Better use Google Analytics? This is for Conversion Rate Optimization purposes
-
Hi Moz-ers,
I've had much help from the Moz community and hoping you can help me out on this one too.
I would like to track everyone who visits our town listing pages. We operate much like ratings and reviews websites like tripadvisor and booking.com. What is the best way to track visitors coming to our listings pages only (for example tripadvisor shows top 10 hotels in London.) I would like Google Analytics on London and all other towns including Birmingham, Southampton ect...
Is it possible to set up Google analytics to track this?
These are our highest volume pages so having an idea of the traffic behaviour is crucial for SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization.
As usual, looking forward to the advice we receive!
Thanks,
Eric -
Hi Roman,
Please could you explain briefly why those steps are important?
Is search queries what they search on google and then come through to our page? If so, would linking some Keywords research be really useful here?
Source of traffic is really important, how can I easily manage a large site where not all UTMs are set up? I also need to differentiate between paid and organic listings. What are your tips in doing this?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hi John,
Thank you for your help and suggestion of creating comments.
I do think the aim is broader. I'd love to create customer journeys and see the behaviour of our visitors to the site. Segments on those pages are indeed a start. Where should I go from there?
Then, the ability to understand what our visitors are looking for (info, guidance or advice) and come up with data backed solutions to improve customer experience. How can I effectively come up with a evaluation based of GA data?
Really appreciate your help on this!
Many thanks,
Eric

What do you want to track in specific?
the search queries?
the site where they are coming?
how to improve your conversion rate? For search queries, you will need to set up some advanced features on GA.
For your source of traffic, start to implement UTM links will help you.
For CRO Optimizely is the best in my opinion of Google Analytics Premium
Tag manager is a good option too. -
Hi Eric,
Can you explain this is more detail? Are you looking to track user behavior on a select group of pages on your own website? If so, you can simply view that information in Google Analytics by either creating a segment that only shows the pages that you want or by setting up an advanced filter as you are reviewing the report that you want.
Is there any reason why you wouldn't want to track the rest of your website or are you just speaking about being able to do analysis on a select group of pages?
Hope that helps,
John

UX and/or Conversion Help for Ecommerce
Good Morning, We recently revamped and relaunched our ecommerce website and we believe we have built a great site that is easy to navigate, find what you're looking for, get all details, and purchase. We were hoping to get some of the Moz community to take a look at the site and let us know if you have any suggestions on usability or conversion techniques that we could implement to improve user experience and amount of orders placed. You can view our site here Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks in advance

Better Conversions with Java Script Pop Up Form or with Independent Page (URL)?
Greetings MOZ Community? I manage a commercial real estate site (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com). Visitors view listings (for example:http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings/303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf). If they want more details they click on the "Interested In This Space, Contact a Broker" button. They get directed to a contact us form like: http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/contact-us?from_listing=303-broadway-building-office-sublet-11189sf We are redesigning this form. Remove much of the text and allowing the visitor to check questions pertaining to the property, like "Schedule a Tour", "Get Floorplans", "Details on Similar Space'. Currently this conversion form is on its own URL, and as such has menus on top, which I am concerned could distract the visitor. Would we get better conversions if this form was a Java script pop up with no menus. That way there would be no distraction for the visitor and we would have a better chance of converting them. Any thoughts? Also, we are using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to track conversions. Would changing to a Java Script pop up form have any implications for tracking? Thanks everyone!!! Alan

Question about conversion rate in ppc
Hi guys, Im managing the campaigns in the company that im working and so far i think that the results are o.k more or less. The problem is how can i really know if it is o.k ?
Conversion Rate Optimization | | WayneRooney
I really don’t have any data to compare to… For example, this is campaign from the insurance niche from the uk : Clicks – 132
Impr – 6,958
CTR- 1.90%
Conversion – 20 (Not inducing the one that calls the office)
Conversion rate – 16%
Total cost – 704£ How can i know by these number that the campaign is working ? Same here (T-shirts campaign for the Spanish market): Clicks – 1,219
Impr – 26,177
CTR- 4.66%
Conversion – 56
Conversion rate – 4.5%
Total cost – 493€ Probably you will say, check how much you spend and how much you got back ?
This is also a problem for me. I can see the numbers of the conversion but because we are not eCommerce so i cant really know the total income. Do you know if there’s is a way that each for quote that coming to our system
so i will know where it came from ? Like a comment in the url or something ? I think that 90% of our income/quotes comes from the organic as we are ranking very high in Google so its a bit mixed in the system. Any feedback or tips here on this will be very welcome…0 -

Any idea why my bounce rate could be so high?
Hello Everyone, I'm stumped. My primary website has a horrendous bounce rate of around 75% My domain is www.radicalmarketingsolutions.com My home page has a bounce rate of around 68%. The funny thing is, I have a page on Google Analytics basics for small business owners that is my 3rd top page for content, I have an average time on page of over 3 minutes yet my bounce rate is 90%. I have another page on how to depersonalize your google searches in Chrome and Firefox that is a top page with a time on page over 5 minutes and this page has a bounce rate of 96%! I felt that my old design was really hurting me so I changed the design in the beginning of this month and it does not look like it's helped much. I really simplified the site, created a lot more white space and added some links to my other important pages in hopes to get more click throughs. I would really love some honest "constructive" feed back on my site as to why the bounce rate could be so high. I have a ton of content on my blog and I get a lot of positive feedback. One thing I did not do was exclude my IP from Analytics so I could be influencing the numbers. I've added this filter and hoping this will help. Another issue is I do email my list with each new blog post. This could mean those folks visit the post and then leave without reading anything else on my blog. So this could be hurting me as well. Would love your suggestions. Thanks, Bill Parlaman

Landing Page Conversion
Hi, I'm having a few issues with my landing page conversion. I have followed several guides found on this site (especially the unbounce.com ones) but what'ever I try my landing page CRO doesn't seem to increase. the landing page in question is http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk/find-driving-test-cancellations. I'm getting traffic to my landing page solely through PPC traffic from Google. My stats are rough as follows: Arrive at landing page - 100% (obviously)

Click through to buy now page - 15-20%
Actually complete the buy now process - 1% Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%. It seems odd to me that my highly targeted ad campaign and landing page are convertign so badly compared to the less atrgeted organic search traffic and homepage. Have you got any ideas why this might be occurring and also any tips on how I can improve the conversion rate for my product? Gary...0
