Is there any research or detailed review of whether the jetpack wordpress firehose has a definite benefit for seo?

I'm not aware of any research or detailed reviews, but it is safe to say that if other webmasters are utilizing the content from the firehouse and subsequently linking back to your site, there is an inherent benefit for SEO based on the link acquisition.

Traffic to blog home page is going down after changing my WordPress Theme

I recently changed my wordpress theme from a standard free theme to a newer theme. The home page I switched up a bit adding more calls to action to some of our top posts and leading people to popular categories and so on. This greatly improved the usability of our site as it allowed us to highlight new posts. The previous free template simply listed 10 of our most recent posts on a page with small snippets and then you had to move to the next page to keep reading. Since switching my theme the blog traffic has stayed relatively level. That being said, the specific posts traffic is going up a lot whereas the organic traffic to the blog homepage is now nearly depleted. Is this a common thing to happen or is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Wordpress Old Articles date - Update or Not

Hey there! Been reading around and I believe that there isn't a perfect answer to this question, but I surely want to know your opinion. It's a fact that google likes new content but also updated content, so whats your position concerning the wordpress articles. Meaning, when I decide to update articles from 2011 on its content, should I also update the date? If I make a search and an article from 2011 will be shown, its unlikely that I will click on it... So that you can understand my point.

3rd Party Commenting System for Wordpress Blog

I'll be starting a new blog within a week, for that i'm thinking to implement a 3rd party comment system instead of default wordpress comment system. I'm thinking of Livefyre or Facebook Comment System. Mostly my heart is saying to go for Livefyre. Images for WordPress

I'd be grateful for any advice regarding sourcing, adding & attributing images/photos for my WordPress blog. Budget is tight so have to rule out paid stock libraries, but I heard that Flickr images can be used under Creative Commons providing they are correctly attributed. eg. http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/business-of-it/2011/04/07/mps-criticise-bbc-siemens-38m-contract-failure-40092428/ eg 2. http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/networking/2011/10/05/bt-lines-up-300mbps-broadband-launch-40094109/ Example 1 does not seem to link back but example 2 does.
