demolish giant buildings (lol, I never thought about how polar opposite my niches were until I re-read that sentence). Anyways, I guess the company should also have profiles/hubs, but what about for Outreach? I feel like outreach should be done by a personal profile, since outreach is all about networking and building relationships. Any direction/help/tips here? Thanks everyone, Tyler A.

Is it possible to get high page ranking with no social media activity?
I'm curious to know how much social media effects the chances of being more highly ranked on Google. I appreciate it's important to 'be seen' by Google, but if articles/newsletters are being written, does it really matter if a business isn't using Twitter or Facebook, etc?
