Does a DV SSL Certificate Help with SEO more than a standard SSL?
-
I've found information on both sides of the topics, so I'd love to get some thoughts and insights from people here.
Does a DV SSL Certificate have more SEO benefits than a standard SSL certificate?
I understand the "boost" from an SSL is minimal, but is there extra value in the DV? Some have argued that since a DV SSL is "certified", that Google gives it more preference over a standard SSL. While others have argued that a DV SSL is only required for specific types of websites, which is why Google doesn't give them special preference.
Thoughts? Opinions? Proof?
Thanks everyone!

There's a old use case, but I can't seems to be able to find it googling right now. I remember reading it before to switch few websites to ssl, at least two years ago.
Anyhow they examined few websites before and after switching to standard ssl (some) and ev ssl (some others), and they found out the conversion rate didn't change with standard ssl, and it decrease with ev ssl.
Why could it be? Not clear. Probably because no one noticed the change to ssl, while ev ssl being so prominent lead some to notice it. And as it often happen if a buyer is not concerned of something and you rise the topic to him you feed a doubt, and when you feed a doubt you delay a purchase, and when a purchase is delayed is potentially lost.

I looked after three sites who we upgraded to standard SSL to a DV SSL for reasons other than SEO.
I was interested if there would be any SEO benefit, I could not see any changes that I could link back to the SSL change after a few months of tracking.

Does user engagement or content of pages requiring login help SEO?
Hi! Our company is trying to come up with a few pages with some manuals to teach our users how to use our products. However, these pages require username and password. My understanding is that user engagement will help a website's keyword rankings and Google will not be able to crawl or have access to pages requiring login as it doesn't have username and password. Based on that idea, does that mean all the content and user engagement on those pages requiring login won't help our overall SEO? Thanks in advance!

Helping finding a link
Hi So Ive done a crawl of the site using screaming frog. There are a few old category and sub category pages which don't exist any more but somehow the crawler is finding them. An example is below: http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Home-Appliances/cat/Health-&-Beauty/subcat/Male-Grooming Just wondering if anybody had any ideas about how I could go and find these urls and remove them off the site. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks Andy

Google Dropping Pages After SEO Clean Up
I have been using SEOmoz to clear errors from a site. There
Technical SEO | | Andy56
were over 10,000 errors to start with. Most of these were duplicate content, duplicate titles and too many links on a page. Most of the duplicate errors have now been
cleared. This has been done in two weeks (down to around 3000 errors now). But instead of improving my rankings, pages that were on the second page of Google have started to drop out of the listings altogether. The pages that are dropping out
are not related to the duplicate problems and get A grades when I run SEOmoz
page reports. Can you clean up too much too quickly or is there likely to be another reason for it?0 -

Sub Domain SEO
I am thinking to Add Sub Domains to get better rankings for Local Searches. So I will develop City Specific Sites with Specific Language. For Example qatar.wisnetsol.com. IT will be in Arabic. If my Good standing and Ranking on Google for wisnetsol.com will help my subdomain to rank better? if we setup wisnetsol.com/qatar, how it can target Qatar in Google Webmaster tools? Will links for qatar.wisnetsol.com and wisnetsol.com are seprate? What do you think about this strategy? Is it good or bad?
