Google displaying the homepage instead of the landing page
-
I have a landing page that was ranking before for web design philippines its http://www.myoptimind.com/web-design-philippines
Early this year, we dropped our rank and google displayed our homepage http://www.myoptimind.com
When i search for "web design company philippines", i rank. however, for "web design philippines" I am on page 2.
When I try "web design philippines" site:myoptimind.com it shows the landing page as the 2nd result. Last week, we tried to change the content of the page to reflect content that is more related to the keyword and moved the old content to http://www.myoptimind.com/web-design-services-philippines. We also changed the title of the homepage from Web Design Philippines | SEO Company Philippines to Web Design & SEO Company Philippines
Still nothing has changed. I just wanted it to show the landing page instead of the root domain. Any idea how this can be solved?

Yes your landing page most likely does not have as many backlinks as your homepage.
I think you would have to get some powerful back links going to your landing page ideally you would use interlinking from your more powerful pages to your relevant pages that lack links.
If you are fooling around with the content of your website trying to get one page to rank over another
https://marketing.grader.com/report/www.myoptimind.com/overall
Dynamic URLs were found on the page.
There is a problem with your site is not a responsive website at all it will not fare well on mobile devices.
The size of the landing page is over 3 MB making it unfortunately very slow as well.
I do not know the speed of your site in the Philippines however you can use a program like this webspeedtest.org
Host your site from a server that is close to your target market. If your server is far away for good reason use a CDN and optimize it.
Here is a hosting company in or near the Philippines
your site loads in 9 seconds out of Argentina and the second pass when it should be compressed and cash it runs 8 seconds

What to do if lots of backend pages have been indexed by Google erroneously?
Hi Guys Our developer forgot to add a no index no follow tag on the pages he created in the back-end. So we have now ended up with lots of back end pages being indexed in google. So my question is, since many of those are now indexed in Google, so is it enough to just place a no index no follow on those or should we do a 301 redirect on all those to the most appropriate page? If a no index no follow is enough, that would create lots of 404 errors so could those affect the site negatively? Cheers Martin

Why is Google Ranking the Umbrella Category Page when Searching for Sub-Categories Within that Umbrella Category?
I have an e-commerce client who sells shoes. There is a main page for "Kids" shoes, and then right under it on the top-navigation bar there is a link to "Boys Shoes" and "Girls Shoes." All 3 of these links are on the same level - 1 click off the home page. (And linked to from every page on the website via the top nav bar). All 3 are perfectly optimized for their targeted term. However, when you search for "boys shoes" or "girls shoes" + the brand, the "Kids" page is the one that shows up in the #1 position. There are sitelinks beneath the listing pointing to "Girls" and "Boys." All the other results in Google are resellers of the "brand + girls" or "brand + boys" shoes. So our listing is the only one that's "brand + kids shoes." Our "boys" shoes page and "girls" shoes page don't even rank on the 1st page for "brand + boys shoes" or "brand + girls shoes." The only real difference is that "kids shoes" contains both girls and boys shoes on the page, and then "boys" obviously contains boys' shoes only, "girls" contains girls' shoes only. So in that sense there is more content on the "kids" page. So my question is - WHY is the kids page outranking the boys/girls page? How can we make the boys/girls pages be the ones that show up when people specifically search for boys/girls shoes?

Ecommerce Site homepage , Is it okay to have Links as H2 Tags as that is relevant to the page ?
Hi All, I have a Rental site and I am bit confused with how best do my H Tags on my homepage I know the H1 is the most important, Then H2 Tags and so on.. and that these tags should really be titles for content. However, I have a few categories (links) on my homepage so I am wondering if I could put these as H2 Tags given that it is relevant to the page . H3 Tags will my News and Guides etc , H4 Tags will the whats on the footer. I am attached a made up screenshot of what I propose for my homepage if someone could please give it a quick look , it would be very much appreciated. I have looked at what some competitors do a lot of them don't seem to have h2's etc but I know it's an important factor for rankings etc. Many thanks Pete dJSFQwI

Question about optimising an inner pages apposed to the homepage
Hi Everyone, I'm currently looking to optimise the inner page of a website opposed to the homepage itself. I was wondering if I should stick to some kind of link distribution? For instance, say my website is about widgets and the url is http://www.widgets.com, I want to optimise for a much easier "blue widgets" term on an inner page with the url: http://www.widgets.com/blue-widgets. Does google discriminate against a website with a higher number of links pointing to an inner page than the homepage? If so, what would you recommend a safe distribution between the two? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, Peter.

Does anyone knows why Google is displaying my pages path instead of the URL in the search results, i discoverd that while am searching using a keyword of mine then i copied the link http://www.smarttouch.me/services-saudi/web-services/web-design and found all related results are the same, could anyone one tell me why is that and is it really differs? or the URL display is more important than the Path display for SEO!
