Social Media Marketing Synergy
-
Hi all,
Just a quick question.
When creating social media profiles, should there be synergy between them in imagery. For example a fashion brand that has a lot of different styles. Would you have 2 completely different looks on say Twitter and Facebook? Or would you try to find a theme and stick with it?
I have looked at other fashion brands and there is a mixed bag. Some have synergy, some don't. Is this a matter of opinion or is their a best practice? I don't think there is a right answer but I'd love some opinions / articles on it if poss!
Thanks

Synergy between your social media profiles is certainly important, as it makes your brand memorable. A consistent imagery throughout your profiles make it easier for visitors to familiarise with you. Familitarity encourages liking - customers who had a positive experience with you will be more likely to return; followers will recall your brand when they wish to buy a product that you offer in the future.
That being said, you don't have to use the same imagery across all your social media profiles, but colour consistency is a must. If you check out some of the top brands, you would realise they maintain the same colour profile throughout their social media accounts. Repeat your logo as much as possible too - your logo plays a significant role in branding and should be exposed in as many avenues as possible.
For fashion brands, it can be seen from Cath Kidston, Forever 21, H&M, that they are using their logo across all their profile pictures, and the same (if not similar) cover photos throughout. Even if they do use different imagery, they still maintain a constant colour feel throughout that represents the style of their clothing line.
Hope that helps!

A website for China - SEO & Marketing
I want to launch a website in China and have read that the best way forward for Baidu SEO is to host the site in China itself - does anyone have experience with doing that? It seems there are a few hoops to jump through, but I imagine I'm not the first to try?

Ideas for highly specific digital marketing?
I have a client that wants to get highly specific with their digital marketing (SEO, Paid, and Social). In their business each sale is big enough that we've even been talked about creating specific targeting campaigns around one decision maker within a company. I can't share too much more information, so I'm hoping that makes sense. My question is this: What are some ideas for getting hyper focused with digital marketing? Most of my ideas for this utilize paid advertising but we've come up with a few social and organic ideas as well. I just wanted to open a discussion to see what my Moz friends thought on the topic. Thanks in advance.

Is it "correct" to welcome to my social community an authority figure?
Hi, I just "earned" an authority figure as a follower on my company's twitter account (not a big account - 600 followers). The authority figure is the founder of a very relevant and big niche news site. Should I welcome her to my community? Is it correct putting her on the spot?

How to leverage celebrity interactions for online marketing?
Recently one of my clients has become involved with a group of A-List celebrities, and we expect to have some very good photos and meetings happening. I know this might be more of traditional PR concern, but I am wondering (aside from the obvious "post it to FB/Twitter/Tumbler") how to best leverage this for online marketing. If we have photos or videos, we can make writeups, etc. Can someone give me some suggestions?

How to remove negative media that is effecting the barnd
We have a client that is a reorganised business and brand. But a newspaper has posted some negative video and that is coming up on 2nd position when you type in the client name in google. The client also paid a company to try and reduce its positioning but no joy yet on that front. The client is now thinking of rebranding his complete business he also have first page positions on his major keywords but the issue is that when a customer or potential customer reads that story etc it harms them and it will only get worse. The worst example being one of our salespeople sold 10 Items to a customer for £*k and before he got home the customer cancelled saying he had read the story on the internet!! Also our competitors use it in the home to rubbish them all the time. The market this year has been very tough for us and its half what it was last year What would be your advice please ? Should we go for a brand new site with no association with the current brand name? Or how can we remove that one site negative video, we have contacted the editor who has refused to take off the news by the way that news was posted last year.

Reposting media releases
Hey Mozers - We recently distributed a media release and it has been picked up by 20+ news outlets and counting. My question: Should I publish this media release on my news/blog page? Or is it better to just bask in the incoming links? What are the benefits and drawback to each? Thanks in advance!

How to get Social Mention from an Expert in A field you know nothing about?
I have read many posts on this. However, the one thing I find challenging is getting an expert to give me a social mention. In many cases they have shared something similar in the past, and in many cases they are too busy. IMO building relationships via forums is the easiest way to find experts who will mention my site. I can engage them in a thread, and eventually take it to a Personal Messages. After building a relationship I can ask for a link or a social mention or to guest post or something. I have attempted contacting many experts via Blogs, E-mail, Facebook, Google + etc. for many different sites, IMExperince most “Experts” (people with large followings) will not give a noob (new site w/no rankings or new user w/no following) the time of day, nor a social mention. I have read many posts on engaging experts: tag them; send them flowers; like every post; make great comments. My result… bruised lips (from kissing behinds). I work with an SEO company, and every new site we work on seems to require a unique strategy for ranking. When we work on building relationships in fields we know nothing about, the outcome is weak. Unless we use forums. What are some strategies that work for you? what approach do you take when you have to build a relationship with someone you cant give value to?
