whoohoo, i like how easy it finally gets to use advanced segments in GA... just follow the link!
however, it's incredible how useless this sometimes gets if all Google provides is: (not provided)
thanks for sharing the segment though Dan!

Hey There
First question, which I have to get out of the way - are these coming from Bing/Yahoo etc? Use this advanced segment to show Google search traffic only just to double check.
Phillip could be right on the money, I've seen lots of traffic from image search. I'd check to see if you're ranking there. And Brian has a good point too about it possibly being local, or some other form of personalization.
The best thing you can do is use segments and filters to isolate any other factors - ie: mobile vs desktop, location, etc. I very rarely see an actual error in GA so I would keep digging!

Sometimes these might come from local google queries - so maybe you're in the wrong geolocation and google does not display the page in your area.
Also, have you checked image searches? Maybe you rank there!

I've seen the same issues in my various ga accounts numerous times...I'm curious to what could be the cause of this. I have a client that gets thousands of impressions for 'logos' but she's not in the top 50 serps for it.

How do I track a primary domain and a subdomain as single site in Google Analytics?
Our website consists of a primary domain (marketing focused) and subdomain (ecommerce platform). The two sites look and function as one site even though they are using different technology. I would like to track the primary domain (example.com) and the subdomain (shop.example.com) as a single site in Google Analytics. The subdomain will be set up with GA ecommerce tracking as well. Can someone provide an example of the GA snippet that each would need?

Google SERP showing a URL with UTM_source attached - why? Can I stop it?
I just found a Google search results page showing a URL with a UTM source tag attached. Any idea how or why this has happened? How can I stop it as I'm guessing this is overwriting my organic visits with referrals from this site. See attached photo for pic of SERP page. The link is going here: http://employment.govt.nz/er/holidaysandleave/parentalleave/?utm_source=newzealandnow.govt.nz 5vxTDTi.png

Adwords Clicks correlating to Analytics Paid Visits
Would appreciate if anyone could clarify for me the correlation between 'clicks' in Google Adwords and visits for paid search in Google Analytics. Currently i see several thousand clicks a day in Adwords, yet our analytics account will only report a few hundred visits so i do not know which data set to use as the most reliable source for analysis. e.g 16th May. Analytics > TrafficSources > Sources > Search > Paid = 208 visits Adwords > All Campaigns, Total Clicks = 1153 i have found a few other questions asking the same thing here and here but dont feel they answer my question. We know our Adwords account is linked to our Analytics account as we got in touch with our PPC account manager originally about this and on reiew they found an error in our setup. Since then we know this is working as search terms and source are showing up and we have auto tagging enabled. Thanks, Tom.
