New Subdomain SEO questions
-
I have a main site - mysite.com. I just created a subdomain - leadform.mysite.com
I plan to use the leadform.mysite.com as a 1 page lead form only.
I will link to leadform.mysite.com from mysite.com and also from other websites I own (myothersite.com etc.) - filtering all traffic to this form to capture leads.
(Note - the leadform.mysite.com has CNAME to other server that hosts the backend of the form)
My questions are:
- How should I link from mysite.com to leadform.mysite.com? With dofollow or nofollow? (mysite.com has 1000's of pages and would link from every page with "get a quote' type button)
2) How should I link from myothersite.com to leadform.mysite.com? With dofollow or nofollow? Any SEO risk linking to leadform.mysite.com from an outside domain? (myothersite.com has 1000's of pages and would link from every page with "get a quote' type button)
- Does it make sense to build links from outside sites to leadform.mysite.com directly to try to get that lead capture page to rank on it's own?
4) Does it make sense to link back from leadform.mysite.com back to mysite.com for seo value? With dofollow or nofollow?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have to note, as with any SEO question, the answer is just my opinion and not knowing the full and specific scenario, take it with a grain of sale.
As a general rule in that scenario though I'd simply let the bots do what they will with it but make sure to canonical the page to itself so if the other sub you're CNAMEing gets picked up it canonical's back to the real one.
In essence, let the link weight flow as it will - just make sure you don't get hit with a dup-content issue on the page.
As for ranking ... I'd focus your energies on the main site unless there's a term that the page lends itself to. But then ... that's pretty much a global truth: focus on rankings a page with content that lends itself to the term you want to rank for.
Good luck !!!

Migration to a new domain
Hi everyone, So i have one project where I'm planning to move current content on new domain, two reasons: 1. It seems current domain has some google penalty (backlink related, not manual) 2. Client wants rebranding and already has domain with new brand name. So as content is high quality and there is no content related penalty from google, what would be the best way to migrate existing content without passing any penalty AND without Google treating it as duplicate content. If i do 301 i suspect any penalty there is might follow, if i just copy existing content it won't be original content, what is the best solution here? Thanks

Many New Urls at once
Hi, I have about 5,000 new URLs to publish. For SEO/Google - Should I publish them gradually, or all at once is fine? *By the way - all these URLs were already indexed in the past, but then redirected. Cheers,

No Index Question
Hello, We are attempting to have the following page removed from Google search results: view-source:http://www.mndaily.com/1998/04/08/missing-student-has-disappeared A noindex tag was added but we aren't sure if it was done correctly. I'm wondering if there are any experts here that might be able to confirm that this was added correctly and will result in the removal of the page from search results. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Press Release Question.
We do many Press Releases for many clients and it is recommended to have an about us at the bottom of each Press Release... If we have 200 words at the bottom of each Press Release that we submit to PRWeb should we change them up so they look unique? Will this be considered duplicate content if we leave the bottom section of our PR's identical?

Question about copying content
Hi there, I have had a question from a retailer asking if they can take all our content i.e. blog articles, product pages etc, what is best practice here in getting SEO value out of this? Here a few ideas I was thinking of: I was thinking they put canonical tags on all pages where they have copied our content? They copy the content but leave all anchor text in place? Please let me know your thoughts. Kind Regards
