Question on redirect and internal link count
-
After crawl I saw that dup content came from domain.com/index.php and domain.com. I was going to redirect one of them but im curious which way to go. The /index.php has domain auth of 19, the other 17, so not big difference. Domain.com has 2 external linking domains and index.php has 1. The big difference is in the internal link counts where index.php has 76 and the other only 4. So should I direct index.php to / or the other way around?

Thanks. I agree especially since there didnt seem to be much at stake..lol. I guess I just was unclear on the value of the internal links count in moz, I just started using the system...

Personally I would redirect (and canonical!) to "/" simply because that's what most people expect from a website homepage. At the moment the value of all your internal and external links are being split between the two URL's, as soon as you redirect to one or the other that page should then get all the credit.

My Question How to check why our DA is gradually dropping
Hi everyone, Moz Community, I asking a question here so kind of excited to be part of the community. I hired an SEO firm about three months ago. They have arranged high ranking DA guest posts for my website Bagcottage as well as many other small low DA links. None of these links have any kind of a spam score. However, for the past two months, they have been helping, our website's DA has actually dropped by one point each month. Is this cause for concern? Any thoughts on how I can trace the drop? On a side-note, out of the 700+ keywords that didn't were ranking in the top 50, about 200 of them now are gone compared to last month. I don't know if this is related or not, but something looks awry. By Fazle Wadood Safi [email protected] https://bagcottage.com

Reclaim lost links to old pages?
We recently moved our site to a new CMS and did a complete redesign, with new content. It's really hit our SEO. Open site explorer is telling me there are lots of 404 web pages which were basically old product pages that no longer exist, since the way we have structured the site has changed. So is it worth trying to reclaim these links? If so, how can I do that without building pages at the URL - will a 301 redirect be enough?

Campaign link not working?
I imagine most of the initial problems with the domain migration to moz.com will be cleaned up rather quickly. I did however notice right away my links to my campaigns from the dashboard were not working. I then click the campaigns tab up top and my campaign links worked from there. Just thought I'd share real quick incase anyone else is having the same issue.

I have a client with a bit over 100 inbound links but Open Site Explorer shows total links on Subdomain as over 66,000, how can this be?
I have a client www.woodard247.com that shows only a bit over 100 inbound links. using the Open Site Explorer, they are a well trafficed local site and are not doing any grey hat or black hat techniques. However the rankings for their main keywords have suffered recently and we cannot identify any duplicate content or keyword stuffing issues. We have never purchased links or used link building software. Now for the main question: When we run Open Site Explorer it shows only a bit over 100 inbound links on the page and the domain, but the subdomain shows over 66,000 total links! How can this be possible? Could this be a problem? How can I find out what these links are since Open Site Explorer and Seo Spyglass both show only a hundred or so?

What analysis exists for Out Bound Links (OBL) from your site
Hi Maybe I am missing this but I can''t seem to see it. I am doing some analysis on a client's site and want to get a csv list of links from the client's site to external sites. So what I am looking for is a list of Out Bound Links (OBL) from the client's site. I want to run these past a black list / bad link neighborhood checking script I have. This would actually be a nice feature in SEO Moz Pro, unless it actually already does and I am just missing it or not setting filters correctly. Thanks Trevor

Unanswered Questions
Hey SEOMoz I have been spending a bit of time in the Q&A of late and have noticed lots of questions never get answered. I also had a question of my own that I left open for ages and I figured it maybe a good idea to add some kind of email nag or on screen notification for people to close old questions. There are some that have had plenty of answers but that either never get closed & really, it takes away from the fun of participating if things are never closed off & searching shows the same old tired, answerd but not closed questions lingering around like a bad smell. 🙂 Not really a question, but a little tweak suggestion. 🙂 Cheers
