Get search volume for 200 + keywords via API?
-
I have a list of about 500 keywords, and I want to know the search volume for each one, such that I can select a list of 200 keywords with the most search volume.
If I have all my keywords in SEOMoz (or in an excel file), is there a way to run this as a batch request instead of using the SEOMoz keyword research tool to test each one one-by-one? If this is going to require a dev to work on it, any estimates on how many hours this would take a backend dev to put in place would be appreciated!

I'm pretty sure they are just pulling those traffic volume figures directly from google adwords keyword tool. You can dump your whole list of 500 keywords in that too, and with the right settings you should get the results you are looking for.
One thing to be careful with multiple word keywords is the difference between:
-
keyword1 keyword2
-
[keyword1 keyword2]
-
"keyword1 keyword2"
Usually what i am most interested is #2 above. So what i do is dump the 500 keywords into a text editor, and replace the newlines or commas, or whatever keyword delimiter you have with a [ and then replace it on the other side with a ]
if this doesn't make anysense, you can link your list of keywords and i'll do it for you, probably would only take 2 minutes.

Unsolved Updating labels via CSV upload
Hi, I would like to update all my keyword labels via a .csv upload, however, when I try to upload the keyword file with the updated labels, I'm advised I don't have enough keywords left for the import. Am I using the correct upload tool or is there a way around this, please?

Targeted keywords for landing pages but keyword has a lot of synonyms, how is the best way to approach this?
I'm trying to target one page for one broad 2 word keyword, however, because our niche revolves around this keyword and it's synonyms, the keyword is used on every other page, thus creating the issue of non-targeted pages taking the rank instead of targeted page. I've thought of using synonyms on each page, so that no one page uses the same keyword, but felt this could be seen as spammy or could just hurt overall relevancy towards the main keyword, thus a loss of rank. I understand page authority also plays a part, but also seems that every page other than the page I want get's targeted.

Keywords with no search volume
Hi there! What are your thoughts on optimizing pages for keywords that have no search volume (using the Keyword Planner)? I'm not sure it should be done, since optimizing for keywords that no one searches for is kind of useless, right? Or should I do it hoping that sometime in the future the keyword will have a surge on searches? Thanks!

How accurate is Googles Keyword Planner?
I did some keyword research for our company. Some of the terms we got 100,000 search volume for in 2011 now have only 90 monthly searches. I am doing exact match for both US and Global and neither are any where near those high of numbers. Now I can't say how the old report on this was done but we are all a little skeptical of these numbers. Is there any other tool out there for search volume on Google? The Moz tool while it lists Google as an option only does Bing. Thank you!

Where do I go from here with my keyword research?
Hi all. I'm wondering if I can get some assistance on keyword research. I've set out a step-by-step process for myself about how to go about finding a list of keywords we want to optimise our site for. I've used a guide over at http://www.seonick.net/keyword-research to break it down step-by-step. After using Keyword Tool and Ubersuggest to get a list of keyword suggestions with their local monthly search volumes, I now have an Excel file with 1663 suggestions (yikes!). It is at this point where I am not 100% sure of what to do with this data & how to figure out which of these terms we should optimise for. I know not to go purely based on the local monthly search volume because that is not based on organic searches. So how would I go about condensing this into a list of keyword suggestions to target for optimising? Thanks in advance for assistance on this.

What is the best way and best tool to conduct Keyword Research for my site? With the Pro service is there a way to find out better keywords to add to my website? I am receiving emails that my web site is being crawled and will be completed in seven days and so far this is not a "Report Card"? is that correct? Thanks for any information

Why does Google adwords tool shows different search volume
I am not able to undertand the difference in search volume for same keyword under different heading. Let me make it clear. When i enter "Drupal Developement" in adwords tool, at the top, it shows Search term (1) Keyword Global monthly searches drupal development 390 Just below, it shows, Keyword ideas (100) Keyword Global monthly searches drupal development 40,500 I have selected the location U.S. My question is there is a huge difference in 390 and 40,500. Which is correct ?

Evaluating Competition of a Keyword
I'm curious about how others evaluate the competition of keywords when putting together an SEO program: Do you place any faith in the competition listing in the Google Keyword Tool? Do you find value in SEOmoz's Keyword Difficulty tool? What other tactics or processes do you perform?
