Any idea why this page is an absolute magnet for bots?
-
This page on our client's website seems to be an absolute magnet for bots, and it's skewing our Google Analytics stats:
https://cbisonline.com/us/catholic-socially-responsible-esg-investing/proxy-voting/
We already filter out lots of bots in GA, primarily through a segment we created several years ago and continue to build upon, but plenty of spam traffic still manages to slip through – mostly to the page above. Last quarter, almost all of it came from two random cities in Europe, so we're going to filter out traffic from those places. (At least for now – not an ideal solution, I know.)
But I'm really wondering what drives so many bots to that page in particular.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I know how painful this can be, first you can filter the bots and exclude the traffic from the analytics so It doesn't mess up with your numbers and stats in analytics. Second, If you somehow able to find out the source of bots block them via robots.txt, third there might be a direct attack by competitors to any of your specific URLs, there are a lot of tools available online for botting.

Page Speed or Site Speed which one does Google considered a ranking signal
I've read many threads online which proves that website speed is a ranking factor. There's a friend whose website scores 44 (slow metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Despite that his website is slow, he outranks me on Google search results. It confuses me that I optimized my website for speed, but my competitor's slow site outperforms me. On Six9ja.com, I did amazing work by getting my target score which is 100 (fast metric score) on Google Pagespeed Insights. Coming to my Google search console tool, they have shown that some of my pages have average scores, while some have slow scores. Google search console tool proves me wrong that none of my pages are fast. Then where did the fast metrics went? Could it be because I added three Adsense Javascript code to all my blog posts? If so, that means that Adsense code is slowing website speed performance despite having an async tag. I tested my blog post speed and I understand that my page speed reduced by 48 due to the 3 Adsense javascript codes added to it. I got 62 (Average metric score). Now, my site speed is=100, then my page speed=62 Does this mean that Google considers page speed rather than site speed as a ranking factor? Google Analytics not Working on all pages despite many attempts
Hey gang, So this problem has been going on for months. None of our landing pages track, but all of our blog pages do. I've tried GA plugins, (we are on wordpress) and just now even put the code in the theme header script. Still to no avail. I just checked right now, and the blog pages have the global GA code, but now I noticed not even the home page has the code! Could it be something to do with my theme? I tried to pay a guy on upwork to fix but he couldn't fix it either. Thank you for you help!

Using Canonicals on category or link pages
Hey, If a site has category or tag pages showing in search results for a particular keyword - sometimes higher than the page you would like to rank - could using canonical redirects on categories and tags be a solution? Thanks

No-indexed pages are still showing up as landing pages in Google Analytics
Hello, My website is a local job board. I de-indexed all of the job listing pages on my site (anything that starts with http://www.localwisejobs.com/job/). When I search site:localwisejobs.com/job/, nothing shows up. So I think that means the pages are not being indexed. When I look in Google Analytics at Acquisition > Search Engine Optimization > Landing Pages, none of the job listing pages show up. But when I look at Acquisition > Channels > Organic and then click Landing Page as the primary dimension, the /job pages show up in there. Why am I seeing this discrepency in Organic Landing pages? And why would the /job pages be showing up as landing pages even though they aren't indexed?

Filters for referral bots ineffective
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I've been trying to block spam from my client's analytics for over a month and I just can't seem to get it right. I am beyond frustrated. Here is a list of the filters I have: http://imgur.com/a/SVvEA#0 And here is referral traffic from them regardless: http://imgur.com/a/SVvEA#1 Specifically this is what the filter looks like. Am I doing something wrong here? http://imgur.com/a/SVvEA#2 I have also put a filter in place to block traffic from Russia, and it doesn't seem to be working 100% either. http://imgur.com/a/SVvEA#3 On top of that, it seems anytime I do manage to block something, another site just pops up in its place. Is it endless? My clients are very small local business and this is absolutely ruining their analytics. I can't even show them their traffic reports since it's absolutely meaningless with all this spam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Webmaster Tools, why does it show 486 pages submitted to web, and only 40 indexed?
I am confused on what a client account shows in WMTs, client account is http://multiview.com. They have a graph showing 486 pages submitted to web, but only 40 are indexed. Also, they recently re-launched, i.e in April 2014, and the new site has about 40 pages indexed.... so I am guessing that the 486 number relates to all the pages that are showing errors in retrieving...i.e. 28 soft 404 errors, 10 access denied errors, 808 not found errors. Does this make sense to explain why there is such a gap between 486 and 40?
