Quote + Link from Associated Press
-
So almost everyone here has talked about the marvel (for a small business like me, at least) that is HARO. Recently, I was quoted in a story that was written by the Associated Press, by responding to a HARO inquiry. (story resides on their site here in case you want to look).
So looking at it with a critical mindset, is this a glorified press release at this point (the thing shows up virtually everywhere since after all, it was written by the AP).
Should I be expecting any SEO help from this?

Thanks for taking the time to respond guys. Greatly appreciated. Seriously.
I think one thing I run into, the SEO side of the business is so incredibly important, but running the actual business doesn't exactly allow me to focus on it the way I might like. It's nice to get some reassuring voices saying that yes, this is something that is going to help over the long term.
I really do appreciate you all taking the time to reply.

Agree with John. That link is pure, unadulterated 24k SEO gold. It's dofollow, it comes from a 92 DA web site ... it will pay SEO dividends for years to come. Also it's much better than a typical press release because all credible press release platforms have changed their links to "nofollow" at the urging of Google in the last year or two. Kudos to you for putting in the effort to get that.

Yes, congrats that link is gold. It is a follow link. Links like that are very hard to get. The anchor text is your website, so it will definitely assist your home page DA.
The next mozscape index is on 9 October, I expect you will see a good jump up from today.
So yes you should expect SEO help from the link. If you do not, I would undertake a technical audit of your site. https://mza.seotoolninja.com/blog/technical-site-audit-for-2015 track down any issues.
Hope that assists.

Hi Mark,
It will always help as long as you remember that not everything in SEO will always get you an immediate return in terms of links of visitors but having a press release published on more sites would always help.
-
Hi Mark,
It can help but sometimes. Like if your quoted with just your name and not your business name it won't help as much but thats only if your name isn't linked to your business.
The best thing is a link even if it's a no follow link but still great work. Just remember everything when it comes to SEO helps.

Inbound Links not showing. Links are not no follow
Over the past several months I have definitely received inbound links to my website ( none of which are no follow). I have HubSpot as well s Moz and none of the links are showing. My competitors with the same link sources are showing though. I am completely dumbfounded. Why are my inbound links not showing and how much time does it take for them to show if they show at all? Thank you!

Link building
Hello everyone, I am building links for an e-commerce site and I need to increase the value of the links we get by placing them on specific pages in order to pass more juice to inner pages. Which part of the website should I point the links to? Because there is no content section on the site what I can do is either link to the homepage (not an option) or link to inner pages such as category/subcategory/product pages. My doubt is that it wouldn't look natural to link to products pages from a piece of content or from a site where people go with the intention not to buy but to get information. Any opinions on this?

Link Location: In main page or inner "Link" page?
My question is what´s best of Link Building: have it in main page or in internal Link Pages. I have the problem that have to reduce the number of outgoing links in my mainpage to rank better, but do not want to miss any linkjuice. How Linking in Main Page or Internal Pages affects SERP for your website? And should they be Follow or not Follow? Thanks in advance Maria Jesus

Press Releases
Has anyone used PRWeb for press releases? Especially their basic plan. The link for the site itself is very valuable but I am more concerned about their distribution network. Any success with this site or any other? Thanks

NEW LINKS
Hi If you plan to add new links to a site which currently has very few inbound links what is the maximum amount you could add in any one day before it is deemed by Google to be suspicious and unatural. I am referring ot manually added links, not robotic. Thank you 🙂

Panda Update: Isn't a link still a link?
I was doing some link building and some SEO's said that the Panda update affected many websites. I am going to use eZineArticles.com as my example. EzineArticles was affected by the Panda update and does not show up in the SERPs as much as before. But they still have doFollow Links coming from the articles I am submitting. QUESTION: Regardless if EzineArticles was affected by the Panda Update, isn't a "Follow Link" still a "Follow Link" OR am I completely wasting my time on this devalued website? Edit: Yes I know a PR 0 page is not as valuable as a PR 9 page. I am asking from the standpoint of the affected Panda Update domains overall.
