PDF - host, link, recreate?
-
I want to get as much SEO juice as possible onto my site. Our partner who is the manufacturer has about 5 pdf's per product listed on their website already.
What should I do to create content and drive the most traffic to my reseller site?
1. Should I do a direct outbound link to their PDF and Google will crawl that content to boost my keywords?
2. Should I download the pdf and then upload the exact PDF onto our site? Will Google know this is not my content and copied?
3 Should I copy and paste the PDF content and paste it into our sites product page directly?
4. Should I recreate the PDF by copying most of our content and use our branding/contact details? then upload or copy and paste that content onto our site? (obviously alot more work)
We have MANY products and different suppliers but want a way to be better at SEO then our manufactures.
Option to any more ideas or ways to cut down on as much work as possible while driving the most traffic.
Thank you!

Write unique content for the most popular topics. Make that content far better than your competitors with detailed instructions, photos, data, information, etc. And, post that information as html pages on your website. Link it to the pages where the products are sold and link the sales pages to this content.
Lots of work, but kickass when you have it finished. Start with the most profitable products that you sell. Do this exceptionally well.

The problem you'll run into with PDFs is generally speaking they aren't optimized for search engines. unfortunately Google's crawlers can read them too so if you're marketing them and ranking organic results, I'd probably ensure any PDFs on the page are compressed in a ZIP file.
DO NOT Copy/paste the content onto the site! Especially if Google's crawlers have already indexed the content on your client's page. If your using a simply drive by affiliate market tactic:
Ideally I'd say making a nice 1-2k word landing page with testimonials, relevant icons, and possibly a sweet video (Wistia or Youtube ideally) if you're going for straight up sales on potential leads.
However according to Rand, usually 5-7 times returning visitors is when you'll finally pull in the cash, so a regularly posting blog with infographics and rich content will probably be your ideal model. Rapport is going to be like 90% of your sales for the most part. And thanks to the internet that can be automated

Link conundrum - losing nav/footer links in mobile view
Hi Moz folks! I'm currently moving a site from being hosted on www. and m. separately to a responsive single URL. The problem is, the desktop version currently has links to important landing pages in the footer (about 60) and that's not something we want to replicate on mobile (mainly because it will look pretty awful.) There is no navigation menu because the key to the homepage is to convert users to subscription so any distraction reduces conversion rate. The footer links will continue to exist on the desktop view but, since Google's mobile-first index, presumably we lose these important homepage links to our most important pages. So, my questions: Do you think there is any SEO value in the desktop footer links? Do you have any suggestions about how best to include these 60-odd links in a way that works for mobile? Thanks!

Link Brokers Yes or No?
We have a client who has asked us to talk to link brokers to speed up the back linking process. Although I've been aware of them for ages I have never openly discussed the possible use of 'buying' links or engaging in that part of the industry. Do they have a place in SEO and if so what is the MOZ communities thoughts?

What Links to Disavow?
I am looking through my website's link profile that I pulled directly from Google Webmaster Tools. What is the best way to determine the links to disavow? Maybe the Webmaster Tools list is not the best list for this process but I really need to clean up the links that are hurting the site's SEO. Does anyone have any insight?

Multiple Internal links to same destinations
My company is redoing our homepage and there will be 4 links to our main play pages (5 games). 2 in the menu and 2 within the content. I was thinking I should no follow one of the links on the homepage + 1 in the menu so that we don't have link dilution from having multiple internal links to the same destination within 1 page. Does this make sense? Any downside of this or suggestions of a solution that may be more effective? Thanks!

Counting over-optimised links - do internal links count too?
To whit: In working out whether I've too many over-optimised links pointing to my homepage, do I look at just external links -- or also the links from my internal pages to my homepage? In other words, can a natural link profile from internal pages help dilute overoptimisation from external links?

How should i best structure my internal links?
I am new to SEO and looking to employ a logical but effective internal link strategy. Any easy ways to keep track of what page links to what page? I am a little confused regarding anchor text in as much as how I should use this. e.g. for a category page "Towels", I was going to link this to another page we want to build PA for such as "Bath Sheets". What should I put in for anchor text? keep it simple and just put "Bath Sheets" or make it more direct like "Buy Bath Sheets". Should I also vary anchor text if i have another 10 pages internally linking to this or keep it the same. Any advise would be really helpful. Thanks Craig

What is the optimal link profile?
I am doing a variety of SEO link building techniques. I am doing: guest blog posts article submissions directories bookmarks web2.0 properties link acquisition I don't expect much from the article submissions, web 2.0, and directories, so I am using these methods for the long tail and less competitive keywords. Is this a good idea? When we talk about a link profile, is it per page or for the whole site? Does it matter if you have a more diverse link profile for a single page or does it have to be diverse for the whole site? Appreciate any informed comments!
