Website Survived Last Year Penguin & Panda Updates but dropped Jan 2013?
-
Hi, I have a website which was gaining good rankings through 2012 and even looked in pretty good shape after all of the Penguin and Panda updates in 2012 but in Jan 2013 the sites rankings have been very poor as it dropped for all terms.
It is still in the index and webmaster tools shows the sites keywords but is showing places of 100 or so rather than 10 - 16 in the seeps.
The website is www.mywebsitehosting.org
Any ideas why this has dropped in January and what can I do to fix it?
Thanks.
P.s I have made a change to the homepage content but inner pages for the website also dropped to which have the same content as they did a few months ago.

Hi, can I ask what you used to look at the backlink profile so that I can check this too?
Thanks.

Hi Brian, thanks for your reply. These are the terms that it was hit for but in web master tools shows mywebsitehosting.org as the largest keyword usage.
I will take your advice though on the forum signatures as these are pretty low quality so is worth a try to try and save the site.
Thanks for your help.

I've been taking precautions for the Chrome 79 and 80 updates that will be more strict about serving mixed content. Quick question: will this impact http:// PDFs on https:// pages?

Is a Wordpress AMP plugin sufficient, or should we upgrade our WP theme to an AMP theme?
Hello there, our site is on a Flatsome Wordpress theme (which is responsive and does not support AMP), and we are currently using the AMP for Wordpress plugin on our blog and other content rich pages. My question is - is a plugin sufficient to make our pages AMP friendly? Or should we consider switching to a theme that is AMP enabled already? Thanks!

Restructuring Areas of a Website
Hi We are changing the structure of 2 areas of our site but the URL's won't be changing. We're effectively removing the first category level as it doesn't make much sense: Current structure Cat 1 - http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/cupboards-lockers Cat 2s - http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/lockers & http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/cupboards Cat 3s... New structure will look like Cat 1's http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/lockers & http://www.key.co.uk/en/key/cupboards Cat 2's.... etc The top category 1 doesn't rank for much & the level 2's perform better anyway. Will moving the structure change rankings even though the URLs don't change - just what is assigned to them in the back changes I know if the on-page content changes, things may be affected, but we're minimising this as much as possible. Thank you

How to stop some continuous attacks on our website
Hi Fellow SEO Experts
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | leadstar0007
We would like to ask for your help in STOPPING some continuous attacks on our website.
It seems that we are constantly needing to Disavow these URL’S like http://www.econsultmgmt.com.my and http://www.unicontmt.com.br as they keep redirecting to our Sitemap. Is there any tool or any clever way to stop these constant and unwanted links to our sitemap please?
We have tried on MULTIPLE occasions to contact them and ask them to remove the content that has the hyperlinks back to our sitemap but without success ☹
Any assistance from our global colleagues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & Regards, Manish0 -
Curious what risk we are for Panda 4.2 update
We are curious to know what the MOZ community thinks about our level of unique content on the following profile and if the community thinks we are currently at risk / susceptible for a Panda 4.2 Penalty. We have profiles on over 4,000 colleges (https://www.noodle.com/colleges/coUD/williams-college) some are more populated with content than others. We've already taken action to noindex several hundred thousand profile URLs (https://www.noodle.com/tutoring/tc2d9be/eye-level-center-of-tribeca) which currently publish less original content. Curious how other major vertical search websites approach this problem (a la Glassdoor, Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc) As always - the feedback from this community is priceless!!

Multilingual Version of a Website
Hi All, We created 'EN' and 'FR' version of a website and translated all labels and message from English to France with the help of Google Translator. Lets take an example: English version URL - https://www.sitegeek.com/softlayer France version URL - https://fr.sitegeek.com/softlayer France version also contain same reviews available on English version page. So the reviews content or language is same on both pages. To eliminate the duplicate content issue we put following meta tags on both 'EN" and 'FR' version pages : So My question is that (1.) Is this the correct implementation of Multilingual Version of a Website? (2.) Is Added meta tags work for both Google and Bing Search engine? (as Bing not indexing all pages) (3.) We are translated labels and messages from Google Translator. Is this the issue pages not being Indexed in Bing? (4.) Finally, What would the correct SEO approch if we translate our site in other languages? Rajiv

Interlinking multiple websites
Most websites (for example) Zalando intern link there other CC tld domains to the root. For example: On http://www.zalando.nl/damesschoenen-pumps/ the links in the footer go to the other CC tld's: http://www.zalando.es , zalando.co.uk etc. Does anyone have experience with the fact if you would interlink to the relevant page on the other CC tld;s.

For example: http://www.zalando.nl/damesschoenen-pumps/ links to http://www.zalando.co.uk/womens-shoes-heels/ in stead of linking to the homepage ?
In theory this would give more relevance intern linking. Looking forward to hear if anyone tried or experienced this and what the results where?0 -
