Google Analytice for Shopping Results
-
We are trying to optimise for Google Shopping and therefore would like to be able to monitor traffic to site from this source? How can this be done in Google Analytics? Thanks
-
You could add a campaign tracking code to the end of the URLs in your Google Shopping Feed and then view the reports in the campaigns section in Google Analytics.
Add something along the line of the below to the shopping feed URLs:
?utm_medium=google_shopping&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=google_shopping_feed.

Can I redo my submitted sitemap to Google?
We are a electronic hardware manufacture with a fairly large catalog of products. I dynamically built our site and we have over 705,000 unique products that we can offer. With our php framework I was able to create sitemaps that hold every product unique url. After doing all of that I submitted our data to Google. Then waited with a cocktail encouraged that we'd grow up the ranks of Google organically. Well, that didn't happen. Besides several other problems (lack of overall unique content, appearance of duplicate content, no meta description, no unique page titles, poor use of heading tags and no rel canonical tags) how can I get a "do-over" with Google and my submitted sitemaps? Can they be re-submitted? Can they even be deleted?

E-commerce data import Google Analytics
Hi there, Since a few weeks we have started a cooperation with a big online wholesale company which now sells our products. I want to import simple E-commerce data: amount of transactions and revenue. More detailed data such as amount of products, name of products, etc. is not necessary in the first place. Now I discovered the 'data import' functionality in Google Analytics but I can't find any suitable option for E-commerce data import. The data from the wholesale company is gathered in a nice export in a separate system, so there should be a way ti import this data into Analytics. Could anybody help me with this? Any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.

How does switching to HTTPS effect Google Analytics?
We are looking at making our site HTTPS. We have been using the same Google Analytics account for years and I like having the historical data. All of our pages will be the same, we are just going to redirect from the http to https. Does anything need to be done with Google Analytics? What about other addons such as Optimizely, Crazy Egg, or Share this?

Is google too volatile to rely on? Should I move to PPC? (screenshots attached)
I've attached 2 analytics screenshots of sites of mine. I can't believe how volatile google has been this year for no apparant reason. The on site of my sites has not changed much throughout the year and I've not spent any serious amount of time on link building after initially building some links when the sites where first launched. As you can see from Screenshot 1 show gradual growth throughout the year but in August google completely killed all traffic from my site. Disheartened I pretty much gave up and didn't spend any time on the site at all. The for no reason in September the site bounced back with more traffic than ever. The second screenshot for another of my sites shows intial growth and the google kills the visits again in April. It's not until June that the site starts to see growth again but after it reaches its peak mid October google kills all traffic again! Does anyone else think that google is far to volatile for any serious business to rely on it for generating customers? I'm considering moving to PPC which is probably the end game for google but early tests show conversion rates are much lower on adwords which I don't really understand as it's essentially the same traffic source. I've been careful to create relevant landing pages for keywords in adwords. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. 3Itysj1.png ijoarzV.png

Blended results in google ???
I am a little confused about my search results. My ranking on google is displayed as #42. HOWEVER, I am #1 in the LOCAL results... what does that mean? Am I really #42? or am I #1 because local is listed over the organic results?

Any advice for better results for local search in the UK ?
Hi there, I have tried the tools here, and they are BRILLIANT but maybe to much for me. I just wondered if anyone in the UK had time to give me some advice. A lot of my customers are small businesses (mainly trades, like plumbers, builders etc etc), and I am trying to find best practices for getting them more quality traffic amidst a lot of competition. One customer I am working with currently has 50+ competitiors for his small plumbing business that are within 5 miles of him and have an effective web prescence. In those circumstances (take it as read that I have killed myself creating quality content that I am proud of for this client), does anyone have any killer advice for me that could make my sites more effective ? If anyone does have the time I am more than willing to PM the URL I am working with at the moment. Thanks for your time..

Google Analytics
Hello In Google analytics you can obtain the number of visits as a result of non-paid search. You can also set up custom reports to find the number of organic searches. The numbers are different, so what is the obvious difference between these two metrics that I'm missing. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Neil
