Best way to find new studies?

I'm wondering how sites break news without dedicating too much time researching.
Are there any tools that you use? For example, if you wanted to be one of the first people to know when a celebrity was diagnosed with a health condition, how would you go about doing that?

<cite>www.google.co.uk/trends</cite> very useful for this type of thing

if you wanted to be one of the first people to know when a celebrity was diagnosed with a health condition, how would you go about doing that?
News outlets pay top dollar for this information. Everyone wants to break the news.
The best you can realistically do is set up RSS feeds based on keywords. If you have a particular celebrity in mind such as "Madonna", then you can monitor 100+ sites for any news on Madonna.
Using this method you would receive the news immediately, but the rest of the world would be informed as well. If you attempted to rank for an article on this topic, you would be competing with all the top publishers world-wide.

You could set up Google Alerts for phrases you are interested in (I follow all the makes of cars I represent), and follow some blogs that continue to have breaking news first. I have mine set to make a noise when something pops up.

Which is the best way - to have all FAQ pages at one place, or splitted in different sections of the website?
Hi all, We have a lot of FAQ sections on our website, splitted in different places, depending on products, technologies, etc. If we want to optimize our content for Google's Featured Snippets, Voice Search and etc. - what is the best option: to combine them all in one FAQ section? or it doesn't matter for Google that this type of content is not in one place? Thank you!

Using Google to find a discontinued product.
Hi Guys. I mostly use this forum for business questions, but now it's a personal one! I'm trying to find a supplier that might still have discontinued product. It's the Behritone C5A speaker monitor. All my searches bring up a plethora of pages that appear to sell the product... but they have no stock. (Wouldn't removing these pages make for a better internet?) No 2nd hand ones on eBay 😞 Do you have any suggestion about how I can get more relevant results... i.e find supplier that might still have stock? Any tips or trick I may be able to use to help me with this? Many thanks in advance to an awesome community 🙂 Isaac.

Question About : Redirecting Old Pages to New & More Relevant Ones
I'm looking over a friends website, which used to have great natural ranking for some big keywords. Those ranking & CTR's have dropped a lot, so the next thing I checked into was top selling Brand & Category pages. Its seems like every year or so a New Page was constructed for each brand... Many of which have high quality and natural inbound links. However, the pages no longer have products and simply look outdated. I'm trying to figure out if they should place redirects on all the old pages to a new URL which is more seo friendly. Example Links : http://www.xyz.com/nike2004.html , http://www.xyz.com/nike-spring2006.html , http://www.xyz.com/2011-nike-shoes.html - (have quality inbound links, bad content) .... Basically would it be advantageous to place redirects on all of these example pages to a new one that will be more permanent... http://www.xyz.com/nike-shoes.html I'm also looking at about 15 brands and maybe 100+ old/outdated urls, so I wasn't sure if I should do this & to what extent. Considering many of the brand pages do rank, but not as well as they should... Any input would help, thanks

New .TLD domains - SEO Value?
Hi all, I see that a new wave of domains are to be released soon. We are not talking or 1 or 2 new extensions, but more like 700 new extensions on a TLD level. What's your views on their SEO value? thanks!

Best way of seeing how many links come from individual root domain domains.
Just wondering how best to see this - which tool to use. I'm dealing with a website with several thousand inbound links from around 100 root domains. Thanks in advance, Luke

Permalinks best structure
Hello all, 1. I have a website under WordPress and I would like to know whici is the best permalink structure? I have seen in many post that /%postname%/ would be the best in terms of SEO although performance is not very good (But in WP latest version the speed issue has been solved?). 2. Additionally I would like to know if in terms of SEO it is better to publich the content as a page or as a post. The page publishing allows to have the path: www.example.com/page/subpage/etc... root that I understand is good for SEO? 3. How does affect for SEO a page i.e. www.example.com/page1 with links to different posts that have the permalink structure i.e: /%postname%/ I mean, if I click on the page www.example.com/page1 and then in the link to the POST inside that page and I am redirected to www.example.com/post How does affect the SEO? Thank you very much for the help, Best regards, Antonio

How long does it take for a new website to start showing in the SERP'S
I launched my website about 6 weeks ago. It was indexed fairly quickly. But it is not showing up in the Google SERP. I did do the on page SEO and followed the best practise's for my website. I have also been checking webmaster tools and it tells me that there is no errors with my site. I also ran it through the seomoz on page seo analyzer and again no real big issues. According to seomoz I had 1 duplicate content issue with my blog posts, which i corrected. I understand it takes some time, but any ideas of how much time? And f.y.i it's a Canadian website. So it should be a lot easier to rank as well. Could my site be caught in the Google 'sandbox effect' ? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
