Can you use FB for Keyword Research?
-
Are there any tools out there or any other means that use FB newsfeeds or any FB data to help discover keywords?
Thanks,
Ruben

You can use Facebook graph search to show if there's any interest in your keywords. There aren't many great how-to articles, especially since FB recently changed a bunch of things. However, I ran across this tumblr of actual FB graph searches, which while clearly meant to be tongue-in-cheek / funny, it shows a lot of different types of combinations of searches you can use.

Not exactly like some of the other tools out there, but you can kind of get to this by using things like:
- [keyword] + site:facebook.com search at Google. For example: https://encrypted.google.com/search?hl=en&q="hot+dogs"+site:facebook.com, record the number of results (698,000) and then compare against another search.
- Use Facebook's Audience Insights and advertising tools to get audience amount estimates. This is demographic data but similar to trying to find volumes on keywords, it gives you a rough idea of how much search potential certain groups can provide.
- Google Advanced search: https://encrypted.google.com/advanced_search Again, using the Facebook.com quaifier, you'll find a lot of other search options there that can help you refine your search and get at least some idea on numbers.
That's a start so you're not making complete guesses at least. Cheers!

I Use them 100%, but The 5-star review system is archaic
The 5-star review system is archaic. Let me first say that 5-star reviews are a successful part of my eCommerce strategy and also everyone I know that is successful as well. Why are they out of date? When you look at something with a total of 400 four-stars reviws on Amazon, what does that tell you? Almost nothing if you don't read why it was not 5 stars. It could be something Amazon automatically fixes and you don't care about. Thus it's 5 stars. It could be an issue you really care about. It's now more like 3 stars or the real 4 stars. Different products have different types of things that cause less stars, not always obvious, good, or bad. Thus I propose a new system, one that you can read the rating and know what it means. It's called 3-Levels 5-Stars. It would vary per industry. For shoes it would be, like: Walking Shoe Sold Online 1. Matches Fantasy of Style I want: 1-5 2. Logistics Like cost and if it was broken on arrival: 1-5 3. Usability, Usefulness, Durability: 1-5 The goal is for 80% of the people to not have to look any farther than the three-level five-star system. Otherwise, everybody has to read every four-star review to know for sure what's up with that product. Same with 3 stars. 4 and a half stars. Just expand the little 5-star thing the world's got going to include three categories. You could also have a variation statistic for those that don't know that 4 reviews isn't a big enough set not to have variation in outcome, but that's only an extra addition.

QUESTION! Does anyone have any information about using an API to create Google Posts?
We have a client that has over 150 locations. They are using a software to post to all of their accounts at once with an API for different platforms. We are wondering if there is anyway to do this to post to their Google My Business Page.

Can someone clear up social signals as a ranking factor?
I'm aware that Google have addressed this before and specifically said that social signals are not a ranking factor: http://searchenginewatch.com/sew/news/2325343/matt-cutts-facebook-twitter-social-signals-not-part-of-google-search-ranking-algorithms However I came across this (admittedly great) infographic from Neil Patel, an SEO I have a lot of respect for: http://www.quicksprout.com/2014/01/31/how-social-signals-impact-search-engine-rankings/ In the post he specifically states that "both Google and Bing use data from social sites in order to determine how high to rank your website." I have always understood that social signals help drive links by spreading your content to a bigger audience, thereby getting your content in front of people who are likely to link. I also appreciate that content that is shareable is also likely to be linkworthy. However. Neil doesn't talk about correlation here, he talks about social signals as a ranking factor. Is he being misleading, or has the game changed since Matt Cutts said they don't use social signals?

How do your direct social media to use another picture when the web site is shared?
I set up a web site to raise funds for my nephew(www.helpmatt.org) and social media randomly picks a picture on the share. Unfortunately this picture is from happier times and sends a different message than we would like to prospective contributors. Is there a way to set the picture that is used when this web site link is shared on social media? www.helpmatt.org

FB og: tags - why?
Hi everyone, Can someone explain the benefits of adding OG tags to a site? As far as I can see/read doing this 'enables a site to become part of the FB social graph' (or similar..) ...and that's what exactly? (confused smiley) Cheers.
