Inputting Schema for Website When Using a Markup Generator
-
Hi Guys,
I think this may be fairly straightforward but couldn't find an answer online.
I wish to input Schema on a website and have generated the JSON-LD markups for a local business.
1. Do I just add this into the header and if so should it be at the start or end?
2. Do I just add to the homepage?
3. If I have multiple markups (Local Business, Website, etc.) do I put them all in one header
Thanks!
Jack

The best way to deal with Schemas is using Tag Manager, the first schemas that you will need to focus are the schemas supported by Google ...Why? because will have an impact on your site performance (from SEO perspective).
Website, Local Business, Articles, Breadcrumbs, Site Logos, Social Profile are almost mandatory you can check the complete list ( Also you can as many schemas as you want )
There many ways to insert schemas on your site, and if you use WordPress there are tons of plugins to do it. But in my opinion, those options are difficult to implement I mean there are plugins for recipes, for local and so on. And if you are serious about your project, you will need to keep consistency in the long run. The other option is to insert it manually which is ok if you have a small website with 20 pages but if you have a website with 500 articles and 50 categories .... well manual option will be a nightmare
So that's why I prefer to work with Tag Manager to implement schemas, I create a tag and the repeat and all the pages that I want and also I don't have to worry of the plugin support
Good Luck

Thanks James,
So if I have multiple Markups do you know if I just combine them into one and put into the header of all the pages?

What city to use for citations?
Hey everyone, I have a question about what city to use for citations in this case. My client is a service-area business in the Seattle area. The business is home-based, in Everett, WA, which if you’re not familiar is in the northern part of the Seattle metro area. They only serve clients outside the home. For their GBP that’s no problem, as of course their address isn’t shown. For all the citations we’ll be building though, I’m not entirely sure what we should do. The client does not want their street address anywhere online. So, since their city won't be listed on their GBP, should we still use Everett as the city for all the citations, or should we use Seattle? I'm unsure here because with some citations you have to list a full address, and then you're able to hide the street address later. And since they don't technically have a Seattle address, I'm not if that would be the way to go. But I’m wondering because no one will be searching for “[service] in Everett”, they would search for “[service] in Seattle”. What do you think?

Would two telephone numbers on a website affect NAP consistency? One is the "actual" business number with Schema, the other is a call tracking number.
Hello! I have two telephone numbers listed on a website - one is the "actual" business number and is utilizing proper schema, while the other is a call tracking number featured more prominently on the site (both in the header and above the "actual" business number in the footer). The code looks like this: New Patients: 999-555-5555 Current Patients: 555-555-5555 Does Google prioritize the "actual" business number because it has the proper schema on it? Or would the call tracking number still be counted and affect NAP consistency for Local SEO? Thanks!

Geo-targeting Schema Codes
Hello Moz, I have a couple of questions about the wonderful world of schema.org. I understand basically how everything works, but I have a client that has multiple locations and operates as a bowling alley/restaurant/entertainment venue. My questions are as follows: 1. What is the difference between the Place, LocalBusiness, and Restaurant Schema Codes? Can I geo-target these codes to come up in the areas of the different locations? 2. With the Restaurant Schema Code, will the menu populate in google the way other restaurants do? Do I just need this code on pages that relate to their menu/restaurant? 3. Is there some sort of cheat sheet somewhere where I can see examples of codes and how to use them? Thanks!

New Global Company website launch question
Hi Community, a quick question and just some reassurance for me - We have been building a new website for a large company in the UK. Their previous website was badly made and they had franchisee websites all leading off from the main .com website all under separate sub domains on Wordpress multi site. cityname1.companyname.com

cityname2.companyname.com
cityname3.companyname.com and so on... My question is this - A few of their franchisee microsites on sub domains are currently ranking very well for their chosen search terms. The new companybrand.com website has a dedicated page for each franchisee city/areas and i'm concerned that there may be a loss in rankings if the subdomain of their old 'microsites' gets pointed to their new page (which has better quality content). ie; city-location.companyname.com to be pointed to www.companyname.com/city-location Can anyone see any potential hazards in this? Thanks for any help 🙂0 -
Javacript & Schematic Markup for Local SEO
I am trying to apply schematic markup for a client who is using javascript for their store hours and maps. Will Google be able to comprehend the data in the Javascript file if I set up a schematic property for this? I wanted to use this specific property http://schema.org/openingHours. Our client is also importing reviews from a third party source. Would it be possible to apply schematic markup to a 3rd party source? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is there any data about how user interact with the local 7 pack listing, do they scroll past it or use it like a normal SERP ?
Does any one have any data about how users interact with the local 7 pack listings in regards to position to CTR ratios, do everyday users tend to scroll past it to the normal SERPs as they might do with adwords ads (as the local pack is formatted slightly different to normal SERPs) ? bMvtUSe.png

How To Change Image Used In Business Knowledge Graph...
How can one change the image that Google shows in a business' knowledge graph in the SERPs? And the image I am referring to is the one that typically appears to the left of the map within the knowledge graph box, above the business' name. The current image that is being used in my client's case is an image that was uploaded in their Google+ My Business profile, but there doesn't appear to be any particular reason why that one was chosen (it wasn't the first or last image uploaded, nor is it selected as the profile picture). As user-interaction increasingly becomes important in rankings, I would like to change this to something more attractive. Thank you for any help and guidance!
