Duplicate Title tags vs. View All for search results
-
I run a directory and some search queries give almost 1000 unique results.
My moz campaign tells me that I have around 1,300 duplicate title tags etc.
I read online about canonical, rel=next/prev, also about having a 'view all' page just for google (page links, not search queries), but if I do this, wouldn't the slowness mean google won't index it?
So the question is what is the best thing to do?

Hello Tguide,
To get around the long load time you could use a view all page as the canonical page and rely on a script to load more content as the user scrolls down. Sites like Twitter and Pinterest do this almost infinitely. Look up infinite scrolling and lazy loading as good places to start. However, this may be difficult to implement for some sites.
If you are worried about load time for a view all page you can use rel next and rel prev tags on your paginated pages. This should work just fine in most cases.
Moz will continue to tell you about the duplicate titles and descriptions, but you can ignore that warning if you have set up rel next prev or view all canonical correctly.

Google displaying "Items 1-9" before the description in the Search Results
We see our pages coming up in Google with the category page/product numbers in front of our descriptions. For example: Items 1 - 24 of 86 (and than the descriptions follows). Our website is magento based. Is there a fix for this that anyone knows of? Is there method of stopping Google from adding this on to the front of our Meta Description?

Duplicate Page Title Error passing a php variable
Hi i've searched about this and read about this and i can't get my head around it and could really do with some help. I have a lot of contact buttons which all lead to the same enquiry form and dependant on where it has come from it fills in the enquiry field on the contact form. For example if you are on the airport transfer page it will carry the value so its prefilled in (.php?prt=Airport Transfers). The problem is it's coming up as a duplicate page however its just the 1. I have this problem with quite a few sites and really need to combat this issue. Any help would be very much appreciated. airport-transfers.php

My number of duplicate page title and temporary redirect warnings increased after I enabled Canonical urls. Why? Is this normal?
After receiving my first SEO moz report, I had some duplicate page titles and temporary redirects. I was told enabling Canonical urls would take of this. I enabled the Canonical URLs, but the next report showed that both of those problems had increased three fold after enabled the canonical urls! What happened?

Title tag code
Hi, I have a couple of websites where I can't define the title tag (CMS does not support it) on a few default pages. On these pages "the system" just uses the primary/main title tag (from the frontpage) and my programming skills (as if I have any...!) have not been able to make a html code or something to override the main title tag on these specific pages. Does this make sense at all and can anyone give me a hint, a code to try out or something? Problem is that I now have 3 pages with the same title tag which in terms of SEO isn't too good, so to say... Thanks in advance. Jan

Catch 22 on duplicate page titles
Hi all, I'm quite new to the SEO space so I apologise if all the information below isn't technically perfect. I ran the SEOmoz pro tool for the first time a month ago (fantastic tool). It picked up a wealth of errors on our site that we are now working on. the problem: we use dynamic pages to display job listings pulled from our database that have picked up many duplicate page titles and content. For example: _Landing page: _http://www.arm.co.uk/jobs/it-contract-jobs/sec=itcontractjobs _Page 2: _http://www.arm.co.uk/jobs/1/-/-/2/itcontractjobs-/9999/2 _Page 3: _http://www.arm.co.uk/jobs/1/-/-/2/itcontractjobs-/9999/3 Following the results of the Moz tool we have now 'no indexed' and 'no followed' the dynamic pages and the errors have dramatically dropped, great! However, on reflection we generate quite a lot of traffic to individual job's listed on our website. By no following the pages we have restricted passing on any 'juice' to these pages, and by no indexing we may be taking them out of Googles index completely. These dynamic pages and individual job listings do generate a lot of traffic to our website via organic search. We do submit the site index to Google that should index the individual jobs that way. So, the question is (I hope this is making sense), are the gains of reducing errors picked up in the moz tool (to improve the overall site performance) likely to outweigh the traffic generated on these dynamically generated pages by being indexed and followed by Google. Ultimately we would like the static landing pages to retain a stronger page rank. Any guidance is very much appreciated. Best Regards,

Www or no www in search results??
I am working with a client, and when I check on SERP placement, I never see the "www" in the SERP's only nameofcustomer.com not www.nameofcustomer.com. Of course there is a redirect going on...Question is...should this matter at all? I dont understand the relationship between this kind of redirect and SEO. Thank Mozzers
