anyone know a good tutorial on how to implement Leverage Browser Caching? Do I need something like cloud flare or can I add meta tags to do this?

You would actually add it to your htaccess file if you are using a linux server. This should help, http://www.feedthebot.com/pagespeed/leverage-browser-caching.html

How to handle images (lazy loading, compressing, caching...) to impact page load and thus SEO?

Hi all, I am looking for a conclusive answer on how to handle images on Wordpress websites. Most of the time we encounter the same problems regarding images. There are several options to make sure that images don't increase page load too much: Page caching and compressing: standard Lazy loading: helps decrease page load time, but Google might not crawl the images so not good for SEO. See this article on Googlebot scrolling. Correct image format (for example WebP): tried it several times and doesn't help much to decrease page load time. What is best practice? Are there standards or preferred options for the image dimensions and quality (max height, width, number of pixels, rectangular or square) before you upload it, also regarding responsiveness? Is it better to use .jpg, .png or WebP? To sum up, what should you do by default to handle images on websites so you can still have a good page speed even with loads of images? Thanks for your answers!

Search function rendering cached pages incorrectly

On a category page the products are listed via/in connection with the search function on the site. Page source and front-end match as they should. However when viewing a browser rendered version of a google cached page the URL for the product has changed from, as an example - https://www.example.com/products/some-product to https://www.example.com/search/products/some-product The source is a relative URL in the correct format, so therefore /search/ is added at browser rendering. The developer insists that this is ok as the query string in the Google cache page result URL is triggering the behaviour, confusing the search function - all locally. I can see this but just wanted feedback that internally Google will only ever see the true source or will it's internal rendering mechanism possibly trigger similar behaviour?

Last slow to cached pages?

Hi Guys, A lot of our pages we updated with new category based content on our e-commerce site I noticed haven't been cached for a while like This is Google's cache of https://www.domain.com/makeup/eyes/mascara. It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 15 Jun 2017 11:37:52 GMT. Does this mean that google hasn't reviewed this page yet? Could this be due to poor internally linking or something? Cheers.

Why isn't Google caching our pages?

Hi everyone, We have a new content marketing site that allows anyone to publish checklists. Each checklist is being indexed by Google, but Google is not storing a cached version of any of our checklists. Here's an example:

Robots.txt error message in Google Webmaster from a later date than the page was cached, how is that?

I have error messages in Google Webmaster that state that Googlebot encountered errors while attempting to access the robots.txt. The last date that this was reported was on December 25, 2012 (Merry Christmas), but the last cache date was November 16, 2012 (http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3Awww.etundra.com/robots.txt&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a). How could I get this error if the page hasn't been cached since November 16, 2012?

How can I leverage Places/Yelp Reviews for Attorney Schema?

A little confused by this. We have some on site reviews, is all I need is to reference that? What if we don't have "products", only "services"......should i be leveraging Places/Yelp reviews for this? Anyone add review schema for services?

My website hasn't been cached for over a month. Can anyone tell me why?

I have been working on an eCommerce site www.fuchia.co.uk. I have asked an earlier question about how to get it working and ranking and I took on board what people said (such as optimising product pages etc...) and I think i'm getting there. The problem I have now is that Google hasn't indexed my site in over a month and the homepage cache is 404'ing when I check it on Google. At the moment there is a problem with the site being live for both WWW and non-WWW versions, i have told google in Webmaster what preferred domain to use and will also be getting developers to do 301 to the preferred domain. Would this be the problem stopping Google properly indexing me? also I'm only having around 30 pages of 137 indexed from the last crawl. Can anyone tell me or suggest why my site hasn't been indexed in such a long time? Thanks

Google Cache Redirection Issue? Or awaiting DNS Propagation?

We have just launched an Australian version of our .com site. The domain example.com.au used to redirect automatically to example.com. We updated the DNS to point to our new Australian site on 13 August and have started a two week soft launch to iron out issues and allow us to start the indexing process. The issue is, when I'm checking to see if we have been crawled yet, if I do I search for: cache:http://www.example.com.au The cache automatically redirects to http://www.example.com and shows the cache for that site. The date on the cache is: 14 Aug 2012 20:47:34 GMT. My question is, have I missed something during this process or are we just waiting for the DNS change to fully propagate?
