Joomla ( title page override not working properly ) any techy guys out there
-
Hey Mozzers
I am having some problems with joomla. I have tried many support forums and since everyone is in the same field as me, i thought this would be a great place to ask this question. I am working with joomla 2.5 and After i have turn on my search engine friendly configuration, you can override the ( alias ) of the page by providing page display options for title tag. so i turned on the SEF in global config and turn on the mod-rewrite and made sure my htaccess file was not txt.
But i am having some problems with this.
On some pages the page display option for the _browser page title _works and on some it does. On the pages it doesnt it is pulling the information of the Alias. ( which is common with most site )
Why is it doing thisYou can check out the pages yourself
Here is a page with it not working
http://tungstengem.com/mens-wedding-bandsand here is a page with it working
http://tungstengem.com/mens-wedding-...-bands-for-menAlso for my homepage when i didnt have my Apach rewrite it show the index.php and i was able to ad an alias to it. Now the Alias for the home page is not working

The extra categories, menus, etc do not cause any issues. They make it more difficult to work with the site and find the root issue.
Imagine you set up a stereo that uses 10 wires for power, sound, etc. If you can cleanly view the 10 wires, it is very easy to diagnose any issues that may arise. Now imagine the same scenario but there were 50 wires, 40 of them which don't actually do anything but are there nevertheless. You wind up wasting time checking each of those wires to eliminate the possibility they are causing problems.
With the above stated, your question boils down to you are not able to properly set the Title tags on your Joomshopping product pages. You should ask the Joomshopping publisher for assistance.

Hey Ryan , thanks for your input.
Ya i gave that information based on your stats on Seomoz being an oracle and all. and with all intent, the password is not an issue.
I know its a mess because i am working on it and i am not a professional and i will start deleting the filed i dont need.
But it is the overwhelming content thats causing the issue?
or is it joomshopping?
-
Your sending me the admin information for your site was unexpected. I went ahead and logged in to examine your setup. It's a mess.
For example, there are dozens of categories from the default Joomla software and other extensions such as Parks, Fruit Shop, etc. All these categories should be deleted or, at the very least, unpublished since they are not in use. You should set up categories for you content.
Your articles are set up in a manner that is not intuitive. For example, you have a Wedding Bands for Men page. I searched for an article called "Wedding Bands" but it does not exist. This led me to your Menus. Once again, there are many menus not in use which makes the site more difficult to administrator.
The Wedding Bands for Men page uses Products, not an article which is part of JoomShopping, a specific extension you chose to install.
To answer your specific question,
**On some pages the page display option for the _browser page title _works and on some it does. On the pages it doesnt it is pulling the information of the Alias. ( which is common with most site ) **
There are different types of content on your site. There are articles and then "products" which are part of JoomShopping. The JoomShopping content does not seem to be displaying in the manner you desire. I have no experience with this particular extension.
As a note, your site is not professionally developed. You will continue to encounter numerous other issues if you do not either invest a large amount of time understanding first Joomla, then each extension involved on your site, or hire a professional.
Please change your password.

Ryan thanks for an awesome advice and helping out here.
I emailed you the images since it was easier hope you dont mind.
Btw they are same type of pages Jmshopping category page . but still the Alias override should still work no?
Anyway I send the images to you . Config option, menu pages. ( which are Rings and Rings/Cobalt rings.
I also included the login info for the admin
-
Your second example, the Rings page, is part of your navigation. In Joomla you likely have it as a Menu Item and a Category. The first example is likely an Article. These are handled differently. If you can post screenshots of your admin panel settings, we could offer better advise.
Please also share exactly what is the desired outcome.

JSON-LD product page markup for multiple currencies?
I haven't found a working example of a single product page with one "Offer" in multiple "priceCurrency" and "price" We have product pages with a single product URL which will offer different prices in different currencies based on the user's IP. Some of the language of the page will be translated based on the IP (this will have href lang tag) but the URL will not change. (We're aware TLD is considered best practice, however, this is not an option at this time.) Is the best option to update the markup based on what the corresponding "country"? I'm uncertain how this may be handled by crawlers. Eg, For the product page https://www.example.com/product1 displaying USD "offers": {

Do we still have this Page Rank / Link juice / Link equity? So this dilution concept?
Hi all, As per the traditional or standard SEO rules, we have this link juice and dilution concept. Many websites have changed their linking structure with this with the beleif "the more number of pages, the PR will get diluted". Then many websites avoided more number of pages from homepage to avoid link juice dilution. Even we followed same. But I just wonder it's still the same way Google handles websites and rankings as per the links. And many websites even avoid more number of 2nd tier/hierarchy pages to avoid link dilution. I have gone through our competitors where they been employing lot of top level pages like 2nd tier/hierarchy pages but still doing good at rankings. Please share your views and suggestions on this. Thanks

Location of body text on page - at top or bottom - does it matter for SEO?
Hi - I'm just looking at the text on a redesigned homepage. They have moved all the text to the very bottom of the page (which is quite common with lots of designers, I notice - I usually battle to move the important text back up to the top). I have always ensured the important text comes at the top, to some extent - does it matter where on the page the text comes, for SEO? Are there any studies you can point me to? Thanks for your help, Luke

Pushstate and Infinite Scrolling Article Pages: Is it detrimental to not change URLs as the page is being scrolled?
I've noticed a recent trend of news sites using infinite scrolling on article pages to garner more pageviews and I can assume serve up more ads. Here is an overview. Here is an article from NBC news that uses this technique: http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/music/grammys-2016-here-s-why-adele-s-performance-was-out-n519186 Studies have shown that this technique has decreased bounce rates by +15% for some sites. My question is: If a site is using the technique without changing URLs as the user scrolls down what overall negative effects does this have? Obviously you wouldn't be getting credit for the extra pageviews but I was wondering if there were any indexation implications with this. Here is an example of article infinite scrolling without changing the URL: http://www.wftv.com/news/national-content/deputies-wife-attacks-husband-because-he-didnt-get-her-a-valentines-day-gift/87691927

On-page SEO opinion on this Wordpress theme
Hi everyone. As an SEO agency we've been moving more toward genesis themes, however we have a client who really wants to redesign his website using the following theme: http://themeforest.net/item/this-way-wp-full-videoimage-background-with-audio/943634 - the theme would be images with no audio on the homepage. He is a remodeling contractor and likes the design and functionality of the theme. I'd like to get others feedback and opinions on what you think about the on-page SEO of this theme? Thanks.

Why aren't Images in G+ product page posts showing up in SERPs for brand searches?
Before 1-2 weeks ago, our G+ posts containing links to our product pages would show up in in SERPs (when searching for our brand name) with a thumbnail of the product image. Now, they do not (see image below for visual). Our tech team confirmed there hasn't been any coding change that might be to blame and I see that this isn't happening to other sites. Any idea what may be the problem here? tcnhLgy

Does having a Blog link in the top level navigation provide any better SEO value, or would having it in a footer or top navigation work just as good?
Trying to decide on whether placing a link to the blog in our top level navigation would have a better SEO value than just placing it in top or footer navigation. I have an ecommerce site.
