I know I should have all my affiliate links as nofollow but when should I dofollow a link? When will it HELP me to have a dofollow link?
Right now - all my links are nofollow because I haven't figured out how to have nofollow and dofollow in the same blog post.
Any info appreciated!

Hello,
Here is a plugin that can take care of the job for you:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nofollow/
Just install it, and set it up. You can use it when you add affiliate links, too... just check the nofollow box and voila, you're done.

Ok I see. So basically I should follow all my links except for affiliate links?
Is there a plugin that can help me do that? Because right now, the only thing I know how to do is follow or nofollow the entire page. I don't want to deal with code because it would take a long time for me to do. I am a deal blog and link have a lot of amazon affiliate links.
Edit: I am using Thesis.

Actually, dealaholic, the question is better answered if you ask it in reverse - when should links be nofollowed?.
All links on a website should be do-follow except in specific circumstances. Essentially, the only time you nofollow a link is if it is commercial in nature, or should be untrusted.
Typical example of commercial is the example you use of affiliate links. Another would be if the link was part of a paid advertisement, for example. (Google claims it can recognize aff links, but it's a safe bet to nofollow them anyway to be sure, and to account for the other SEs which may not handle them the same way.)
Untrustworthy links are things like links within user-generated content where the site author isn't actually responsible for creating, nor is vouching for the links, even though they appear on their site. (Links from within comments or profiles are a perfect example of this.)
Search engines expect that hyperlinks are to be followed - that's the premise the web was built on. A site that extensively uses nofollow on what should be natural links will appear to be trying to manipulate the natural flow of the web - something the search engines have been going to great lengths to discourage and even penalize.
In addition to looking unnatural if a site unnecessarily uses nofollow, it can make the site very hard for the SEs to crawl. One of the most common ways a SE discovers the pages on a site, especially the new ones, is by following the links from pages it knows about, to those it doesn't know about yet. If you nofollow the internal links in your navigation and post contents, you severely interfere with the SEs' ability to crawl and index your site. (There are a few examples where you can help the engines make better use of their crawling time by not following links that are truly pointless to the SE on your site - like a link to your account signup page, which the crawler couldn't submit to anyway.)
So, TL:DR leave everything as followed except if the links are paid/commercial. or or are to site's you don't personally vouch for.
Hope that makes sense?
Paul
P.S. Found this direct from Matt Cutts on using nofollow.

ECommerce Website Internal Links
We run an ecommerce website... approx 8K products. When using the page grader, MOZ tools consistently tell me that I have too many Internal Links on the page.
On-Page Optimization | | Ampweb
These are caused from our fairly large menu system, and probably from the sub-category links on the category landing pages as well. I was reading an article that mentioned a no-follow on these Internal links would not really solve the "Too many internal links issue", so wanted to check if anyone has ideas or should I just dis-regard this MOZ suggestion that there are too many in this type of environment?0 -
Removing navigation menu items/links on homepage
We are redesigning our website after a long stint with an SEO firm who also handled our design/dev. We want to clean up the links on our homepage but don't want to screw up our IA or SEO. We want to delete some navbar menu items and a whole bunch on random links to our evergreen content below the fold. Would we need to reposition those navbar items/content links to our footer or somewhere else on the homepage to maintain our internal linking structure? It would be great if you could take a look at our site and give us any suggestions or advice on the best way to go about this. Thanks!

Opinions please on Duplicate page titles & too many on-page links warnings.-
Hello folks, I'm a total SEO newbe but totally enjoying
On-Page Optimization | | CSC
using SEOmoz to learn more. We have ecommerce sites and the 1st crawl flags – as appears typical too many on-page links. We display up to 20 products (each with three links!)
and I’m trying to push to have fewer but meeting resistance from colleagues.
We have links duplicated all over the site believing it eases navigation. My question is just how critical is the number of products displayed
and the resulting volume of links to SEO results? Also we currently have collections of products displayed
across several pages which of course have the same page title and this is flagged
as a duplication error. I wonder if product auto-scrolling help as this means only a certain number of products are displayed at one time on one page thus reducing links and the need for duplicate page titles? My superiors are resisting change (perhaps nervous of spoiling
what already works) and I need to know where to direct my persuasive powers! Many thanks in anticipation, Spence0 -
Which pages should use rel="canonical" links?
I have many pages showing up as multiple content. Most of the them belong to product pages for my store, login pages that show up everywhere on the site, etc. I know that I need to use the rel=canonical link in the header but after searching the forum I'm still unsure of what pages need it. Is it the pages that I don't want searched/crawled by Google or the other way around? Thanks! Crystal

Is it ok to point internal links to index.html home page rather than full www
I thought I saw this somewhere on SEOmoz before but I was so busy by the time I got around to work on my SEO on my site, I realized I have this happening and can't recall if it is a problem which takes away from my ranking. If my www.website.com is ranking well but I have internal menu links pointing to www.website.com/index.html instead of www.website.com will that take away from my www.website.com rankings? Should I change all my menu links that point to /index.html to the full website url path www.website.com ?

Non-linked product short descriptions bad on ecommerce sites?
Hi, I have a question regarding SEO for ecommerce: Do you guys think it could be a bad thing to display non-linked short product descriptions of products on the home page and category pages? Can that cause cannibalism between different pages and non-optimal keyword targeting? I have a shop of which it's homepage tend to rank for some unintended phrases. Thank you, E

Too many on page links
I'm having trouble interpreting this data. It says several of my blog pages have too many on page links, some as high as 140 and there is no example of a blog post that they are referring to. What am I missing? I never post more than a handful (5-7) in our 600-1000wd blogs. When I drill down, it doesn't give me very much information except "Found over 41 years ago" off to the right. When I click on the "too many on page links" URL, it provides a long list of website pages that are renamed with the blog name. huh? A lot of this stuff isn't very intuitive, SEOMoz.
