Having trouble choosing a domain for my new project
-
Hello,
I'm starting an informational website. The topics that will be covered will be
conspiracy theory
orgone
spiritual awakening
kundalini
Ancient Knowledge.
and related topics
The problem is that a lot of people coming in on conspiracy theory topics might not like a domain like trulyawake.com, yet that's what I lean to.
I want it to be clever.
Eventually there will be products and ads. Looking for a way to tie everything together.
Thank you.

I like gathertruth.com I would go with that one.
Hope that helps some. Good luck with the new website.
-
It's either that or gathertruth.com
Let me know which of the two you like best from all perspectives and why:
Last call and then I'm just going to make a decision.
Thanks.

Awaken as one? I like awakeningstudies.com though I dont think it is too long.
-
Do you think awakeningstudies.com is too long?
I want the word awakening in it instead of awake, and trulyawakening.com is not right.
Want it to be eye catching, let me know if you think of anything that is more going to "grab you"
Thanks Jordan

I kind of dig trulyawake.com. I would try to choose a name that would be easy to brand and market to people interested in those topics. Come up with a giant list and slowly weed out ones that would not be a good fit. If you are having some trouble Shopify has a neat business name generator that may help.
Ps: I think "The Theorist" would be a pretty awesome name.
Hope that helps some

Should I use our brand when choosing keywords/making lists?
I have recently joined an accounting firm and am in charge of SEO as we revamp the website. As this is the first time I've done SEO for this type of site, my question is: Should the keywords I choose include our Brand (name of the company) in the keyword. For example, I'm not trying to rank #1 for "Careers" but I do want to rank #1 for " <ourbrand>Careers". So, should I include the brand when doing my research, making lists, etc.?</ourbrand> If the question doesn't make sense, please ask for clarification.

Creating a new page versus adding to existing page (for targeting a keyword phrase)
What are your considerations when deciding whether to create a brand new page versus adding content to an existing page when targeting a new keyword phrase on your site? My thought is that if it is mildly competitive, a new page would make more sense since you can optimize the title tags and URL. But if it is long tail and low competition, you would be better off to add a paragraph to an existing page to minimize diluting your website by adding more pages.

3 (similar) keywords - 3 (similar) domains - best strategy?
Hi all! I've got head scratcher here, your input would be super valuable! We have these 3 exact match domains. FloatTank.ca
Keyword Research | | BrightIdeas
IsolationTank.ca
SensoryDeprivationTank.ca The domains are all 3 different ways of saying the exact same thing - and each of the 3 keywords have roughly the same amount of traffic. Right now we are just providing information on Float Tanks / Isolation Tanks / Sensory Deprivation Tanks, their benefits are and how to use them, where to find a location etc. Do you have any strategies or advice considering the current domains and the points below? The content on each site would be VERY SIMILAR, as they are all talking about the same thing, "floating". Any suggestions for this? We want to (sometime in the near future) create a branded website. ie. FloatNation.ca in which we rank for all 3 of the above terms. Should we spin content for each site, and then create a 301 down the road to our main domain? Your input is appreciated! All the best,

Domain name selection + Branding
Hello All, Would like to understand the relation between selecting a domain name and the branding of ones organization. Recently a friend came upto me and asked as to how he could select his domain name so that factors like seo visibility and uniqueness fall into place correctly. Is there some website which could permutate / combine few keywords and suggest domain names. Also help in deciding whether selecting that domain name would be advantegous over other or not. Common names like cart , food, vacation etc if names formed keeping these in between as domain names could cause issues where in a lot of influential names could pop up on the searches and make your domain irrelavant. Any ideas how to overcome this problem

Influencing which page google chooses as the authority for a certain keyword
I have spent the last year optimizing my site for a specific keyword that I believed would do well with respect to conversions. The good news is that my efforts have somewhat succeed. I am now ranking second for a pretty popular keyword, and this effort has definitely increased my traffic. The bad news is that the target page that shows up for the optimized keywords isn't really the authoritative page on my site for the given keywords. As a result, it is my belief that my bounce rate is increasing and my conversions are decreasing. To be more specific, let's say I have optimized my site for the keywords "cool widgets". On my site, I am referencing "cool widgets" in key areas such as title, meta keywords etc. I am referencing the above both on my homepage as well as the cool-widgets page. So, http://www.mysite.com and http://www.mysite.com both contain pretty heavy optimization for "cool widgets". When a user searches "cool widgets", google is displaying mysite.com - however, i'd like it to display mysite.com/cool-widgets like all my competitors. Is there any advice or light the community can shed on how I might go about correcting this issue? I don't think I want to de-optimize my home page, as I am afraid I might lose that position and not have it replaced with the more relevant target page. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Roy

How to choose keywords for a small, local business
I have a client who is a small, local business that isn't interested in competing outside of their market. Let's use a Toyota dealership in Anytown USA as an example. Which method makes more sense? A: Optimize for keywords like "toyota", "used cars", etc. and hope the search engines show the site to local users? Or B: Optimize for keywords like "toyota anytown" and "used cars anytown" and take localization out of the equation? Kind of a newbie trying to figure out how best to approach SEO for sites that are highly geographic.

Does google exact match domain name bonus work if the keywords are reversed?
For example, we all know that there is a ranking boost to having a domain name: http://bluewidgets.com when someone searches for "blue widgets". But would the domain name http://widgetsblue.com also get a bonus in the serp for "blue widgets" ?
