SEO and Conversions from a C-Level perspective
-
Hi guys!
Do you have any suggestion about articles about how to work with conversions and SEO from a C-level perspective? I know it is very open question, but there might be articles like (https://mza.bundledseo.com/ugc/how-can-pr-seo-and-ceo-people-work-together-for-link-building) that are great and written on this subject. Could you please share if you have any examples?
I'm thinking for these perspectives:
-
What knowledge and insight does a management team need to take control and drive the SEO and CRO related work (from a executive level)?
-
How do the management team connect business strategy and goals with the SEO and CRO area?
Have a great day!

From my perspective, here are the biggest things a CEO can do to lead and foster a thriving SEO and CRO program:
- Be very clear on the goals of the project, make sure the goals are realistic and that everyone agrees they are realistic, and set a time frame to achieve them. You can tie this to business goals by understanding how each piece of the puzzle fits together. For example, you might say "we want to make an extra $X in revenue this year. We made $Y last year. If we can increase organic traffic to the website by A% and increase overall conversion rate from the website by B%, that will contribute $Z toward that goal."
- Create an environment where it's not only easy, but required that SEO and CRO teams are working together and sharing data. If teams won't work well together, build those goals into their performance reviews and make it clear it's a requirement of their jobs.
- Make sure the SEO team is included on decisions about CRO tools, and that they're involved in implementation, so that CRO isn't implemented in a way that will negatively impact SEO.
- Dedicate some developer resources specifically to SEO and CRO projects. Once a CRO test has generated results, make sure those findings are implemented quickly.
I think the biggest things that negatively impact a cross-team program are siloing (nobody knows what's going on with anybody else), lack of resources, and a disconnect around goals.
I hope that helps!

The reality is that it depends. I met CEO's with extensive experience that understand every aspect of a specification and CEO's that only care about the final result. In the second case the best technique is to try to estimate in terms of revenue the impact of your recommendations and stay out of too many details.

Better Conversions with Java Script Pop Up Form or with Independent Page (URL)?
Greetings MOZ Community? I manage a commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com). Visitors view listings (for example:http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings/303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf). If they want more details they click on the "Interested In This Space, Contact a Broker" button. They get directed to a contact us form like: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/contact-us?from_listing=303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf We are redesigning this form. Remove much of the text and allowing the visitor to check questions pertaining to the property, like "Schedule a Tour", "Get Floorplans", "Details on Similar Space'. Currently this conversion form is on its own URL, and as such has menus on top, which I am concerned could distract the visitor. Would we get better conversions if this form was a Java script pop up with no menus. That way there would be no distraction for the visitor and we would have a better chance of converting them. Any thoughts? Also, we are using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track conversions. Would changing to a Java Script pop up form have any implications for tracking? Thanks everyone!!! Alan

Conversion Suggestions or Ideas
Late last year we did an overhaul of our website. We didn't change we did or what we sell just the format and overall look. What used to work for Adwords and Adcenter conversions doesn't seem to work as well on the new site. Any suggestions on where I should start to turn this around?

How to improve my conversions
Hey all, As always thanks in advance to any help given. So I think we haven't done a bad job, but I know there is always more that can be done with conversions. We have a website which provides guestlist to clubs in London, we are competitive on our keywords and ppc and get the clicks through with very very relevant adverts and meta descriptions.... The questions is 'How do I improve our conversion rate on page?' The said pages are setup like the examples below: www.capitalalist.com/movida-guestlist/ www.capitalalist.com/chinawhite-guestlist/ www.capitalalist.com/mahiki-guestlist/ The conversion comes when the click 'join guestlist' and fill out the form. Any help with be GREATLY appreciated!

How to track PPC conversions?
I use both adwords and Microsoft Adcenter. I am looking to be able to track my conversions from each PPC site. I do not have a "Thank You" or "Check Out" page that I can tag because any sales that I make are through clicks on a link that goes offsite to an affiliate company that I receive commission from. However, the link on my site is a "Buy Now" button, so to get some idea of which source is giving me better conversions I'd like to know whether adcenter or adwords is sending more people that end up clicking this link. Canb anyone suggest a way or a program to set up in this manner? Thanks in advance for your help!
