Finding authoritative sources on Google+ - is there a tool?
-
I'm looking for a way to find authoritative sources on Google+ on certain subjects.
I define an authoritative source as someone who is in a lot of people's circles, and the content they curate gets shared, +1, and commented a lot.
The subjects are variable, but for an example:
What's the best way to find authoritative sources on Google+ on the subject of auto technology.
Does anyone know of a tool that can do this?
If you can't recommend a tool, how would you approach this? -
Hey Chris,
Thanks for the tool list!
I think I'll find a purpose for each of these tools in the research I'm performing; however I think I'll have to develop a custom solution for a starting point.
Unless there is another way out there?

Steve, here are a few to check out:
- CircleCount www.circlecount.com/ track your followers and analyze your shares. See how many followers you've gained over time.
- FindPeopleonPlus www.findpeopleonplus.com/ research, outreach, and link building. Sort by keywords, profession, country, and more.
- ** SharedCount** API www.sharedcount.com/documentation.php combined statistics of Google+, Twitter, Facebook, and more, the SharedCount API puts a ton of social data at your fingertips.
- Google+ Ripples To view Ripples for a public post in your stream, just click the dropdown arrow at the top of the post you’re curious about and click View Ripples. Google+ Ripples creates an interactive graphic of the public shares of any public post or URL on Google+ to show you how it has rippled through the network and help you discover new and interesting people to follow.
- All my + http://www.allmyplus.com/ is a useful tool for evaluating the activity and engagement of specific profiles

Do we expect Google+ to continue being an important ranking signal after its recent changes?
I've noticed that Google Plus seems to have a larger influence on ranking than other social networks, especially for one of our competitors. We haven't started using Google Plus, and I'm wondering if, from an SEO standpoint, it's worth putting energy into after last month's changes. TL;DR: After last month's changes, is Google Plus still an important ranking signal?

Is it possible to modify the default social sources in Google Analytics?
In the newest Google Analytics there's a section called 'Social' which tracks traffic from FB, Twitter and other social sites. For some reason it doesn't include Instagram (which is the one that matters to me, though I'm sure there are many others that it doesn't include either.) Is there a way to modify that and add Instagram as a social source?

Google+ currently DOES support hidden addresses?
We noticed yesterday that many of our clients with hidden addresses are now able to get a verified G+ page through the Places dashboard. Anyone else have any insight on this? Are they classified as "Local" pages, or just verified "Business" pages?

Is it okay to have different gmail ids for Google plus and Google webmaster tools?
It was good until I have had this new website where Google plus has got an active account but under different id and the site has got its analytics and webmaster tools account set under another id. If I simply verify the site, will it be able to track authorship and social signals? Your opinions, help and guidance will be appreciated

Google Plus Page vs. Local
We have a google plus page here, set up as a business: https://plus.google.com/b/118361610870255631824/118361610870255631824/posts Then we also have a migrated local page: https://plus.google.com/111600136449742974371/about?gl=uk&hl=en What I would like to see ideally, is to keep the local marker so when people search through Google Maps our name still appears, but on a branded search for 'world of books' I want to see our Google+ page down the right hand side, rather than the local page currently, search for 'world of books' I want it to look the same as if I search for 'music magpie' Help!

Finding influencers
I am interested in finding people or websites that are influential in a particular industry. For example, in the finance world, who has "weight" when it comes to the keyword gold, or mining stocks. Not just for website hits but for social media influence too. Is there a tool to do that?
