Want to set up many goals in GA
-
Hi there,
I have been reading about setting up goals in Google Analytics.
There is a 20 goal limit, but I have many goals that I want to track (basically I have many thank-you pages that I would like to track).
What is the best way to go about setting up more than 20 goals?
Thanks

The Logic of Google may just be power I wouldn't know, setting up more goals makes it a tad harder for reporting which isn't super
To set up a conversion in Moz you would need to do it in GA . I suppose you could add the thank you pages in Moz's landing page with the assumption that the only way to get to them is via the landing pages but i wouldn't be sure of the accuracy of this.
You can try event tracking which involves you putting a bit of code on all the pages you want to track but to be honest I don't have any experience with this you can read about it here

Thanks so much for your input.
Is there any logic to having a limit on goals one can set?
Would it be possible to track conversions and set up goals in Moz?

Best bet then would be to create more tracking under the same property and just set up more goals, you can also look into setting up a goal that tracks pages in the URL that have thankyou etc. in but I always found this tricky

As I see, that would not work for me I think. My thank you pages contain unique content. Some pages offer you an on-demand video, others will offer a whitepaper of case study.
So that would probably not work.

I more meant have one thank you pages (that multiple landing pages direct to) and track that, you should be able to reverse goal check for landing pages, you could also set up a goal for thank you pages but i tend to find it a bit harder. Obviously this is just my opinion but I think it will save you some time and loads of goals whilst achieving the same result

Thanks very much.
Would it make sense to create 1 goal that tracks several "thank you" pages?

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012040?hl=en
"Goals are limited to 20 per reporting view. To track more than 20 Goals, create an additional view for that property, or edit an existing Goal you don't need anymore."
what it basically means is create another property for the same website and use more, you may want to look into how you're tracking the goals though e.g. you can track things to the same landing page and then look at a reverse goal path to work out which landing page the user used to get to that goal thus you don't need to have as many goals.

Google Analytics Not Properly Attributing Goals
My GA has been working fine for years and is now suddenly attributing 100% of my goals/conversions to a "referral" source. In this case "crm.zoho.com". (see attached url) Our contact form is a zoho CRM form. When prospect fills it out online, it dumps them to a thank-you page and the conversion is counted. That all works just fine, but it is not attributing the conversion to Organic or PPC or Direct as it was a month or so ago. I'm not sure if this may be the cause, but I was cleaning up GA about a month ago, deleting some filters I didn't think I needed any more. Thank you for your help. 9CRUx

Why do WMT's Search Analytics & GA's Real Time Keywords Differ?
I took a screen shot of the keywords from Google Analytics Real Time Keywords for Google / Organic. Then I waited a week and filtered Google Webmaster Tools' Search Analytics for queries with those keywords. None of them showed up. Why not? What I missing? Why do some keywords show up in Google Analytics RT for Google / Organic while most others are in Not Provided? I see WMT's Search Analytics says that it doesn't always show queries that "are made a very small number of times or those that contain personal or sensitive information." But most of my queries are like that. Anybody know any patterns / criteria that leads WMT to show some but not others? Thanks

Google Analytics Goal/Event/SOMETHING to show only Wordpress "Posts", not pages, etc
Hi all, Our site is build on Wordpress and formerly the post URL's had the typical date format at the beginning. This made it easy for me to look at, for example, all search traffic to the blog. I would just view URL's containing /2014/ and /2015/ and boom. We have since removed the dates from the URL's with proper redirects etc, which is great, but now I can't figure out a way to look at ONLY the blog in GA. I like to track a KPI of 'search visits to blog posts' and I can't figure out how to now. Can I set up a GA event that only fires when the post type template for blog posts loads? Some other solution? I'm lost here, and there's gotta be a good way to do it...

How to filter many cities from Google analytics
I need to filter hundreds of cities from my traffic reports. I've been told that adding them all in this format: |Knutsford|Ripon|Cheadle Hulme|Congleton| and using the 'matching reg/exp from the drop down should do it... Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be working as I can still see cities like London in the results.... Any ideas?

GA Goal Tracking for Proactive Chat
Hi all, Just wondering whether anyone knows how I'd be able to track Proactive Chats as a goal in Google Analytics? So when someone visits our site, and we proactively contact them by initiating a chat (rather than a reactive chat where the visitor initiates it). Thanks!

Google Analytics Goal Funnel Visualization Issue
I've setup a goal funnel but am having an issue when I look at the funnel visualization. It doesn't appear to be recognizing the 1st step of the funnel that I've defined in the goal edit page. The "Property Listing page view" is located at /listings/xxx where xxx is the number of the property. Within the funnel, I've added /listings/*, but when I go to see the funnel visualization, I see 0 counts for this step (even though it clearly shows on the entrance page to the left "/listings/622, etc". I've attached a .pdf with a few images to help make this clearer. Any thoughts? CRD-Funnel.pdf
