Same Back Links To All 20 Pages On My Site?
-
Hi All
I have researched 20 plumber blogs and citation sources all have page rank 1-8 and good trust and domain age.
Would it be wise to have a backlink to each of my 20 web pages from these 20 different blogs?
plumber blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
plumbing blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
how to fix leaky tap blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
how to pick the best gas boiler blog a backlink to all my 20 pages on my plumbing site
and so on
as my website is united kingdom and serve UK only, should i not use USA blogs & citation sources as this might not help increase my organic rankings?
thanks

Hi there,
from what I understand of your premise, you are asking whether you should create multiple backlinks from the same sources to each of your 20 pages. There are 2 issues you have to contend with here:
- Backlink density and propogation
As far as acquiring links goes, the key factor here is not so much the number of links you acquire, but the quality they provide your site. After gaining a link to your domain from another domain, the value of future links to your domain from the same domain diminishes, making this an extremely poor expenditure of resources on your part. For example, Google wants to see multiple domains linking to individual pages on your site rather than the same sources connecting to your site over and over on different pages. This approach is just more natural in its appearance.
Here is an updated guide to general link-building. I think this would do you some good:

- Backlink locality
Since you operate a website purely in the U.K., links from outside your country will likely be less relevant geographically if they come from other countries, but the pages being linked may not matter. For example, blogs involving tips to fix a leaky faucet or a clogged drain are likely to be equally valid regardless of who writes them or from where. On the other hand, if your site is attempting to find customers for a plumbing client of yours, it doesn't make sense to get links from plumbing material manufacturers in Texas if you work in the U.K.
To illustrate this, here is a personal favorite of mine from Rand:

In short, stick to 1 link per domain to your site unless there is something extremely relevant to your site and you feel the extra effort of building that link is worth it. Links built from UK sources are likely to be more valuable to your overall, but you can also find relevant information and data from international sources depending on the topic (in this case, informational pieces, perhaps in regards to DIY plumbing projects).
Hope this helps and feel free to follow up with further questions,
Rob

Local Landing Page Optimization and Multiple GMB Listings
Hello, We’re building out a site for our business that has close to 100 office locations in different cities. Many of these are ‘partner brands’ that we have acquired under our brand. Similar to a franchise model. We want to be able to help users find offices near their location. Each office will have it’s own landing page with a physical address and contact information. We know we’ll have to build out unique copy and markup customized to the office/location. We’ve already read through https://mza.bundledseo.com/blog/overcoming-your-fear-of-local-landing-pages as well. We’re also considering ‘silos’ to build out pages for each location. To preserve authority and avoid cannibalization; our thought was having each location as sub-folders off of our domain (i.e. domain.com/locations/Partner#1/). The other option would be using a sub-domain (i.e. Partner.Domain.com/) which we noticed competitors doing and treating each sub-domain as their own independent site. Is all of the above the correct strategy? Any further suggestions? Should we fill out a separate GMB for each office and should they all use the same brand name? (in other words “BrandA” vs. “BrandA” - Brooklyn Office). In addition to GMB; would each location need local listings created (also all under the same name)? Any help or insight would be very much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from all of you! Thank you in advance. Best,

Google Plus Pages for Doctors, SUPER confusing..help!
Hi Moz community, I carefully reviewed all info I could find and still cannot figure how to make this work. I am working for a medical practice that has 4 different office locations in my county. There are also 5-6 doctors and all of the doctors MOVE throughout the week from location to location. I know (from reading Google's exact guidelines) that they suggest creating a page for the doctor using only their name in addition to creating a page for each location. How do I set those doctor pages up? What location do I use? What contact info is okay to use etc? Super lost. Thanks all! Ricky

Multiple Sites, Different Names, Same Business. Gray Hat?!
Hey there, Mozzers! I need your help. I have a new client whose new site just went live. Today, I started the process of cleaning up their business listings throughout the web. To my surprise, I noticed that a lot of the directories already had a website domain included. I called my client to find out what was going on. Turns out they already have a site with another company, targeting the same keywords. I came across this site before during competitive analysis, but never put two and two together since it has a different name, phone number and branding (logo, color scheme, etc.). I asked if he was willing to change the link to his new site (the one we're doing SEO for), and he flat out said no. He knows the site is doing well in the SERPs and doesn't want to harm its rankings. sigh His advice? Create new listings for his 2nd location. This location has a different physical address and phone number (no toll free/shared). But I feel like this is wrong. It's the same business, but we're trying to pass as another company just to get 2 sites to the top of the SERPs. This might also confuse users. What do I do? Plus, does that mean we should only include the 2nd location on the site we created and not the 1st? I already have a disadvantage since all the quality link juice is going to the other site. smh I need y'alls advice, please! -Kanya

I tried to find a specific action to report this to Google, I am aware you can report spam for websites does this apply to the places pages as well? Can you just use the report abuse or report spam links? Anyone have any experience with this type of action with Google? Thanks.

Local Optimisation without Local Pages?
What is the best and latest technique to optimise a website target lots of multiple local areas - I have a site where we want to target 10-15 local areas - at the moment the content mentions the local areas but not all of them as I felt it was going to turn into a list or keyword stuffing.I still see sites creating individual pages for each local area and including the areas in the url - the client wants to try and resist this as they do not want a lot of "bullsh*t" pages - (there exact words). What are the latest techniques or options? What have people tried and been successful with or equally failed with?

Convert Google Plus page to Business page
I have a google plus page for my company edspire.com, https://plus.google.com/b/107395030190889162381/107395030190889162381/posts When I created it I don't think I set it up as a business so I'd like to convert to one. As far as I can see it is not possible to do this. What is the recommended process, do I just create a new one and migrate content over or is there some way to merge them? Should I then delete the old one or is it helpful to keep double posting? Thanks, Jim
