If others are reposting your content, how do you tell Google you are the original author?
-
A huge amount of my content is being copy and pasted to facebook, tumblr, wattpad etc...
Is there an easy way to tell Google I am the original author?
(How can I tell if this content theft affecting my rankings?)

I was looking for an answer to the 2nd part of the question.
Is there an easy way to tell google that you are the author sitewide?
It would take years to go around and do DCMAs for every piece of content that's been stolen.
One thing I've noticed: In Image Search, Google is able to do a very good at tracking the orignal picture and ranking that. In Web search, Google does a very poor job and often ranks copied content higher than the original.

Google Index Report
Hi, I have just checked my google webmaster tools account and viewed the index status of my website and it produced the attached graph, which show quite a big spike in indexing during July and August 2012. Does this look normal or does it reveal anything peculiar? We did have a new website launched in June 2012 and I re-submitted the sites URL's to google as part of the re-launch and so I am unsure if this may account for the spike. Any advice appreciated. Thanks indexing.png

Google Index/Cashe questions
I have 15k+ pages. I have 4.5k pages indexed. What relation is the google cashe to indexing pages? My site gets cashed every two days. The competition in my SERP goes 2-3weeks to get cashed. What does this indicate? Is your cashe date your last google crawl? How can I get google to crawl my site? Is there a way I can get google to crawl my site starting from an internal page. This way I could set up a better linking structure that would benefit from doing activities that get that page indexed to help get my site indexed more thoroughly...

Duplicate Content using templates
Hi, Our web site is designed using a template, which means the header and footer is consistent across all pages. Only the body content is unique on each page. Is the google bot able to see that the header and footer content is defined by the common template? Will this have any impact in terms of duplicate content? For example, we have a two line text in the footer that summarize the services we provide. Because the same text is in the footer of all pages, i am concerned about creating duplicate content. Finally, does it make sense to include keywords in header and footer of the template? Will it have any positive or negative SEO impact?
