Video Title length
-
Hi, I was wondering if there is a limit that anyone puts on Video Titles or descriptions? This is for video that is hosted on our server and not on Youtube.
-
Well, testing is the best way.
But if you want your video to show up in the serps (which almost never happens anymore) you can limit yourself to 55 characters. (the lenght of the title tag). If you focus on Bing go for 45.
But any other motivation based on your own platform is OK as wel.
If you consider the amount of characters that is read on twitter (the first 45) you could try to limit it to that (be concrete for your customers)

Are reusing videos considered duplicate content?
If we have a "why hire us" video, and we place it on multiple landing pages will that be considered duplicate content? All the texts and images are different, it would just be the video. Thanks, Ruben

Choosing a video hoster for a website
Hi guys, I would love to hear your opinion about which video hoster is recommendable for embedding videos on a website and why? So far, I can't decide between Youtube, Vimeo and Wistia. Youtube: + large community, snippets in Google - advertisements Vimeo: + appealing look - small audience Wistia: + easy to customize, statistics - no community, no snippets in Google Thanks in advance for any input! Benjamin

Any Free Video Analytics Tools?
Hi, we are looking for some free video analytics tools. We want to be able to provide our clients or prospective client some stats on how much reach (views, distribution, sites appearing on, etc.) their videos have. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Video Schema needs a 2nd opinion
I added a video on one of my client pages via html5, added the video schema to the URL, and submitted a video sitemap and the video still isn't showing up a week later in the SERPs. The keyword I'm typing in is a keyword that DOES trigger video results, so I'm wondering if I screwed something up and would like a second opinion. Search Query that should trigger the video: https://www.google.com/search?q=clinton+township+silverado+1500&oq=clinton+township+silverado+1500&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60.3798j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 Actual page URL: (html5 video at bottom) http://www.moranchevrolet.com/models/chevrolet-silverado1500 Video Sitemap URL: http://www.moranchevrolet.com/video_sitemap.xml I've added videos in the past via the Wistia automatic schema/sitemap generators and it worked, but via the html5 setup its a little different (like no embed). However, the video appears to check out just fine via the Google schema validator tool. Please let me know if you see anything that doesn't look right. Thanks

Question about Wistia and possible other Video Solutions for better SEO?
We are considering using Wistia as a more SEO-friendly video solution. In our preliminary tests, we like what we see with the exception of one thing. There is no way for video users to toggle the interactive transcripts on and off. From an aesthetic viewpoint, our team finds the scrolling text extremely visually distracting. For usability and SEO purposes, we know that having the transcript there is important. Unfortunately in the embed codes, you are limited to either including the interactive transcript, or leaving it out. There is no mechanism to allow users to view it if they want to, but leave it off if they don.t Has anyone here created a workaround for this problem or found another solution, like Wistia, that has a more aethetically pleasing and user-friendly presentation of trascripts/captions? Thanks! Dana

What is the best way to include video transcripts on your pages?
I just posted a question as a comment on this blog post (http://www.audiotranscription.org/6-reasons-you-need-to-have-your-sites-videos-transcribed/comment-page-1/#comment-4311) and realized I probably should have asked the question here because it is really SEO-related. We are in the process of transcribing all of our videos. Can you someone recommend how best to post the transcript file on our product pages? For example, here's a product page that has a video review on it: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/behringer-x32-digital-mixing-system. Would it be best to post a link to the transcript file or insert the iframe transcript file from DotSub.com (in that case wouldn't DotSub.com be getting credit for our original content?) or, should we just let our captions on the YouTube stream from there (which is what's happening right now)? Will Google still crawl the transcript if the only place it's available is on YouTube? If so, doesn't YouTube get credited for that content, and not our site? Even if we do post a trascript on the page, if it appeared at YouTube first, wouldn't YouTube get credit for the original version? We want credit for that content...just not sure how to get it? I understand that moving to Wistia.com would probably solve most of these issues. What I'm trying to figure out is how best to handle new transcripts for existing videos over at YouTube?

Finding Pages with Youtube Embedded Videos in Google SERP
I'm trying to figure out a process to find specific youtube embed videos using Google search. But a lot of sites are not being returned. For example, I know that the following video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MnylRaQC3w) is linked to and embedded on http://gizmodo.com/5898438/watch-how-fender-builds-its-iconic-stratocasters However, I can't figure out a set of search terms to find that in Google. Searching for (1MnylRaQC3w Gizmodo) doesn't return the right page in the results. I'd like to figure this out so I could see everywhere a certain youtube video has been embedded.
