Video in iFrame
-
I'm thinking to add free Lynda.com's video to my blog posts. The idea is to boost my textual content with some video. It's totally a good idea for the user. I get that part . Problem is, the videos are embedded with the help of iframes, for example:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.lynda.com/player/embed/137348?fs=2&tr=utm_medium=ldc-partner;utm_source=SSPRC;utm_content=11889;utm_campaign=CD14853;aid=CD14853;bid=11889;subID5=137348" frameborder="0"></iframe>
The question is if it makes any sense for SEO?
-
I think that's a good summation Mat.
It's not going to add any "SEO" value at all, but it might be useful for users. If so, great; If not, don't do it.

You can't really expect to get any SEO benefit from embedding someone else's video. What does that bring to the table that is original and unique?
There is nothing with embedding someone else's video in your site (with permission, of course). However by itself it won't add anything.
If that video was embedded as part of making the most useful page around on the topic, which happened to include embedded versions of a curated list of the best videos on the topic, then yes. Likewise if adding the video is the "cherry on the cake" of an already good page, then brilliant. In those cases the method you use to embed will make no difference.

Instructional Videos on Separate Websites
Am I doing this correctly? We have 3 websites and shoot a lot of instructional videos on how to use our products. I build a webpage for the video and put it on all three websites, using rel="canonical" on 2 of the videos pages, pointing to the single most important page, is this the right method? TY

Separate URL vs iFrame
Hi Everyone, I'm not a designer/developer and am an not extremely knowledgeable in SEO, but I'll try to be as clear as I can. One of the designers here is creating a recipe section on our website. He created it so that it's a container (or iFrame?) on the page. Basically, no matter what you click (different sections and recipes) the URL stays the same. I was told to find out from an SEO perspective if it's better to do things this way or have a separate URL for each section and recipe. It's been brought up that from a social/sharing standpoint separate URLs would be better so people can send a link directly to the specific recipe they want to share. Any thoughts/comments are appreciated! Thanks for the help!

Best place for tutorial videos on e-commerce site
Just wondering where I should put my tutorial videos on my e-commerce site. I have two options 1. On the category pages - this makes sense as the videos are related to the products within the category 2. Create a help section of the website that would host all the help videos. Which would be better for ranking and usability? Thanks

Collaps-O-Matic for product video transcripts - bad for SEO?
I'm using Wordpress plugin Collapse-O-Matic as a collapse/reveal function for my product video transcripts. Is this ok from an SEO standpoint? Will Google and other search engines see it as hidden content? Are there better options?

Video Explainer on host YouTube or My Online Store server
Hi, I want to add a explainer video on my header. This video introduce our online store, products and services. Should it be host on YouTube or on my online store server. I use BigCommerce shopping cart and I don't have to pay for bandwitch. In a SEO point of view, what is the best option? Thank you, BigBlaze

Do videos count as duplicate content?
If we allow users to embed our videos on their site, would that count as duplicate content? I imagine note, given that Google can't usually 'see' the content of videos, but just want to double check.
