Presenting Link Building Information to Clients
-
Hi,
I am hoping for some help concerning (from other SEO's Agencies, Consultants, etc.) what would you have found to be the best tool to present to your clients that you are doing the work the client paid for?
I have a number of clients to perform various SEO services for them and so I have chosen MOZ.com as my TPA to show a good visual presentation of what I have done and how the site is trending, since coming on board.
I have been using SEOMoz.com or MOZ.com for a while now and I have always found it a fantastic product. However, I did wish that I could generate reports for each client and it would be automatically emailed to the contact person I have been working with.
But, my big dilemma is what TPA should I use in conjunction with MOZ.com - RavenTools.com or BuzzStream.com - when it pertains to Link Building Management.
Once again, I have used both, but I have found RavenTools.com a tool with a lot more features and I can present information about what links I have generated to each client. Buzzstream.com is not as useful when it comes to this.
So, I have been presenting the clients that I have with information for MOZ.com (KPI's - Organic Search, Traffic and New Visitors etc as a measurement of my Link Building efforts) but they want to have more detailed information about each link that I have gotten for them.
Does anyone have a suggestion to best approach this problem? I hope I expressed my problem clearly enough for good feedback.
Thanks,
Brook Shipley

Hi Brook,
Thanks for the question.
As you've mentioned, there are various tools out there which can complement Moz Analytics, however the answer to your question (for me at least) is not so much about the platform you use and more about what information and message you're trying to deliver to the client.
The key part of your question is this bit:
"but they want to have more detailed information about each link that I have gotten for them."
It really depends what you mean by more detailed information. Do they want DA? PA? PageRank? Anchor text? Number of links on a page? Ultimately, the point is why do they want this information? All of this information can be useful but in all honesty, I'd be trying to steer clients away from focusing on granular details such as these and steer them more towards meaningful metrics, the main one probably being the amount of traffic that a particular link is sending and the engagement from that traffic.
In terms of presenting this, you can use something simple such as Google Analytics to gather the traffic data, Excel to export it into and put it into a table or chart etc. If you do want specific link metrics, I'm pretty sure that BuzzStream and Raven will gather these for you, from here you could export them into Excel.
I'd recommend these two links to give a bit more info about link building reporting:

I hope that helps!

Can building quality links on internal pages help us to improve DA?
Dear expert,
Moz Bar | | jhfdbeaob
I hope that you all are fine 🙂
Today, I am very confused about improving DA of my client website. For example: He has a domain www.abc.com
and he wants me to build a backlinks on different internal pages like
www.abc.com/service-1
www.abc.com/service-2
www.abc.com/service-3 If i build high quality links on internal pages (service pages) rather than building links on main domain (home page). Does the Domain Authority will increase
OR
I have to build links on Main page to boost the DA I am hoping a positive reply from your side Thanks1 -
Top pages according Link Explorer shows 301 pages and images
I was looking at the top pages on my website using Link Explorer, it contains 301 pages and image URLs. Is this expected or I should be doing something to fix it? URL with second highest PA in site is a page already 301 redirected more than 6 months back. URL with highest PA in my blog is a random image in the blog, rather than any blog posts. Is this normal? Thanks -Aji

Too Many On-Page Links Notice
When calculating the number of links on a page, are navigation links included in the total? I have all of my navigation links within the
element. I would think that there are a lot of sites out there that easily exceed the 100 link recommendation if you add up nav and footer links.

Www.site.com linking to pages www10.site.com
The root domain of the website in question is www.site.com but all subpages are on the subdomain www10.site.com (I'm pretty sure it's a subdomain, at least, used for load balancing?). A funny thing happens on this site with the moz toolbar. I visit a subpage, www10.site.com/articles/articletopic1 That page has a lot of links on it, all of them visibly going to the subdomain www10.site.com. However, the moz toolbar shows some of them as Internal links and most of them as External links. As far as I can tell, there is no real rhyme or reason to the difference between the links that are highlighted as Internal vs. External. The link structures vary greatly: Some are properly structured www10.site.com/blogs/category
Moz Bar | | Motava
And some are poor like www10.site.com/articles/show_articles.php?section=category1 So a couple questions here: Does this subdomain www10 have a detriment on the rankings of subpages?
What could possibly cause the internal links on these subpages to be highlighted as external pages with the moz toolbar?1 -
Internal Links Count in Crawl Report
My understanding of the 'Internal Links' results in a moz crawl report is that it represents the number of links on the given page that link to other pages on the same site.Assuming this is a correct assumption: We recently ran a crawl report on www.phase1tech.com. Some of the pages are coming back with a large amount of 'internal links'. These 2 pages for example are showing 800 internal links: http://www.phase1tech.com/Upcoming-Events
Moz Bar | | AISEO
http://www.phase1tech.com/Contact Then there are a number of pages coming back with 705 Internal Links, including: http://www.phase1tech.com/Dalsa-CameraLink-Cameras
http://www.phase1tech.com/Hitachi-CameraLink-Cameras At best there are approximately 70-80 links on these pages. Where are these large counts coming from? Is there a means to see what the links being reported on are? At the same time the 'Too Many On-Page Links' indicates 'No' for some pages with a high number of links, and 'Yes' for pages with a low number of links. For example: http://www.phase1tech.com/Baumer-SX-Series
Too Many On-Page Links: Yes
Internal Links: 2
What's up with that?0 -
Anyone having problems with the Competitive Link Finder?
Half the reason I signed up for moz is because of the Competitive Link Finder. Every time I enter in the info and hit the go button in a split second I get this message "No common links found between sites, try adding more competitors" I've entered in several different searches for different industries and get the same message. I've tried it on several browsers and on a mac and pc. If anyone has an idea about what might be causing this please let me know.
