Redirect and Redirect Error in Moz Crawl
-
Hello,
We have a wordpress blog attached to our magento website located at
Moz was coming back showing we had multiple page versions on show (http and https)
So i updated the htaccess file to what is below. This has fixed most of the errors, however the homepage is being a little tricky. Moz is now saying that the page is redirecting and redirecting again
http://www.domain.co.uk/blog to
http://www.domain.co.uk/blog/ to
https://www.domain.co.uk/blog/BEGIN WordPress
<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /blog/</ifmodule>RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]END WordPress
Within wordpress settings the urls are set up as follows
Wordpress Address URL: https://www.domain.co.uk/blog
Site Address URL: https://www.domain.co.uk/blog
i tried to add a trailing / to these but it gets automatically removed. So i am assuming that wordpress is serving up
**RewriteBase /blog/ **is re-directing it to /
then my https rewrite is re-directing it again
I am not sure where exactly to fix this, could anybody advise?
Many thanks,
-

Thanks for the response Andy but i think i have solved it.
It belive the links redirect as originally posted, but i found a link set to the original link http://www.domain.co.uk/blog
I have updated this link and as hopefully this will stop the error in Moz.
Thanks for taking a glance though

Solve Redirect Chains
I've gotten a few Redirect Issues that involve Redirect Chains, with the https:// version redirecting to the www. version and then redirecting to the right URL. Here is an example:
On-Page Optimization | | Billywig
Schermafbeelding 2021-12-07 om 11.04.32.png I've tried setting a direct redirect between the first and the last URL, but WordPress doesn't seem to allow that (it's overwritten). I've also tried checking the internal links to make sure that none of the links are the first one. They don't seem to be there. Does anyone have any tips on solving these Redirect Chains?0 -
Help with Temporary Redirects on Pages
Hi Guys, My latest crawl shows this: "44% of site pages served 302 redirects during the last crawl" When I click this to investigate the issue I see: URL:
On-Page Optimization | | jeeyer
https://www.....
https://www.....
https://www.....
https://www.....
https://www..... And under Redirect URL:
http://www....
http://www....
http://www.... I've recently read an article from Yoast that this is a https:// to http:// redirect (ofcourse 😉 ).
but why is this an issue that needs to be solved and how do I solved it? Thanks again for your help and thoughts. Joost0 -
Does MOZ do more than report after report?
Does MOZ do more than churn out report after report? I do appreciate the useful information about my keyword rankings and from the crawls - the report cards are great too. But I need my site analyzed. I need to know what about my blog as a whole is wrong. I did very well with google traffic until the summer when my traffic plummeted overnight due to a Google Panda update/tweak. I have been working really hard and I know I am doing the right things (I got 28K unique visitors this past month and people are sticking around) but I still get basically no organic traffic. Is there a feature in Moz that can tell me what is broken? Like an SEO Audit? I feel that there are things I am missing that are more technical and I don't know how to find out what they are.

Redirecting to homepage ok?
I deleted a bunch of category pages (renamed mostly actually and thought they'd be auto redirected like my blog posts are but they weren't) so I used a plugin that reroutes any 404 page to the homepage. Is that the best thing to do in this situation? Google Webmasters says there are about 84 404-errors and this should get rid of those right? Is there anything SEO BAD about doing it this way?

SEOMOZ crawler ignoring redirect?
My crawl report for www.poker-coaching.net show a number of duplicate content warnings.
On-Page Optimization | | CatfishTPA
First, it shows a warning for www.poker-coaching.net and www.poker-coaching.net/, although there is a redirect in place for this, and for non-www. to www. as well. So IMO there is no duplicate content here, so why the error message?
Next, it shows a duplicate content warning for a number of pages, but when I click the number on the right, there is no info an which pages contain the duplicate content. Will this info be there later when the crawl is completed? My problem is that this is my oldest site, but since over one year it seems to have a penalty which I can't get rid of - I cannot identify the reason for the penalty. I already rebuilt the site from scratch once, but I still do not see results. If a membership at SEOMOZ would be able to help me bring this site back on track, that would already be worth one years membership fees, so I'd really be very thankful if someone could take a look at the site and give me an idea about what needs to be done here.0 -
Should I fix 302 redirects?
I have a Magento ecommerce site that allows customers to compare products. When SEOmoz crawled the site, it came back with over 6,000 302 redirect errors related to the compare products feature. Is this harming our rankings? And any suggestions on the best way to fix it?
