Missing Titles?
-
Hi All,
Don't know if anyone can help me but Moz is showing lots of errors for my website for not having title tags for pages when they do?
Also when a user refines they search results it is seeing every instance of this as a new page - we have canonical tags across the site to stop this happening yet it is still occurring each time - is there anything else we can do to resolve this problem?
It's creating lots of errors for us.
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura!
I took a look at our crawl data and at the time of the crawl on November 12th our crawler did not find the titles on the page so I looked at a cached version of the page on November 8th which does show the title was missing with
Hope this helps!

I have checked the pages as Jeff did and it looks everything is ok. So may be is an error from moz report because if you do the page analysis with moz bar, shows everything is ok.
Good luck

Thanks Jeff!
Yes, this is what we found.
Do you have any idea why Moz would be saying that these page titles are missing then?
Is it not something to be concerned about then even though Moz is saying they are missing?
Thank you so much for your help.

Okay... I took a look at the original page, as well as the page that has the sorting done to it. In both cases, I was able to see that it had a page title displayed:
<title>Serviced Apartments in Greater London | Central London Apartments</title>
However, I wasn't sure if it was a browser issue, so I ran the URL through the Screaming Frog app, and found that it, too, is seeing valid page titles when items are sorted (please see attached screenshot).
I hope this helps... from my end, it looks like the page titles are showing up properly.
Thanks,
- Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Thanks so much for the quick reply!
The page is:
https://www.central-london-apartments.com/area-greater-london.php
and when a user sorts the results it's showing missing titles for pages like this:
https://www.central-london-apartments.com/area-greater-london.php?sort=recommended&page=3
Thanks,
Laura

If you can share an instance of one of the pages that has a title tag, but doesn't show up in Moz, that might help to troubleshoot?
It could be a redirect issue with the canonical tags, perhaps... but if you can post something I'd be happy to take a quick look...

Titles tags: Smart to split brand name composed of multiple keywords?
Hello, We've been following the best practices outlined in this Moz article for title tags for a long time, however I have a question about the spelling of the brand name when the brand name is composed of keywords. For example, let's say your company is called FitnessGearUSA and your website url is www.FitnessGearUSA.com. How would you spell the brand name in the title tag? In a single word 'FitnessGearUSA' or in 3 words 'Fitness Gear USA'. We've been using the first approach for a long time, but I am starting to think that the second approach would be better, especially when the customer might include a single keyword that's part of the brane name in his search For example, a product page title tag would then look like this:

Model ABC Weight Lifting Bar | Fitness Gear USA I am inclined to think that this page would rank better for a search like:
"Model ABC Lifting Bar USA" Thoughts?0 -
How long does Google takes to re-index title tags?
Hi, We have carried out changes in our website title tags. However, when I search for these pages on Google, I still see the old title tags in the search results. Is there any way to speed this process up? Thanks

Changed all product titles, lost google schema markup in listings. Temporary?
We changed all of our product titles to be way shorter and less keyword stuffed last week. Short of dropping a few places in rank for most keywords (we assume temporarily) that all went fine. What we didn't expect was to loose all the schema data in our google listings from product pages. Price, and review stars are missing. Has anyone seen this before?

My client is using a mobile template for their local pages and the Google search console is reporting thousands of duplicate titles/meta descriptions
So my client has 2000+ different store locations. Each location has the standard desktop location and my client opted for a corresponding mobile template for each location. Now the Google search console is reporting thousands of duplicate titles/meta descriptions. However this is only because the mobile template and desktop store pages are using the exact same title/meta description tag. Is Google penalizing my client for this? Would it be worth it to update the mobile template title/meta description tags?

Google Displaying wrong URL but correct page title and description in SERPS
Hi. Our second highest performing page on Google is messed up in the SERPS. This is our login page. It always ranks high. It still does, but the URL is incorrect. Google is referencing an old redirect that was for a one off campaign from January 2014. This page has long been redirected. But now the vanity url for this page is what is displayed in Google. The link goes to our login page but once you log in it redirects you to a page saying the offer has expired instead of your account details. This is a huge issue for us. Can anyone shed some light? I'm having a rel canonical added since this page is used for a lot of vanity deeplinks.

Anyone know how to fix duplicate content and titles with news section?
We use django for out site and it's working really well, but we're having an issue with duplicate titles and content via the news section. The news is basically stories sourced from other sites and we link to them via our news section. I'm not sure how to fix the duplicate title issue in this case. I noticed people recommend archiving or using a canonical, but because the news section is set up how it is I don't think that would work. Does anyone have a way around this?A
