Mobile Usability Issues after Mobile Frist
-
Hi All
A couple months ago we got an email from google, telling us - Mobile-first indexing enabled for https://www.impactsigns.com/
Ran the test on MOZ, Mobile usability shows 100%
Last week got an email from google - New Mobile usability issues detected for impactsigns.com
Top new issues found, ordered by number of affected pages:
Content wider than screen
Clickable elements too close together
I can not seem to figure out what those issues are, as all content is visible.
How important are these 2 issues? Since we are now on the mobile first side?

Make sure, that your company has a really good company website, that works on desktop and also mobile.
We say this, because some web designers, do a really bad job of designing the mobile version, and this can cause a high bounce rate. take a look our summerhouse business, we designed a really good mobile website, so we have reduced our bounce rate, and because the websites so well designed, we get a lot of enquiries from customers.

According to a Google post on their webmasters blog the mobile-first indexing is more about how they gather content and not necessarily about how content is ranked.
I ran your website through Google's Mobile-Friendly Test and everything looks fine. You can check it out here for you: https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly.
However, when I ran the mobile test I noticed you are blocking a few content resources within the robots.txt file. I'd update that so Google can access the /wp-content/ folder and properly index images within that folder.
Back to the mobile issue, personally I don't believe those two issues will be too impactful unless it is impacting the overall user experience.
I hope that helps some.

Google Search Analytics desktop site to losing page position compared to the mobile version of the site
Looking at Google Search Analytics page position by device. The desktop version has seen a dramatic drop in the last 60 days compared to the mobile site. Could this be caused by mobile first indexing? Has Google had any releases that might have caused this?

Parallel mobile website
After researching and comparing desktop keywords vs mobile keywords, I came to the conclusion that they are pretty much the same, with minor variations. The new keywords for mobile website do not have a great potential for bringing in much traffic. If I don't want to go after those new mobile, do I need to build separate links to our parallel mobile website (URL) to rank better or the link building for my desktop website would be enough to rank for my parallel mobile website as well?
