GA Internal Site Search Correct Query Parameter?
-
Hi Guys,
Recently added GA internal site search to a sub-folder: http://tinyurl.com/jhm9cyl
Just want to confirm would the query parameter be:
/search/
Or different because it's a sub-folder?
Cheers.

Hi Jay,
If I check the page you gave as an example using the Tag Assistant it states "No tags found"

Hi Dirks,
Thanks for that. The site/page is tagged with GA.

True. GA works if your links are http://www.example.com/?q=term or http://www.example.com/?s=search. Of course you can change q or s, but way as they work you can't. But you can "hack" this:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012264All you need is to include on search page (and only on search pages) this code if you using analytics.js:
ga('send', 'pageview', '/search_results.php?q=keyword');
and that's all. -
Hi,
In the example you mentioned the query parameter would be q - as your syntax is domain.com/search?q=keyword - check here for more info: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1012264?hl=en#Params
(I imagine you gave the link as example as the site isn't tagged for Google Analytics)

Query on Google Experiment?
Hello All, I am doing A/B testing via google analytic experiment now my query is for my ecommerce site homepage i am trying to add newsletter in 3 different way so it will be variation A, Variation B and Variation C. So my query is what should be then original page? Currently there is no newsletter form on homepage. Do I consider original page as Variation A? i.e. abcd.com?variation-A as original page? Then google will decide winner between original page i.e. variation A and Variation B & C Thanks!

Weird Math in GA Ecommerce Tracking
Hi everybody. I've recently discovered that I have a problem with the ecommerce tracking on a client's website. The client sells concert tickets at an average price of $10 per ticket. The custom ecommerce platform they use is kind of unusual; the same product often has different SKUs, but not always. This isn't associated with different seats, etc. In fact, I don't yet know why they've set it up that way. The problem that I'm facing is this: the data in Analytics is calculating the "average price" of a SKU item as the total price. If, for example, the actual average price for a SKU item is $10 and four of those SKU items were sold, Analytics will tell me the average price is $40. This means that the total revenue for that SKU shows up as $40 x 4 = $160. Needless to say, this is enormously skewing the data. Here's a screenshot. Note, it's the same product: http://screencast.com/t/JyLQkb3jzz6s The total revenue for ticket sales is way off because of this, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the ecommerce tracking code in Analytics, or something that the ecomm platform is doing. Have any of you experienced anything like this, and if so is it a fix in Analytics? Thank you!

Google Web Master Tools show that my site has been crawled, but search results show old title tags, ect.
Does the index report reflect what will be displayed on Google results? Google seems to be indexing my site every Sunday...

If you have G+ buttons on your site, does google still suggest you add them?
We've had G+ buttons on the site for many months now (Can't remember exactly when they were added.) Yet in Google Webmaster Tools, they still give me this message: "Get more recommendations in Google Search and grow your audience on Google+. Add the Google+ badge to your site." Is this happening to everyone, or is it just me? Do they think the buttons aren't there? Also, they say this: "Your site doesn't have enough +1's yet to show characteristics." According to the stats, 551 unique people have +1'd our pages. How many does it take, to get stats? Anyone willing to give stats?

I am getting "No Data" reads for some of my sites - I personally think it has to do with the site's construction - especially the landing page... I inherited this site to do SEO - it was not created with on site SEO in mind - please help if you can sites are: www.storagesanangelo.com www.storagemidland.com Should I get webmaster to remove the big map graphic and add text and pics instead... Sure appreciate brilliant thoughts - even about yetis and beer

Analytics tagging parameters effect on site SEO
One of the effective tools used in analytics tagging is the use of analytics parameters that starts with '?' or '#'. Example on site tagging: Main link: www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/ www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?lid=topnav www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?lid=sidenav All three links link to the same landing page, with an extra parameter. Using email or campaign tagging: www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/ www.domainname.com./category/sub-category/?utm_source=launch&utm_medium=email&utm_term=html&utm_content=getscoop&utm_campaign=hwdyrwm2012 With that we create many tagged links based on the campaign internal strategy. How do these effect indexing, and link juice? How do thy effect SEO in general?
