Ranking dynamic landing pages
-
I have a client and I'm working on a project with their development team. We're creating dynamic landing pages populated with their lead data. Similar to the style of linkedin. For example, someone searches for "demand generation manager" and one of our pages with contact information (some) shows up in the search results. www.leadgenius.com/demandgenerationjobs (or something like that. we have yet to flesh this out).
We're also looking into different backlinking strategies to support optimizing the above mentioned pages in addition to their new site launching this month.
What is the best way to optimize the dynamic pages as well as the main site in tandem or independently?

HI Mark,
There really isn't a big secret to ranking dynamic pages. Provided they all have unique URL's then it is just a matter of populating the content based off of some parameter. I can't say what is the best way to do this but I can give you an example of how I would handle lets say a site like LinkedIn
So we have a search box that requires some input lets say we use a name.
Run a query in a database to see if we have a match. If we have multiple matches then query basic information (Location, Title, Image) show them to the user and let them select the correct one.
Once a user is selected then use that information to populate the page. So I would set as many variables as I could based off of our database information. Say we queried my name (Don Ford) and you found me from multiple matches displayed them to the user and they selected me.
$person_fname=Don
$person_lname=Ford
$person_job=Web Developer
$person_company=Columbia Engineered Rubber
etc....Then I would use this variables to generate my title, description, h1, h2 tags, and content and serve it up. Provided the page has a unique url you get my page on LinkedIn. It can be included in a sitemap, indexed by search engines and found online.
Example:
<title>$person_fname . ' ' . $person_lname . ' Professional ' . $person_job . ' At ' . $person_company</title>The real trick is how much unique content can your store in your database and return to the user. The more you have the more unique content you can display.
Since its dynamic you make everything possible dynamic including all the SEO basics. Its really that simple.

Category Page as Shopping Aggregator Page
Hi, I have been reviewing the info from Google on structured data for products and started to ponder.

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/products Here is the scenario.
You have a Category Page and it lists 8 products, each products shows an image, price and review rating. As the individual products pages are already marked up they display Rich Snippets in the serps.
I wonder how do we get the rich snippets for the category page. Now Google suggest a markup for shopping aggregator pages that lists a single product, along with information about different sellers offering that product but nothing for categories. My ponder is this, Can we use the shopping aggregator markup for category pages to achieve the coveted rich results (from and to price, average reviews)? Keen to hear from anyone who has had any thoughts on the matter or had already tried this.0 -
May integrating my main category page in the index page improve my ranking of main category keyword?
90% of our sales are made with products in one of our product categories.

A search for main category keyword returns our root domain index page in google, not the category page.
I was wondering whether integrating the complete main category directly in the index page of the root domain and this way including much more relevant content for this main category keyword may have a positive impact on our google ranking for the main category keyword. Any thoughts?1 -
Can noindexed pages accrue page authority?
My company's site has a large set of pages (tens of thousands) that have very thin or no content. They typically target a single low-competition keyword (and typically rank very well), but the pages have a very high bounce rate and are definitely hurting our domain's overall rankings via Panda (quality ranking). I'm planning on recommending we noindexed these pages temporarily, and reindex each page as resources are able to fill in content. My question is whether an individual page will be able to accrue any page authority for that target term while noindexed. We DO want to rank for all those terms, just not until we have the content to back it up. However, we're in a pretty competitive space up against domains that have been around a lot longer and have higher domain authorities. Like I said, these pages rank well right now, even with thin content. The worry is if we noindex them while we slowly build out content, will our competitors get the edge on those terms (with their subpar but continually available content)? Do you think Google will give us any credit for having had the page all along, just not always indexed?

Links / Top Pages by Page Authority ==> pages shouldnt be there
I checked my site links and top pages by page authority. What i have found i dont understand, because the first 5-10 pages did not exist!! Should know that we launched a new site and rebuilt the static pages so there are a lot of new pages, and of course we deleted some old ones. I refreshed the sitemap.xml (these pages are not in there) and upload it in GWT. Why those old pages appear under the links menu at top pages by page authority?? How can i get rid off them? thx, Endre

Substantial difference between Number of Indexed Pages and Sitemap Pages
Hey there, I am doing a website audit at the moment. I've notices substantial differences in the number of pages indexed (search console), the number of pages in the sitemap and the number I am getting when I crawl the page with screamingfrog (see below). Would those discrepancies concern you? The website and its rankings seems fine otherwise. Total indexed: 2,360 (Search Consule)

About 2,920 results (Google search "site:example.com")
Sitemap: 1,229 URLs
Screemingfrog Spider: 1,352 URLs Cheers,

Wordpress - Dynamic pages vs static pages
Hi, Our site has over 48,000 indexed links, with a good mix of pages, posts and dynamic pages. For the purposes of SEO and the recent talk of "fresh content" - would it be better to keep dynamic pages as they are or manually create static pages/ subpages. The one noticable downside with dynamic pages is that they arent picked up by any sitemap plugins, you need to manually create a separate sitemap just for these dynamic links. Any thoughts??

Good idea? Dynamic to Perkalink URLs for over 10k pages.
Hey guys, We're looking for someone who has already done this. We know permalinks are SEO best practices but changing site stucture can cause alot of ranking and traffic loss. Is it a wise idea to make the transition? How long will we see a dip in rankings before bouncing back?
