Capitalization matters? Are Keywords treated as Case Sensitive?
-
I have searched the forum for this questions and basically found the following answer: “Neither Google nor SEOmoz treat keywords as case sensitive. For example, “Jobfair” and “jobfair” should return the same results.”

http://www.seomoz.org/q/are-keywords-case-sensitive
How then can it be that I get the following results in the Rankings Report? (see example pic)
And more importantly, which one is correct?

Thank you very much, both of you, for the very helpful answers!

Hey There,
Thanks for writing in with a great question! Capitalization definitely shouldn't matter to our crawler or to Google, so I looked into this keyword with one of our devs and it looks like the rankings for "jobmesse" was collected about 16 hours before the rankings for "Jobmesse" so we believe this is actually a natural fluctuation in the SERP for this keyword. I manually check the current rankings for both version of the keyword, I am seeing that your site currently ranks at #11 and the keyword has a difficulty score of 56%, so it is definitely within reason to see fluctuate in a matter of hours between the rankings.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

In some cases, the capitalized version and lower case version of a search won't return the EXACT same results in the SERPs (sometimes a result will shuffle a bit [though not by much from what I've seen]) but Google does understand that "Example" and "example" are the same word much in the same way that it knows a singular and plural of the same word are related, i.e. "Shoes" will show up for a search of "Shoe" and vice versa.
If you also take into account the regular shuffling of the SERPs every time Google so much as blinks, there is the possibility that when the rankings data was pulled for your terms they were done so in a fashion that shows two different numbers that were both correct at the times they were pulled. Plus, in the past week (week and a half?) there was a decent bit of volatility in the SERPs that lead people to believe there was an algorithm change happening so for all you know that may have put an odd hiccup in the numbers as well.
Worse comes to worst you could always do a bit of testing to see if maybe you stumbled on a previously unknown traffic/rankings difference. Shouldn't be but with 500+ algorithm changes a year, you never know.

Does Keyword Tracker rank eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are?
This might be a confusing question but hopefully I can explain it well enough and someone is able to understand where I am coming from. I have used the Keyword Analysis Tool to search the keyword "alice in wonderland fancy dress", the results come back saying that the competition for this keyword is 24%, which I consider to be pretty low. When I look at the Page Authority, Page Linking, Domain Authority and Domain Linking of each site which rank in the top 10 for this keyword I see that places 4 - 7 are taken by eBay links. I then look at the bottom three places (8 - 10) and although their Page Authority and Page Linking is not very high, their Domain Authority and Domain Linking is reasonable. Based on the results I have seen for other keyword, who's overall competition % was higher than 24%, I thought to myself that these bottom three links were actually quite strong, which made me ask the question "why has this keyword got a competition % as low as 24%?". I then wonder whether it was because the Keyword Analysis Tool ranks the eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are? My question to you guys: Does Keyword Tracker rank eBay links as weaker competition than they actually are? Or can anyone explain why the competition % for this keyword is so low but the bottom three links are actually relatively strong? And how do the eBay links rank higher than these bottom three links? Yes the eBay links are relative to the keyword but these eBay links are ranking higher solely on the fact that the Domain Authority is so high and have very little SEO in relation to the keyword, does Google not recognise that the bottom three websites would be more beneficial to customers than the eBay links? And if the eBay links are ranking so high solely on the fact that the Domain Authority is so high then shouldn't they be in the top 10 for almost every product related keyword? Thanks in advance.

Can you create in the Keyword Difficulty Tool several separate reports?
If I go now to the Keyword Difficulty Tool and submit keywords, I get one list with all keywords (let's say 300), but I have actually say 30 keywords per segment/niche I wan't to view. Is is possible to have 10 separate reports?

Tracking Local Keywords in Campaigns.
When selecting keywords to track in campaign mode, how should I enter the keywords for a company located in a city that shares the same name as another city in a different state? My assumption is that if you're searching for "Garden City Plumber" within Garden City Michigan that Google will know your IP and show local results (as opposed to results from Garden City California). If I want to track the key phrase "Garden City Plumber" in campaign mode how will SEOMoz know which city to deliver results for? Thanks in advance.

Regarding Avoiding Keyword Self-Cannibalization
I ran some of my pages through the 'on-page report card' and one thing that kept popping up was to Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization. I thought the best SEO practice was to have anchor text at the end of your article that matched your target keywords. Is this not accurate? Please let me know the best practice so I can make sure my pages are all optimized correctly. Thanks. Here is an example: http://www.youdrivethesuccess.com/culture/real-estate-commission-split/
